Sorry I misunderstood the headline of the article; I posted this in the thread about the meeting with Netanyahu
Yes, and the links been taken down because this topic is now sensitive because it’s in the news big time due to Libya.

This is blowing up in Obama’s face.

Yah, Obama’s presidential campaign can’t do much about international news agencies in other countries. That must gall the stuffing out of them.

Republicans Shake Their Heads At Romney’s Libya Attack On Obama: He ‘Stepped In It’

thinkprogress.org/security/2012/09/12/840821/republicans-shake-their-heads-romney-obama-libya/

The Washington Post editorial board, which is usually a reliable ally for Republicans on foreign policy, today offered sharp criticism of Mitt Romney’s claim that Obama sympathized with the attacks on Americans in Egypt and Libya yesterday, which left four American foreign service officers dead and others wounded. The Post said Romney’s attack “is a discredit to his campaign.”

While the Romney campaign’s unofficial press secretary Jen Rubin tried to rally some troops around the GOP presidential nominee, it doesn’t look like the day is turning out to be a big winner for Romney as Republicans are turning out en masse to denounce his attacks:

• “I don’t think President Obama sympathizes with those who attacked us. I don’t think any American does.” — Former Bush administration DHS Secretary **Tom Ridge **

•“In the wake of this violence, the rush by Republicans — including Mitt Romney, Sarah Palin and scores of other conservative critics — to condemn him for policies they claim helped precipitate the attacks is as tortured in its reasoning as it is unseemly in its timing.” — Mark Salter, former chief of staff and top campaign aide to Sen. John McCain (R-AZ)

•“They were just trying to score a cheap news cycle hit based on the embassy statement and now it’s just completely blown up,” said a very senior Republican foreign policy hand, who called the statement an “utter disaster” and a “Lehman moment” — a parallel to the moment when John McCain, amid the 2008 financial crisis, failed to come across as a steady leader. … “This is just unbelievable — when they decide to play on it they completely bungle it.”

•But does have a good read on Romney–a man with a healthy sense of pride, and who’s already invested in the idea of Obama as an appeaser. It was the only plausible explanation the adviser could think of for how “they stepped in it,” in his words.

•“I don’t feel that Mr. Romney has been doing himself any favors, say in the past few hours, perhaps since last night. Sometimes when really bad things happen, when hot things happen, cool words or no words is the way to go.” — Conservative commentator **Peggy Noonan **

•“This is a time when we all should reflect on those who continue to give, even the last measure, of service and sacrifice, to promoting and defending America’s interests abroad. This is above all a reminder that politics should end at the waters edge.” — Jon Huntsman, former Republican governor of Utan and 2012 GOP presidential candidate.

It’s not so much Romney’s lack of experience, but his lack of knowledge on the Middle East and agreements between the US and Russia concerning US Missiles in Eastern Europe.

Jim
Which means he shouldn’t issue a statement concerning an attack on US citizens?

Please, your angst is silly. I expected Obama and McCain to comment on major issues in 08, and I expect Obama and Romney to do so now. The only people who who have an issue with Romney are one-sided liberals who can;t stand him. As such, their opinion doesn’t really matter much, since they are votying for the wrong guy anyway.

Naturally, a progressive propaganda machine like thinkprogress would report as such.

That’s a pretty far-left site for someone who claims that my analysis of yourself being liberal is off base.

This is negating “I got bin-laden”.

But if you were a resident of Massachusetts and needed help, all you had to do is call Kennedy’s office and they responded.

When my father became sick, back in 1964, my mother wrote to his office and he had my brother who was serving in Okinawa, on a plane and back home in 48 hours. He then helped him with a hardship discharge.

Jim
Kennedy was famous for starting the 1988 DNC chant " where was George?" After learning that Obama skipped half of his security briefings, we might want to ask, “where was Obama?”

Pro abortion, anti Catholic thinkprogress creates a list of a commentator, Jon Huntsman and former staff members of McCain and Bush 🤷

Romney’s speech sounded presidential and reiterated the need for American leadership

Obama criticised Romney for his Libya statement and then Obama went to Las Vegas for a fundrasier and spend about 1.5 minute on the situation in Libya and Egypt. If George Bush had gone to Las Vegas the day after 4 US citizens were killed in Libya and Egypt, Bush would would have been trashed by the mainstream media

Leading from behind policy of the Obama admin is collapsing

Yep, attack the site and the sender, not the content. Romney blew it and looked foolish.

Romney was right, and looked like he was more on top of things than the President.

I’ll offer my proof when you do.

The content is ridiculous. The fact that thinkprogress is the equivalent of the Heritage Foundation and highly partisan aside.

Firstly, since when is the WaPo editorials " reliable ally for Republicans on foreign policy"??

Have you actually read any WaPo editorials? They must be considered and anomaly in the liberal press world because they have not one, but TWO (out of 15 or so) conservative editorials: Charles Krauthammer and George Will. The fact that John Huntsman (a former primary opponent) and Peggy Noonan (considered somewhat conservative, but trashes Republicans regularly, and with gusto) questioned his speech surprises NO ONE who is familiary with the beltway weltanschauung.

More deflection that Jimmy Carter II’s “Weak Man of North America” approach only emboldened Islamists. The embassy tweet was out for nearly half a day before the Obama admin reacted.

Agreed.

Our embassies are in flames and the revolutions that Obama encouraged, supported with US forces and funded with US tax dollars are going the way Islamic revolutions tend go and the MSM spends its time reporting that mean old Romney was critical of the man child’s handling of this mess?

Have I missed something here?

I just heard Hillary speak. She obsessed on the video-it was disgusting and reprehensible, she personally found it disgusting, Oh and by the way, please quit killing our embassy people.

Mr. Romney , a very good family man , loves his wife and children goes to his Church and supports it and that is very good. His business acumen and ability to make lots and lots of money is tops.
From what he tells us he does it all very well and on the up and up, and he asks us to trust him but does not give the details. Oh Yes ,almost forgot, he is a champion at sorting out a really huge worlds sports competitions’ rough problems.
Not so good at diplomacy and not well educated in world affairs, which should be a most important prerequisite for the 'Office of Commander in Chief 'of a very powerful world nation.
Can’t hire him. His qualifications , not good enough.
Peace, Carlan
