Mohammad, God's intercessor - Al-Wasila, Shahada and Begging Allah - Please Explain

It was Mohammad who dictated the Qu’ran. Does that mean he put his own name in the Shahada?

according to Muslims, not one word in the Quran is from Muhammad so whatever he recited, it was not from him. Now of course we know better that it is not God who swore by Muhammad but Muhammad who made Allah swear by him but it isn’t so to Muslims because God saying He swears by no one except Himself must be a “corruption” of both Jews and Christians

No one can testify if Mohammad was indeed a prophet of Allah, other than hearsay. Anyone can claim that. That aside, i’m surprised why Muslims do not question how the Shahada came to be since the Qu’ran is supposedly from Allah. Why would Allah want to glorify a man beside His name? Why would Allah not give Mohammad a ‘special place’ in heaven if he was indeed His prophet (referring to Mohammad begging to his followers to ‘invoke blessings’ on him.)?

"'Abdullah b. Amr b. al-As reported Allah’s Messenger (may peace be upon him) as saying: When you hear the Mu’adhdhin, repeat what he says, then invoke a blessing on me, for everyone who invokes a blessing on me will receive ten blessings from Allah; then beg from Allah al-Wasila for me, which is a rank in Paradise fitting for only one of Allah’s servants, and I hope that I may be that one. If anyone who asks that I be given the Wasila, he will be assured of my intercession."

What’s even more odd is that a ‘humble’ servant would want a special rank, reserved only for himself in the first place. That’s selfishness, not humility.

The Shahadah testimony that is recited by the Sunnis originates from Abu Hurairah and is recorded in the ‘hadith’ - the oral traditions attributed to the prophet Muhammad. The hadith given below is from “Mishkat-ul-Masabih”, translation by Maulana Fazlul Karim, Volume 1, Chapter 1, no.27. (Published by the Book House, Lahore, Pakistan). As there are a many versions of this hadith, the collections of Tirmidzi should also be read.

The hadith regarding the Shahadah says: One day Abu Hurairah went to the people and told them that the Messenger had authorized him to go and tell them to recite the Shahadah “ash hadu anlaa ilaha illallhu wa ash hadu anna muhammadar-rasulullah”. Another version reads " muhammadan abduhu wa rasuluhu". The first person Abu Hurairah came across to give the Shahadah was Saidina Omar (later the second caliph). When Omar heard it he promptly punched Abu Hurairah in the chest and knocked him to the ground. Then Omar put his foot on Abu Hurairah’s neck and asked him how dare he utter such a blasphemy.

Abu Hurairah (who is recorded in the hadith as having received quite a few beatings from Omar during his lifetime) then cried out and named the Messenger as his authority. When again challenged by Saidina Omar, Abu Hurairah pulled out a pair of leather slippers and showed them to Omar. The slippers, he said, were given to him by the Prophet, as proof for what he was saying. Recognizing the prophet’s slippers, Omar simmered down. Everyone then happily started reciting the shahadah.

This most incredible story is the background to the Shahadah of Abu Hurairah, which has been adopted by millions of Sunnis.

In another account of this same episode, Omar is reported as challenging the Messenger if he did indeed send Abu Hurairah with his slippers to recite the Shahadah. When the Messenger said yes, Omar disagreed with him and said the Shahadah will make people “lazy”! Whatever the logic of this hadith can be left for the hadith advocates to explain. Yet again the narrator of this fabrication is Abu Hurairah.

Abu Hurairah’s ridiculous fable contradicts Sura 6:51 where God tells the Messenger (and by implication the companions and whomever the Quran reaches): [6:51] And preach with this (Quran) to those who reverence the summoning before their Lord - they have none beside Him as a Lord and Master, nor an intercessor - that they may attain salvation.

[72:18] "The places of worship belong to GOD; do not call on anyone else beside GOD.

However, in the Shahadah of Abu Hurairah, the Sunnis call on the Messenger as well as God. The Sunni scholars will argue that the mention of the Messenger’s name is only out of respect. But then in the same breath, they will insist that the salat prayer to God Almighty is nullified if the prophet Muhammad’s name is not mentioned in the Shahadah during the salat prayer. This is tantamount to idolatry as associating another person with God is committing ‘shirk’ the unforgivable offence.

