It’s not unpopular now that people realize insurance companies can’t refuse them because of preexisting conditions.Do you think it will be “just out of revenge” or because it is so unpopular with their constituents?
This article is basing a GOP win over control of the Senate in 2012. That isn’t going to happen. No filibuster is allowed in a reconciliation vote.

And that’s all the difference in the world. There isn’t much different from Obama Care and Romney Care, other than it’s on a Federal Level rather than a state level.

Polls are showing a 55 republican senate, let alone 50 is possibleThis article is basing a GOP win over control of the Senate in 2012. That isn’t going to happen.
It also isn’t a reconciliation vote, which is the reconsideration of a law that was approved, but not yet enacted. Obama Care was not only approved, but parts are now in effect.
If they could repeal Obama Care, they could’ve repealed social security and medicare, which they wouldn’t even attempt to do.

I’m sure there are plenty of polls that disagree.Polls are showing a 55 republican senate, let alone 50 is possible

Polls have been known to be wrong before; might be a good idea to wait for the chickens to hatch before we count them.Polls are showing a 55 republican senate, let alone 50 is possible

Unless you can say which polls…I’m sure there are plenty of polls that disagree.

Up to date polling data. realclearpolitics.com/epolls/other/repeal_of_health_care_law_favoroppose-1947.htmlIt’s not unpopular now that people realize insurance companies can’t refuse them because of preexisting conditions.
It’s not unpopular now that parents know their kids will have health insurance on their policies right through college.
It will not be unpopular as people who couldn’t afford health insurance and went without, will now be able to get it.
The mistake the Obama administration made is not communicating what the Affordable Health Care Act was going to do.
Romney is now helping to communicate the benefits of Obama Care.
The only part I see Romney getting rid of, is the HHS mandate on contraception, and that will stay as long as the GOP controls the House of Representatives.
He may also have the states run their own equivalent program, as Massachusetts does, which is able to waiver Obama Care. However, there will be resistance to this being that it would create and unequal situation for people receiving health care from state to state.
There isn’t much different from Obama Care and Romney Care, other than it’s on a Federal Level rather than a state level.

Romney can’t repeal Obamacare on own
I understand that President Barack Obama, not Mitt Romney, was a constitutional law professor, but I would nonetheless expect that Romney would consult with constitutional law experts before displaying a banner reading “Repeal and Replace” in response to the Supreme Court’s decision upholding the individual mandate of the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act.
As a constitutional law professor, I am thrilled to see the decision cause hundreds of thousands of people to go the Supreme Court’s website to wade through what might be their first Supreme Court decision and learn more about how constitutional decisions are rendered. But I would be even happier if this decision prompted the American people to have a better understanding of the interaction between the three branches of government.
The president of the United States cannot unilaterally “repeal and replace” any law, let alone a highly complicated, 2,000-page piece of legislation. Thus, it is highly misleading for Romney to announce: “On my first day if elected president of the United States … I will act to repeal Obamacare.”

A Republican poll shows a drop of 5 percentage points in Sen. Scott Brown’s lead in Massachusetts’s Senate race following the Democratic convention in North Carolina, at which Democratic challenger Elizabeth Warren spoke — but the two remain locked in a statistical tie.
JohnThe poll, conducted by Kimball Political Consulting, gives Brown 46 percent support to Warren’s 45 percent support, within the poll’s 3.5 percent margin of error.
Social security and medicare were programs passed on a bipartisan basis. Obamacare wasn’t. Obamacare was pushed through against the will of the people by the Democrats nearly exclusively. This article is basing a GOP win over control of the Senate in 2012. That isn’t going to happen.
