I never said it was. When “and” is used, it’s a conjunction.
Cute…so equality is hogwash…BTW, when using a conjunction followed by a noun like equality, both clauses apply to the subject (noun).

John

The state would need to reform its policies.

The federal government doesn’t give money to the states to help people. That’s only a cover story to fool people.

The federal government TAKES money from the states, way more than it gives back, and redistributes it.

States literally have to beg the government to get their money back, which often comes with conditions that aren’t noticed by those who can’t see past the sparkle of big D’s behind names of DC cronies.

That is unacceptable and probably unconstitutional in almost every case.

That’s why both you and John and even zenith have to argue with the rest of us on **emotional platitudes **and hogwash like “equality” or “where would we be without federal help”.

Well, for starters, if your state wasn’t paying so much in federal money or part of Ken Salazar’s land grab out West, it would have more money to help its people.

The only essential services of the federal government are to see that Constitution is upheld.

That means all they need to do is monitor INTER-state commerce, resolve disputes between the states, protect the borders and defend the land from foreign invasion.

There is no Constitutional obligation whatsoever for the government to provide ANYTHING other than what I just stated—no abortion, no health care, no marriage, no bailouts.

Those issues would be referred to the individual states and that is the only way to completely and solidly uphold freedom.

The problem is you don’t see that because for the time being the current government is doing mostly what you agree with.

It’ll be interesting to see what your views on government are as the Muslim population keeps on exploding in Israel and the West and as the democrats make adjustments to pander n promise to them just as they did to Jews, Blacks, women and Native Americans before them.
You actually had me interested in your reasoning until I read the final paragraph of your comment. Do you also think that desegregation and racial discriminatory practices should have been left to the individual states?

That’s the way I see it as well
And the GOP is just incompetent enough to make that happen. Since they ticked off the Tea Party at the convention by orchestrating a rules change designed specifically to marginalize the grassroots movements, if the Tea Party decides to take their ball and go home in November, Romney will lose.

But they probably won’t. They hate Obama and his policies too much to do that.

I asked a top Romney adviser what he makes of reports that the Romney campaign knows it’s losing and that Ohio is slipping out of reach (PPP has a new poll with Obama at 50 in the state):

Planned Parenthood Goes Up With Anti-Romney Ad In Northern Virginia

No mention of planned parenthood providing abortion. PP provide breast exam, which a woman can do herself. US Preventive Services Task Force guideline do not endorse clinical breast exam

I asked a top Romney adviser what he makes of reports that the Romney campaign knows it’s losing and that Ohio is slipping out of reach (PPP has a new poll with Obama at 50 in the state):
It’s horses***. Nobody in Boston thinks we’re going to lose. We’re in a tight race. We had a 4-5 point bounce after our convention and it evaporated when they had theirs. Now they have a 4-5 bounce. It’s going to evaporate in September. We feel good about the map. We’re up with advertising in Wisconsin and I think North Carolina is going to come off the board. On Ohio, they’ve been spinning for months now that it’s out of reach.
There was a Columbus Post-Dispatch poll last week that had it 45-45.
That’s a more accurate picture of the state of the play there than any of the spin. PPP has these polls that just put chum in the water for the media. Sometimes I think there’s a conscious effort between the media and Chicago to get Republicans depressed. And I hope our friends realize that all these media analysts out there are Democrats WHO WANT US TO LOSE. And the more Washington DC controls our economy, the more important inside-the-beltway publications are and the more money they make. The 202 area code is dominated by people who will make more money if Obama is reelected, so it’s not just an ideological thumb they’re putting on the scale for him, it’s a business interest.
I actually think the other side is in a panic. You look at New Mexico closing up. And they’re not above 50 in any of their target states. Look, we’re raising money, they’re raising money, and it’s tight. This is a dogfight. But the numbers actually point to a romney win barring something unforeseen.

I have been thinking that Romney needs on the attack more, but pollster Dick Morris on Fox news said a strategy Romney is taking is not too attack so much because he is trying to win over independents and they get turned off by negative campaigning

Agreed, however, rather than responding by way of negative ads,Romney really needs to accentuate the positive.get out there tooting his own horn,re his successes why those successful techniques can be applied to returning our country to economic good health.Compare and contrast to Obama’s destructive vision.

Agree. Romney needs to contrast his experience in business to Obama’s lack of experience

Romney Ahead in North Carolina
in North Carolina finds Mitt Romney with a 10 point lead over President Obama, 53% to 43%.

Big caveat: The poll shows Romney winning 30% of the black vote, which would be extraordinary.

A PPP poll released late last night found the race essentially tied.

politicalwire.com/archives/2012/09/10/romney_ahead_in_north_carolina.html

For those wondering about PPP’s sample in this state, note that the most recent voter registration statistics, about 43 percent of the Tarheel State’s voters are registered Democrats, and only about 31 percent are registered Republicans. Of course, not every registered voter is equally likely to vote in November, and a lot of North Carolina’s Democrats are relatively conservative.

Interestingly, the PPP survey, which has Obama ahead, only has a D+13 split (47-34) while Civitas, which has Obama trailing considerably, has a D+15 split (45-30). PPP has Obama and Romney tied among independents (48 each); the previous week, PPP found Romney leading this demographic 51-40.

Civitas finds Romney winning independents 49 percent to 40 percent.

PPP finds 17 percent of North Carolina Democrats backing Romney; Civitas finds 28 percent of this demographic backing the GOP nominee.

If you’re wondering whether the Civitas survey included the Democratic Convention bump for Obama, it was conducted from September 4 through 6, the days of the convention.

Except being President, and also in the little matter of foreign affairs, which Romney doesn’t initially seem to be too good at.
Of, couse. Now. He came with as near zero experience in that area as is humanly possible, though.

Except for having lived in various parts of the world including Asia and having lived and helped poor people of the inner city.
