Violence against priests and nuns, and attacks on parishes and Catholic schools, continued in recent days in the Democratic Republic of the Congo, according to the Fides news agency.

Why are nuns being sent to the congo in the first place? Can’t they sent monks instead if its that dangerous?

I did not see anything in the article to indicate the nuns are foreigners who were sent to the DRC, so I assume they are native Congolese.
