Regardless, ANY employer forcing employees to support a particular party/candidate by using the power of the paycheck, is, in my opinion, acting immorally. The only thing our union does is voter registration. Yes, the union president has Democratic stickers on his car, but we’ve never been sent to a rally or told who to vote for.

My employer, like many large companies, hedges their bets-they donate to BOTH sides.

For the most part, Democrats accuse Republicans of waging a war against women due to their position on reproductive rights, that is, access to abortion and contraception, including:
  • Legislation that makes it more difficult for women to obtain an abortion
  • “Personhood” legislation that would define a fertilized embryo or a fetus as a person, which would make abortion and some forms of contraception murder.
  • Attempts to defund Planned Parenthood.
  • Attempts to redefine “rape.”
In addition, proposed cuts in aid to low-income mothers and children are also viewed as anti-women.

Abortion hurts women mentally and physically. Studies have shown women who have abortion have an increased suicide and breast cancer risk. Opposing abortion is pro women

Personhood legislation would not classify contraception as murder

War on women meme is a tactic to deflect attention from the economy. It is pro women to defund Planned Parenthood whose employees have advised women on how to get sex selection abortion because the pregnant women did not want a girl; employees aided and abetted the trafficking of minors; given women unscientific information. Defunding Planned Parenthood helps poor women get health care

Redefine rape?

Democrats are hypocritical for giving Bill Clinton a prominent speaking place at the DNC, who has been accused of rape and a serial adulterer and yet accuse the republicans of war on women

Cuts?

Over 25 million pre born girls have been killed by Planned Parenthood. Who has a war on women? List of women who were killed by legal abortion. Tonya Reeves died from a botched abortion

??? The number of people qualifying as low-income has INCREASED under Obama? Maybe Mitt wants to cut those numbers by improving the jobs market?

in my union his car is paid for by the local ,that means i paid for it.

If you use that logic, you paid for the car of anyone who works for any company you’ve done business with and thus have supported the cause of every employee in that business. You’ve bought a product or service, paid their salary and then they used their money according to their values.

Better be careful to investigate the value systems of everyone on your personal “food chain” there might be an Obama sticker on one of their cars too!

I was not advocating abortion, etc., but merely answering the question of what Democrats thought constituted a war against women by Republicans.

No need to hunt. I was quoting oldcelt who said there “would likely be some sort of compensation.” Just ask oldcelt how compensating union members for attending a recommended rally is different than paying someone for attending a rally. 🤷
 
I’m no expert, which is why I have to ask these things! A girl in my class told me she’s not voting for either Romney or Obama because neither of them have anything she likes. That aside, however, she says Romney would get her vote if he wasn’t pro-life, and if he didn’t keep changing statements.
Is this an accurate statement? Has he said different things on the same topic, particularly as regards Planned Parenthood?
