I hope the diocese does not back down. Political correctness and faux equality should not rule the day.
Heaven forbid women were able to excel in a common sport. It’s bad enough they are educated and have become CEO’s of multi million dollar companies, scientists, engineers, telephone line workers, professors, mathematicians, inventors, innovators. Goodness knows after they were granted to right to “vote”, it started to go downhill from there. They started to want to drive a car, buy a car, own a car, buy their own home, invest in their 401K, all without “permission” from their husbands or the government. Instead of going to college to get their “MRS” degree, they decided to start a career, make their “own” money and then settle down. Very wise in this economy.
And now our federal government said they can be in the front lines in combat. I don’t know, with an AR15 going off they might break a nail.
Why do you say so? Because, as far as I know, there are no commonly integrated sports.

Geez louise, they want to play hockey, football, basketball, baseball over softball. They should be happy with croquet and badminton. Oh, and boxing, can you believe it, boxing
much a do about nothing. If a girl/woman has the physical, mental and desire to play football, she should be able to play, period. She should be drafted based upon her abilities to play the game and play it well, just like the boys.
Reminds me of a wise Priest I used to know, who was head of a Catholic high school, back about 30 yrs ago. It seems a female student became pregnant, and the school board decided to suspend her based on her moral conduct. This wise Priest asked if the father of the child was a student at the Catholic high school. The answer was yes. He called the parents of both parties, the school board for a meeting. The school board had the Diocese blessing to suspend the girl. The Priest on the other hand, said, “Well, then we must suspend the boy as well.” The school board was shocked…whatever for? The Priest said, he is just as culpable, is he not?" But…but…the parents of the boy said, he is the quarterback for the football team, he has a game on Saturday, you can’t…that’s not fair…" The school board chimed in and agreed with the boys parents, The Priest said, “well, I can’t help that, rules are rules. Either they are both suspended or they both stay in school.” Imagine that, it’s the “girls” fault and she pays the price for the pregnancy and the boy goes on to win one for the team. Rah, Rah. Long story short, they both stayed in school and were not suspended. I believe it was because of football. Go figure.
-The fact you think soldiers use AR-15s indicates you have no real knowledge of what you are talking about in regards to the recent actions of the government in regards to women and the military. Do some research and you’ll find that the government is actually ignoring scientific research which proves that women can’t reach and or maintain the same level of physical strength and endurance without dramatically increasing injury rates and health risks. Heaven forbid we should make an distinctions based on gender. Oh the horror. It must mean females are inferior and males are superior. That is the only conclusion we can draw from this evil decision. It is about oppression. Men and women are exactly the same. Like cogs in a machine. Totally interchangeable. These gender constructs are made by men to enslave women. We all know there is no differences except what society makes up. Mean old Church. How dare they!
Exactly. Any difference is deemed inequality. We must be the same in every way or it is unjust. Equality is the god we strive for. Anything less is immoral and oppressive.
I think a very good case can be made for that. The damage done to growing bodies is just as dangerous to boys as to girls.

If she is qualified to play and “knows” the risks…she should be able to play.
Calling it a limitation is redefining things. Can a man play on a women’s volleyball team? Is that a limitation? Why are distinctions wrong?
Explain to me how a minor female child can be deemed competent enough to “know” the health risks associated with engaging in sports on a male level but is deemed not competent enough when it comes to civil and criminal law, health care (except, for some reason, getting an abortion), finances, and living on her own without a legal guardian.
