The mixed signals regarding the economy’s health are taking a toll. Americans are growing increasingly doubtful about direction of the US economy, according to the latest**** survey**** from business-advisory firm AlixPartners.

In fact, an increasing number, some 61 percent, say they don’t expect to return to their respective pre-recession lifestyles until the spring of 2014, if ever.

What’s worse, a full 10 percent said they expect they will never return to pre-recession spending.

As long as Uncle Ben continues to print Zimbabwe dollar and Obama goes on vacations while fooling 51% of Americans, life is good.

On a serious note, bringing manufacturing back to the United States is the only thing that will save us.

I recently heard that the American dollar could collapse in a number of years because of spiraling American debt, not a pleasant scenario. Selling manufactured goods may be the only way out.

We pretty much sold out most of our mfg. base to the global economy…I and others have been preparing for this for years…I sold our place and used the equity to get debt free…We stock up constanly and have provision to go 6 mo. or more…Invested in a metal detector because of what gold/silver is getting…Finding a 64 and earlier quarterwill get you about $3.00. We do canning, drying freezing…People are ditching treasuries…We have been downgraded because of debt…Even our investors are putting investments. away from any govt./muni debt…

Good idea.

I got out of debt too. I have a container garden now… I have never done that.

I dont see a better future for me… and I am worried for my son’s future. Never in my life have I felt this way.

These are dire predictions, to be sure, and I agree with most of them. To what do you attribute this situation and how can we get out of it?

Vote out career politicians in 2012.

And definately… vote out Obama.

Won’t do any good. A number of Tea Party candidates took office in this last election, and even though they have tried, we still have a mess. Defund the czars—Obama finds the money elsewhere. Try to get the budget cut—and the best that could be done was 31 billion. And on and on it goes.

New York just elected a Democrat that campaigned against any Medicare cuts. You have the public unions and teachers demanding their entitlements in Wisconsin and elsewhere around the country-- no matter what the consequences to their states would be. The American people simply won’t stand for any meaningful cuts, and Congress is going to continue spending us right off an economic cliff

Get out of debt, lay up some food and a garden. It’s going to get really rough.

And more Americans are probably right. I don’t think it will ever recover either. It may get a little better but I doubt we’ll ever fully recover.

This administration is doing it purposefully. The IMF and other constructors of the global world order need to knock the US down a few pegs so that we are easier to control. A nation in debt is a slave.

The deconstruction and dedevelopment of the U.S. economy is certainly being done deliberately.

But it can be undone, as well.

There are some things that we can produce, here and now … and in huge, valuable quantities.

We have vast amounts of natural gas that we have only in the past two years learned how to safely extract. We can convert our economy to a natural gas base and use the natural gas to manufacture liquid fuels … methane (natural gas) can be converted to methanol (a liquid that can be used in cars, trucks and planes) … and as feedstocks for plastics and other “petro-chemicals” to manufacture other products.

We already have a huge natural gas infrastructure in place and it is not a big deal to let it expand. [Well, actually, it IS a big deal, but there is no reason for the government to get involved. They have already demonstrated their ability and interest in screwing things up.]

We have vast amounts of coal, which is a valuable product … the FEDERAL EPA has shut down 79 West Virginia open pit coal mines and thrown hundreds of miners out of work. That coal is valuable … either as fuel for making electricity or for export.

We have the technology to increase our energy from nuclear from 20% now to 80% … same as France … the technology in Japan was long obsolete … and it was the tsunami … way worse than predicted … that put the Japanese reactors out of commission. Even so, the reactors performed better than predicted … it was the tanks used to store the expended fuel that had the major problem. The industry has developed better technology since those Japanese reactors were built.

The situation is really not hopeless. BUT it does mean taking down the FEDERAL rules and regulations and the hundreds of nameless agencies that have popped up like mushrooms after a rain storm.

Allegedly smart people working in the government do not give us a stronger economy.

Those people who think they are so smart … they give us people like that Weiner guy with his stupid photos.

It’s these “people” in the government who are messing things up, either by incompetence, or lack of intelligence, or deliberate economic sabotage. They have to be sent home and their precious rules and regulations need to be deleted. That would liberate the economy.

And more Americans are probably right. I don’t think it will ever recover either. It may get a little better but I doubt we’ll ever fully recover.
Not as long as we have a vastly expanded government working as hard as they can to regulate the productive sector into the ground.

We have the technology (German and South African technology) to convert coal or natural gas into any liquid fuel we want. We could be energy independent in 5-10 years. Imagine the jobs it will create if we invest in those technology. I would say it will create more jobs than that stupid solar technology that everyone seems to like.

Yeah, but we don’t want to use German or South African technology because they are not politically correct.

For the same reason that the desert Arab states will NEVER use Israeli developed technology for water resources.

That is sad to see. Americans needs real hope. We need better leadership in America, those that lead from the front, not behind. Thought Investors Business Daily’s article was informative on the nations jobs slump, poor economy and what can be done to turn things around.

Editorial: Jobs Slump — It’s The Policy, Stupid

Even so, President Obama on Friday visited Chrysler workers, lauding the government’s bailout for the re-emergence of the auto industry, which has added 113,000 jobs over the last two years.
What he didn’t say was that GM, the bailout’s poster boy, lost taxpayers $14 billion, and the total cost of his stimulus and bailout plan has now risen to $830 billion.
Obama was unflappable. “This economy took a big hit — it’s taking a while to mend,” he told Chrysler workers, reciting high gas prices, Japan’s earthquake and the Mideast as the “head winds” facing the economy.
How about the head wind of bad government policies that, based on Congressional Budget Office data, have cost the economy over $760 billion in lost economic output in the past two years — and millions of jobs?
This lost output is the Obamanomics growth tax. Too much tinkering, too much debt, too much spending.
“By failing to alleviate the uncertainty businesses are feeling, Washington continues to stifle hiring,” said Chamber of Commerce economist Martin Regalia.
This “uncertainty,” by the way, is why businesses, with their $2 trillion in cash, stay on the sidelines. At this point in a recovery, they should be adding hundreds of thousands of workers each month.
That they aren’t is a damning indictment of Obama’s big-spending, high-debt, Keynesian strategy that has emerged as one of the great failures of economic policy-making in modern times.

We CAN turn this mess around, but first we need to vote out the wrecking crew that is currently in office.

I think it’s just going to get worse and worse unless we wake up and begin to view globalism, the global economy etc the way we’re told to view Al-Qaeda.

INteresting take on who is councelling the President on job creation:

…GE CEO Jeffrey Immelt. This is the man tapped to lead the new era of job creation in this country. In just one decade, GE went from employing 313,000 people—168,000 in this country—to having only 134,000 American workers.

President Obama is also seeking advice from the American Express CEO. The same month the council was formed, the credit card company announced plans to close a customer service center in North Carolina - cutting 1,500 jobs. That’s after 4,000 layoffs in 2009 and 7,000 in 2008.

President Obama is getting advice from Citigroup Chairman Richard Parsons. This is a company that, during the recession, laid off more than 50,000 employees and took $45 billion in taxpayer money just to survive.

This is just a sampling of the kind of people who have the president’s ear. Is it no wonder we’re stuck on stupid?
