Mormon Church changes to appeal to millenials?

One of the things we’ve done from that article, is sever ties to the Boy Scouts. Waiting for you folks to join us. I’ve heard from more than one Catholic that they’re wondering what is taking so long.
 
Yeah, that was definitely a good thing. I’m an Eagle Scout and was often in charge of collecting for the Friends of Scouting for my wards. I hated asking for money to support an organization that I didn’t care for and wouldn’t support myself. In my opinion, Rusty did the right thing there.

I believe the biggest issue was sexual abuse occurrences, cover ups, and basically not believing boys when they told was mainly LDS/Boy Scout groups. I’m sure if you really dug deep into it, the LDS reason for cutting ties with scouts would be for letting girls in rather than all the sexual abuse going on in LDS troops.

While I have respect for Mormons, Muslims, and others who believe God can change (e.g., X is moral today but not moral tomorrow), a changeable God is neither biblical (Mal. 3:3) nor logical. God by definition is perfect and a perfect God cannot change.

San Juan Catholic Seminars publishes two short, excellent books going into this, one specifically addressing Mormonism (Volume 2) and another for Islam (Volume 9). They are sold here at Catholic Answers Shop.

We only hear about this group because it is kind of seeded in American history.
As far as I’m concerned it’s no different in the narrative than any Iglesia Ni Cristo or Luz Del Mundo.

Those are interesting words. “More honest” is somewhere in between less honest and completely honest. I don’t for a minute believe that the brethren are being completely honest. They only tell what they can no longer suppress thanks to things like a few honest historians and the Internet.

I know, right? As a Catholic, most of the changes I saw were pretty irrelevant to me. But when I saw that one, my curiosity was piqued. If your religion isn’t being honest about its history to begin with, maybe there’s a problem there.

If you find it hard to believe, perhaps you’d be interested in the Joseph Smith Papers project, which aims to digitize and publish every single document in existence created by Joseph Smith or his staff or contemporaries, including documents received. It may interest you to know that we’re so good at this sort of thing, the Vatican Apostolic Library has partnered with us on some joint projects to digitize stuff out of the Vatican archives.
 
Got better things to do than read some papers about some Freemason fraud.
 
I left that cult when i was 18.
I know all about their history.
I still have their “bishop” harassing me to come back and it’s been 10 years.
Told them to take me off of the membership but they never do. It’s so annoying. I am ashamed I spent 6 months on a mission for that group spreading such nonsense.
 
Will these papers include the copies of his arrest for fraud during his divining days…where he also found treasure by looking into a hat?

It’s a serious question as I’m honestly interested in how honest they will truly be?
 
If the records exist, yes. They’re probably already up there - the project is several years old. It’s a scholarly project adhering to accepted standards.
 
He got what was coming to him when he was killed honestly. He burned down a newspaper and was sleeping with members wives. Saying it was a message from God. Thats how all cult leaders act. They used to justify it that he was engaging in it with murdered members wives but lol, one of the girls was 14 years old!!!
 
The Joseph Smith papers is a project carefully crafted to tell the truth in a very dishonest and deceptive way. It’s very cleverly done. It’s just another attempt at lying for the Lord.
