Wicca is considered a faith tradition, with its own seminary in the US and millions of followers around the world. It is earth-based and goes back to pagan roots throughout Europe. I know many and they DO have a beautiful way of life and practice.

I’m curious; do you see Wicca as any more “evil” than other non-Abrahamic religions?

ANY “faith tradition” that pulls people away from God is evil…

That’s a good question. My answer is “not necessarily.” But that doesn’t say much for Wicca as there are planty of evil religions in this world.

I trust that God will have mercy for people just trying, albeit in a misguided way, to live happy and loving. I’m not sure if you read the article, but Wiccans reject black magic and try to live by a rede that says to harm none. We know they’re incorrect, but I think it counts for something that they are trying to be good.

I saw your response at post 8 and it made me reconsider my view 🙂

I have no source but I remember reading somewhere that Wicca is the fastest growing religion in the UK.

It’s possible, since Wicca originated in 20th century UK. Not sure, though.

Like Tibetan Buddhism and the Dalai Lama? Or Hinduism? Or the First Nation religious practices?

The lady claims to be a high priestess, making a mockery of Christ’s Priesthood. They chant to someone, presumably the devil. All this I saw in the first glance at the article and the first seconds of the video. I do not need to see any more. These people are not merely misguided, they are spending time in elaborately arranged activities that blasphemously imitate and intentionally pervert Catholic worship. This greatly offends God. I do hope He shows them mercy, but I cannot say they are simply mistaken.

If you are not worshiping God, then you are worshiping another god. All other gods are either demons or the devil himself.

They note in the article that they don’t worship the “devil.”

It’s not my faith, sure, and I don’t agree with it, but it’s not the same as worshiping Satan. They don’t even believe Satan exists; there’s no all-evil deity in their theology.

As the other poster said, they stand for good and not evil (maybe not in the way you or I would). The local Wiccans in fact used to sponsor an annual charity ball and give the proceeds to a local charity for children in hospitals.

  1. Cor. 10:20 No, I imply that what pagans sacrifice they offer to demons and not to God. I do not want you to be participants with demons.
Paul was preaching to the Corinthians telling them to change there pagan ways so must we.
If they give to charity are not it doesn’t matter we are here for a supernatural existence not and earthly one so all physical matter donest matter money Etc. if you don’t have God in your life. But God will judge in the end.
    God bless!

When people choose a spiritual path, it’s usually done with good intentions.
I think girls choose Wicca because they feel that they have borne much from Christianity that was negative but still long for a spiritual experience. Anyhow, that’s my takeaway from things wiccans have said.

They ask the right questions in an increasingly secular world.

They arrive at terribly wrong answers.
