Are you saying one may abstain entirely, or one may vote for a third party (judged incapable of winning)?

I’m not from USA so I’m blessed.

A lot of people who refuse to vote for the lesser of two evils could do harm IMO. Because then the bigger evil could easily be elected. Doing nothing might cause more harm than you would think. Maybe voting for a 3rd party is okay? Idk over here we have 4 candidates for president lol 😦 however some of you make valid points. But then again, it sounds good in theory but you would probably regret it when things start happening

But the problem is how people define evil. Someone will think that a candidate who is anti abortion but is pro war, racist, sexist, etc etc is less evil than a candidate who is pro abortion but anti everything else that is seen as evil. And etc.

You see, a lot of people think abortion is more evil than racism, unjust war etc (personally I have a problem with this. If you are pro life, you better be pro life for people who are already born as well instead of caring for fetuses and then whining about how poor people are so annoying bc of tax dollars etc when they are struggling to raise the baby that you forced them to keep BUT I DIGRESS). Some people think abortion is not wrong (which is not true)

You can never get a clear answer. Especially when politicians will lie about their stance on stuff to gain popularity.

I think it is OK to vote for a qualified third party candidate. In Russia and several other European countries, they have more than two parties. I don’t see any Catholic or more generally any Christian teaching which says you are morally required to have only two parties and forbids a vote for a third party candidate.

Communism is Satanic.
What do you think about a governmental system, such as the USA, which allows the murder of 700000 unborn children per year? And the American Democratic nominee for President, Hillary Clinton, enthusiastically endorses the right to abortions as she calls for people to change their religious beliefs in this regard.

A government system that allows that is close to communism.
