Not a chance.

Romney is losing the black vote 94 to…0.

He won’t get the hispanic vote, nor the woman vote. He obviously won’t get the gay vote, or the union vote. He keeps making stupid comments and most Americans believe he’s out of touch. Ryan was a smart movie to energize the conservative base, but it will cost him some moderates.
These Black conservatives support Romney are 0?

There are many more

You should be ashamed of yourself as you are laying the ground work to provide an excuse as to why a failed president, a failed policy and a morally corrupt administration is going to have its head handed to it on election day. Furthermore you are ignoring the extreme harm that this adminstration has done to millions of Americans by ignoring this extremely poor economy. In short, stop snipping and if you can’t have an adult conversation abou these most serious issues, issues that our Bishops have implored us to be engaged in then I suugest you talk to a Priest.

Do you want the HHS mandate? Do you want Catholic hospitals to be sold? Do you want our church to have to fund abortions? Do you want immigration policy that is lawless?

Can you explain to me how a vote for Obama will lead to a reversal of the HHS mandate? Can you explain to me how our Church will not have to fund abortions in one casts their vote for Obama?
Can you explain to me how a vote for Obama means that our children won’t have to grow up in a country that has $26 Trillion in debt in 10 years?
Can you explain to me why Obama, who didn’t care about the economy during his first term, despite the specter of re-election, is going to care about it in his second?

While Christ dined with sinners, Christ also drove out the money changers from the temple and was none too polite about it.

The ends do not justify the means. An action is evil if any aspect of it is evil, even if the ultimate intention is “good”.

If someone wants to get an ID to facilitate their “daily matters” they are free to get one. That is not the same as the state mandating they have one to vote. Voting is the fundamental right and duty of every citizen in a democracy - infringing upon that right without just cause is a form of voter suppression.
How is it voter suppression? They have to stand in line at the DMV like the rest of us? Sounds more like voter laziness. If they really want to vote, theyll get that I.D., if they can’t afford it, I’m pretty sure the state will pay for it. They should have an I.D. anyway and I think you know that. If they can stand in line at an election, they can stand in line at the DMV. 👍

The GOP version of voter suppression: ensure that a person is eligible to vote and to vote in that particular precinct.
Those are not voter suppression laws because an ineligible voter is not a voter by definition. If he is not a voter, he can’t be suppressed from voting.

Read the report starting on page 14 - only 5 cases were identified that fit those criteria. Hardly enough to influence an election and no were near enough to justify disenfranchising thousands.
Report says, ‘we did not set out to quantify the magnitude of voting irregularities that occurred, but rather to analyze them in detail. Nevertheless, we identified hundreds of cases of voting irregularities [in select precincts] that warrant further investigation’

This report looked at 1% of districts, 99% have not been reported on

Evidence photo ID disenfranchises voters?

Why would Akin be a reason for in Romney’s decline in poll points? Romney has asked Akin to step down. …
Guilt by association is about as an in-depth analysis as you can expect from the average voter.

👍 well put!

They weren’t able to produce any evidence for any of those accusations in court, but the judge ruled in their favor anyway.
There was evidence that The Black Panther Party was threatening voters in 2008. Of course that was pro Obama so that’s all right with you.

Voter I.D. law is to stop voter fraud regardless of party affiliation. This is FACT.

You forgot the boost the GOP will get from all their voter suppression laws. It could tip the balance towards Romney in states like Ohio & Pennsylvania.
More left wing fear mongering that one cannot take seriously.

The government in PA is bending over backwardsso that everyone gets proper ID.

Secondly, no one group is being singled out as everyone is required to get an ID.

So, this begs the question… If somoeone is too lazy, stubborn, dumb, etc. to get an ID it’s their own fault and do we really want them voting in the first place? 😉

if anyone truly cares about our country recovering from the damage done by 4 years of the Obama administration, the bad economy, the real estate market collapse - we need to pray that we will have Mitt Romney and Paul Ryan winning the election in November.
if Obama/Biden win, i foresee our country remaining in a rut - no job growth, no economic growth.

Then why will it help Mitt Romney win the state? No, the motivations behind the law are clear. Voter impersonation fraud in PA is nonexistent and the Republicans used their majority to pass a law intended to rig the system in their favor. They admit it themselves.
And some here would admit it if they were honest. Do folks possibly believe that this law will benefit the Democrats?

Voting is a right that shouldn’t be abused by those intent on fradulently exercising this “right”. Those that oppose I.D., apparently have no problem with this practice.

the left wing doesn’t bother with facts - but the left wing believes the fear mongering is what i have learned.

you make a very good point with your last statement! 👍

MODERATOR NOTICE

This thread is going off topic. Please return to the topic of the original post. If you wish to discuss voter ID laws, find a recent news article and start another thread.

Thank you for your cooperation.

That requires evidence that voter fraud exists and is rampant in PA and an ID, which only serves to prevent the impersonation of a REGISTERED voter, is the solution.

None of that is true in PA.
Then if no voter fraud exists in PA, why are you so upset about requiring IDs? IDs or no IDs; if there is no fraud what difference does it make?

And some hear would admit it if they were honest. Do folks possibly believe that this law will benefit the Democrats?
It would be much wiser for the Democrats to help their constituents actually get ID’s and properly registered to vote, rather than belly aching about the law.

Thank you to qui est ce and 7 sorrows for their kind words.

I think it is clear that I asked bellasbane to “put-up”, enough said there in light of the above response.

Mitt Romney is far and away the very best candidate in this election and that is why Obama is losing in the polls. The polls have zero to do with voter suppression as bellasbane would want to believe. Clearly we should focus this thread on the issue which is Romney taking down a failed president. May the Holy Spirit continue to clear away the chaos and confusion that the evil one wants to create.

Come Holy Spirit
Come Holy Spirit, fill the hearts of your faithful and kindle in them the fire of your love.
Send forth your Spirit, that they shall be created and You shall renew the face of the earth.
O, God, who by the light of the Holy Spirit, did instruct the hearts of the faithful, grant that by the same Holy Spirit we may be truly wise and ever enjoy His consolations.
Through Christ Our Lord. Amen.

GOD SPEED MR. ROMNEY OUR COUNTRY NEEDS YOU!!

Since when is driving a right protected by the Constitution? You are comparing apples to oranges. This is a popular argument that has absolutely no merit.

People have marched and died in order to get the right to vote so that they could have a voice in creating laws that impact every facet of their lives. Has anyone ever done the same for the right to drive a car or get on an airplane?

The original “Tea Party” was a protest against a minor tax levied by the British government without the people’s consent. But the minutemen protested based upon the principle of “no taxation without representation” - and the people of Boston paid a dear price for their actions.

Tea Party Republicans who support these voter ID laws bring shame upon their memory and the principle they fought for by co-opting the name…
