That won’t wash. To allow innocents to suffer cannot be justified, and the animals are definitely innocent of any wrongdoing. Obviously God is not powerful to create an environment where only the guilty will suffer but the innocents will not. Or maybe he just did not care?Actually, it can be attributed to (your: “blamed on”) man’s free will to have chosen sin over God in Eden!
