Here’s another couple places to consider:
MyShape

Coldwater Creek

Soft Surroundings

Don’t be put off by the prices–especially at MyShape, there’s always great sales, and you can get stuff for much less–I’ve only bought a couple items at full price, and I’ve paid between 25%-60% of the original prices for everything else I’ve bought (yeah, half off something that’s already half off … a $40 pair of slacks for $9.49). MyShape asks you for a whole slew of measurements besides the usual, and will then advise you which size to order since, if you’re like most women, you can be the exact same size and wear four different sizes depending on the manufacturer. They also ask questions about what fits you like, where you want your hemlines, and so it’s pretty easy to get very stylish, attractive clothing that’s still modest. You can also include/exclude items based on fabric content. Basic shipping is free, too, and if you do get something you don’t like/doesn’t fit right, it’s easy to return, too.

Soft Surroundings has some of the loveliest long skirts (knee length is short there–most are mid calf to ankle), and Coldwater Creek tends to run towards the classy side as well.

Thanks for the added suggestions, which I will check out. God bless!

Was looking for denim skirts for my daughter and found a neat website that has modest skirts and tops. It’s called Below the Knee www.belowtheknee.com I think it’s a Jewish site.

Chadwicks of Boston
Ann Taylor
Newport News
New York and Company
On the lower end, I find a lot of super cute and comfy things at Target, including shoes. You just have to do a bit of sifting. I am in my 20’s but I often wear these these styles for work.
I just want to give a heads up on Chadwicks. In my experience you have to buy the dresses a size larger than you normally wear. I have a normal size bust and in my regular size the bust is way to tight on their dresses. The shirts, skirts, and pants are not a problem, just the dresses. If you read the reviews for the dresses you will find this is a common complaint.

I appreciate the heads up, Sabda. Thanks much! 🙂

Eddie Bauer, Lands End (especially if you have a Sears close so that you can return) and good ole’ Target! 🙂

Boden is a British company that is now available in the US. bodenusa.com/. Their children’s clothes are expensive but their women’s clothes are reasonable as they are well made and (hopefully) you won’t be growing out of them in a few months! They often have lovely dresses and skirts $60-150, if that’s a bit pricey look out for their twice a year sales. They also have a paper catalog.

But not stylish. The OP wants stylish.

I still say White Stag and Demin and Co. have what’s cute, inexpensive, and contemporary.
