*Muslim, Book 004, Number 0747: *****
"'Abdullah b. Amr b. al-As reported Allah’s Messenger (may peace be upon him) as saying: When you hear the Mu’adhdhin, repeat what he says, then invoke a blessing on me, for everyone who invokes a blessing on me will receive ten blessings from Allah; then beg from Allah al-Wasila for me, which is a rank in Paradise fitting for only one of Allah’s servants, and I hope that I may be that one. If anyone who asks that I be given the Wasila, he will be assured of my intercession
."
Now why would Mohammad want people to beg Allah a special place for him in Paradise? Muslims claim Mohammad was merely a ‘messenger’ but apparently, this hadith makes him even more special than previously believed. Why was he so adamant about having a special place in Paradise?
Lā ilaha illa al-Lāh, Muhammadun rasūlu l-Lāh
“There is no god but God, Muhammad is the Messenger of God
"
Isn’t this called “Associating partners with God”? Isn’t this creed in place so he could achieve what he begged for in the hadith above?

That doesn’t even make sense. Not even coloring it red, in bold and italics, will help.

Many teachings in the Hadiths and the Qu’ran don’t make sense, Sister Amy. Not even to some Muslim scholars. But this is obvious - The Hadith from Muslim and the Shahada. He needs a special place in Paradise but he also knew his immediate followers could not be trusted. By the way, who formulated the Shahada?

When I said “That doesn’t make sense” I was referring to what you were suggesting. Not the Islamic teaching.

Do you fancy yourself a scholar of Islam these days?

I wasn’t aware questioning a doctrine was considered a heresy or forbidden in Islam? Oh wait…

“Associating partners with God”?
this has been answered several times. God is only one . Muhammed (p) is a humble servant of God .

We ask God to bless Muhammed (p) as He blessed Prophet Abraham/Ibrahim(p).

There are many people who believe that God is one but they reject the last Prophet . So , to be a Muslim , it’s a must to believe & testify that there is no god but God & Muhammed (p) is His messenger.

Isn’t this called “Associating partners with God”? Isn’t this creed in place so he could achieve what he begged for in the hadith above?
Good point brother.A part of Ahle Hadiths(a sector of muslims)deny this line Muhammadur rasulullah. They only use La Ilaha Illallah.Because they think that using muhammed’s name with allah is making muhammad equal to allah, and it is a type of Shirk.

PS.I am sure that muslim woman knows about this group of Ahle hadiths(who do not use Muhammadur Rasulullah)in Bangladesh.Their leader is “Asadullah Al Galib”.And another ahle hadith group’s leader is Dr. Abdul Bari.

Nobody has ever explained why Mohammad’s name should be in the creed. Unless the creed correlates with the Hadith from Muslim. A humble servant (of Allah) should never put his name with Allah. It tells me Mohammad wanted a special place so he could be the most powerful entity in heaven - effectively becoming the ‘overseer’ for God’s temple.

The Qu’ran is full of contradictions. Yet, despite all the confusion, it clearly states:
YUSUFALI: There is no god but He: That is the witness of Allah, His angels, and those endued with knowledge, standing firm on justice. There is no god but He, the Exalted in Power, the Wise.
PICKTHAL: Allah (Himself) is Witness that there is no Allah save Him. And the angels and the men of learning (too are witness). Maintaining His creation in justice, there is no Allah save Him the Almighty, the Wise.
SHAKIR: Allah bears witness that there is no god but He, and (so do) the angels and those possessed of knowledge, maintaining His creation with justice; there is no god but He, the Mighty, the Wise. - AL-E-Imran 3:18
No mention of any man or prophet. The Shi’a’s Shahada sometimes include, ‘and Ali is the friend of Allah’, but Sunni Muslims call that ‘Shirk’, but it is never ‘Shirk’ when Mohammad’s name is side by side with Allah.
YUSUFALI: “Lord of the heavens and of the earth, and of all that is between them; so worship Him, and be constant and patient in His worship: knowest thou of any who is worthy of the same Name as He?”
PICKTHAL: Lord of the heavens and the earth and all that is between them! Therefor, worship thou Him and be thou steadfast in His service. Knowest thou one that can be named along with Him?
SHAKIR: The Lord of the heavens and the earth and what is between them, so serve Him and be patient in His service. Do you know any one equal to Him? - Maryam 19:65
Yet, the Shahada exists with Mohammad’s name side by side with Allah. Nobody has even attempted to explain how the Shahada was formulated when not a single Hadith or Surah supports the mention of any man or prophet’s name in a creed.

Besides, if Mohammad was such an important messenger and rightly guided, why must he beg people to pray for him so he gets a special rank in heaven? Its inappropriate for a servant of God to demand such a thing, don’t you think?

In simple terms wasila is translated as “means of access to something.” the Quran prescribes it in 5:35

"O you who believe! be careful of (your duty to) Allah and seek means of nearness (al-wasila) to Him and strive hard in His way that you may be successful.

As for the rest of the hadith, it is dubious for a number of reasons.
First, it contradicts some verses of the Quran that affirm God accepts the intersession from certain groups of people. That is to say more than one person has that ability, whereas the hadith says it is a rank fitting for only one person.