The Sunnis have idolized the Prophet Muhammad and have given him a divine status by adding his name to the Shahadah testament and appropriately the Sunnis can be called “Mohammedan”.

we do not see that 'Islamic shahada" in any book of the Bible, to any prophet.
The true Shahada is the Shema : hear Israel, the Lord is One.

There is no Abraham, Moses, David, or any other name associted to the shahada of monotheism.

And when Muslims accuse us of associating partners with God, they fail to understand that we do not associate the name of any creature in our creed of monotheism.

We believe in one God,
the Father, the Almighty,
maker of heaven and earth,
and of all that is, seen and unseen.

God from God, Light from Light,

We believe in the Holy Spirit,
the Lord, the giver of life

Muslims might reject that Jesus is the Word in flesh born of the virgin Mary, and may reject that the Holy Spirit is not Gabriel, but at least in how we formulate and believe, we are not associating partners with the Father nor are we including a mere human’s name with the name of God to teach monotheism, like Muslims do. At least we believe Jesus and the Holy Spirit IS God, not a creature, yet Muslims believe Muhammad is a mere creature and put his name beside God’s name, giving him glory beside God’s name, which is associating partners with God in their very monotheistic creed.

Another example of pure shirk:

I have sworn by Myself; the word has gone out of My mouth in righteousness, and shall not return, that to Me every knee shall bow…" Isaiah 45:23

By Myself I have sworn, declares the LORD, because you have done this thing and have not withheld your son, your only son,’" Genesis 22:16

For when God made a promise to Abraham, **because He could swear by no one greater, He swore by Himself." **Hebrews 6:13

Yet muhammad, who was supposed to be uttering the words of the same God, made God swear by him, thus contradicting the previous messages and proclaiming Muhammad greater than Him (astaghfirullah!):

Verily, by thy life (O Prophet), in their wild intoxication, they wander in distraction, to and fro. S. 15:72

But of course we “corrupted” the Bible

What’s even more odd is that a ‘humble’ servant would want a special rank, reserved only for himself in the first place. That’s selfishness, not humility.

what’s even odder is that a “humble” servant interrupts the prayer of one man because he has to answer Muhammad’s call because answering Muhammad is answering Allah. This “humble” servant couldn’t wait 5 minutes for the man to finish praying.

Now why would Mohammad want people to beg Allah a special place for him in Paradise? Muslims claim Mohammad was merely a ‘messenger’ but apparently, this hadith makes him even more special than previously believed. Why was he so adamant about having a special place in Paradise?

Maybe he think that he would get more than 72 virgins in that place .

However, that exactly as Jesus said in (Matthew 23:5-6):
“Everything they do is done for men to see: They make their phylacteries wide and the tassels on their garments long; they love the place of honor at banquets and the most important seats in the synagogues*;*”

Isn’t this called “Associating partners with God”? Isn’t this creed in place so he could achieve what he begged for in the hadith above?

From Muslims point of view its not, but someone has to think why we have to say that always in our prayers, saying that once is enough, why keep repeating the same thing as if we would forget that he is a prophet.

this has been answered several times. God is only one . Muhammed (p) is a humble servant of God .

We ask God to bless Muhammed (p) as He blessed Prophet Abraham/Ibrahim(p).

Funny. I would you rather ask God to bless Reuben J.

We don’t pray and ask God, “Please dear God, bless Abraham, bless Isaac and bless Jacob”. But if we do it is because we thought their souls need God’s mercy and forgiveness and that God be gracious to them, like how we use to pray for the souls of the departed.

Of course there is nothing wrong to pray for the soul of Mohammad. I just thought that you guys think he was kinda didn’t sin.

They cannot for that is reserved only for Mohammad. A Muslim will only come to your aid if you’re a fellow Muslim.

Muhammad is the messenger of Allah; and those who are with him are strong against Unbelievers, (but) compassionate amongst each other. - Al-Fath 48:29

Remember the tsunami of 2004? Muslims gave aid to fellow Muslims first, then attended to non-Muslims.

Maybe it would be more correct if Muslims just say they are cult followers. Followers of Mohammad precisely. Maybe the term Mohammadans is right after all. Maybe Islam is not a loving religion.