Second, this hadith also contradicts other hadiths where the prophet instructed people on how to ask for his intersession, which means God already accepts the wasila through muhammad (s).

the act of seeking wasila is called tawassul, an example below:

“O Allah, I beseech Thee, and turn towards Thee, through Thy Prophet, the Prophet of Mercy, Muhammad, may Allah Bless him and his Progeny, and grant them peace. O Abul-Qasim, O Messenger of Allah O guide of mercy, O intercessor of the community, O our chief, O our master, We turn towards thee, seek thy intercession and advocacy before Allah, we put before you our open need; O intimate of Allah, Stand by us when Allah sits in judgement over us.”

famdigy, how can a contradictory passage from Muslim be made *de facto *when every other Hadith and Surah say otherwise? Do you believe Uthman had something to do with it?

Also, i understand Shi’a Muslims believe in saints but Sunni’s don’t. The passage from Muslim indicates Mohammad as an intercessor as shown by the Tawassul you quoted. Yet, Sunni’s claim Mohammad was not an intercessor.

Some even said Muhammad will sit next to Allah’s throne.

And we preferred some of the Prophets above others" (17:55) then He said: “It may be that thy Lord will raise thee to a praised estate” (17:79), a Station which the Prophet (SAWS) said none but he would receive. and this is the Station of Intercession at the right of the Glorious Throne as we described at length in the posting “The Seating of the Prophet (SAWS) on the Throne.” (G.F. Haddad, The Prophetic Title “Best of Creation”).

Yet Al-Kawthari said in his Maqalat, p. 358:

“Whoever imagines that our Lord sits on the Throne and leaves space at His side for His Prophet to sit, has followed the Christians who hold that ‘Isa was raised to heaven and sat next to his Father – Allah (swt) is clear of the partnership they ascribe to Him!”

When it comes to Jesus, it is ascribing partners to Allah, but no problem if some Muslims apply to Muhammad what Jesus said about Himself …some even went as far as saying Allah created everything because/through Muhammad which are all twisting Christology and applying it to a mere human, turning him into a god.

There is alot of covering up in the Islamic world concerning the Hadiths and passages of the Qu’ran regarding the subject of the OP. As we have seen, nobody is even willing to explain who formulated the Shahada and who put Mohammad’s name side by side with Allah. Where are all the Christian critics now?

My own theory is that Islam today is not the Islam it was when it began. There is a reason why Uthman had other copies of the Qu’ran burnt.
YUSUFALI: “Our Lord! send amongst them a Messenger of their own, who shall rehearse Thy Signs to them and instruct them in scripture and wisdom, and sanctify them: For Thou art the Exalted in Might, the Wise.”
PICKTHAL: Our Lord! And raise up in their midst a messenger from among them who shall recite unto them Thy revelations, and shall instruct them in the Scripture and in wisdom and shall make them grow. Lo! Thou, only Thou, art the Mighty, Wise.
SHAKIR: Our Lord! and raise up in them a Messenger from among them who shall recite to them Thy communications and teach them the Book and the wisdom, and purify them; surely Thou art the Mighty, the Wise. - Al-Baqara 2:129
Could have Uthman been the earliest and actual opponent of Judeo-Christian traditions? What if Mohammad tried to preach God’s message (as revealed before him) albeit imperfect, but never intended to rival Judaism and Christianity? Could have Uthman reinvented what Mohammad actually taught? There is evidence the Qu’ran has been tampered with. The Sana’a manuscripts (Yemeni Qu’ran), etc…

Through the second testimony of Islam, the believer confirms what was taught by every prophet before him. For according to the Quranic worldview, God has sent prophets to every people, and the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) was the last of them. It could be said that the second Shahadah brings the first down to earth, and to deny the second would be to sever all connection with the first. The Prophet is by definition close to God being His messenger. He is therefore the link between Creator and creature. The Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) indicates the perfection and splendour of creation when it remains true to its Creator. He represents the human norm and is therefore the model for every Muslim. Without this model we would have no idea of how to conform, in our persons and in our lives, to the truth enunciated by the first Shahadah; and if he were a superhuman being, or an angel sent to preach to mankind, we could not attempt to imitate him and would not try to do so. It is because he is flesh and blood like us that he is able to fulfil his exemplary function, though it is said of him that he is ‘man, yet not as other men but as a jowl among stones’. - salaam.co.uk
So in other words, Mohammad is the role model and the image of God made perfect in the form of a human. Right.

Why is it so difficult for a Muslim to show us how the Islamic creed (Shahada) came to be? Who formulated the Shahada? It’s definitely not in the Qu’ran.

To Quran only Muslims, the Sunni shahada is shirk:

The true shahada is in the Quran 3:18

003.018
YUSUFALI: There is no god but He: That is the witness of Allah, His angels, and those endued with knowledge, standing firm on justice. There is no god but He, the Exalted in Power, the Wise

If God wanted you to include Muhammad’s name in the shahada, He would have put it in the Quran.

Now see how you sunnis are practising shirk?

time to re-evaluate your beliefs .
