**Christians don’t build temples. We are the temple that Christ builds. **

Christians building temples is a 100% revolution in Christian theology, and therefore not Christian theology. It lends itself to a salvation by works mentality, which reminds me of another supposedly Christian-esque, or Christian-safe (say they, at least) sect : the Freemasons, who likewise are temple builders.

Be weary of wolves’ in sheeps clothing : There is only one True Church, and there’s absolutely zero gurantee that any other “church” will be “good.”

Pax,
Tim
In Freemasonry, which is not a sect, religion nor a substitute for religion, “temple” means “place of knowledge” and should not be confused with a “house of worship”.

One of the more underrated Bible passages. Thanks for referencing that one. 👍
You are welcome ! And all are welcome to meditate and investigate!

The fact is Jesus said He would be with His Church forever, unless the LDS can be substantiated in antiquity, or they would like to embrace the Gnosticism,{and I discern this to be the case.}So I would just remind all, Lucifer also used scripture after all he was God’s #1 angel at one time.
There is one true Church this is what Jesus prayed for ! And this is what He gave us :Matt 16: 18 And I tell you, you are Peter, and on this rock I will build my church, and the powers of death shall not prevail against it.
19 I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven, and whatever you bind on earth shall be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven."

A good definition of Gnosticism : “The kingdom of heaven may be compared to a man who sowed good seed in his field; but while men were sleeping, his enemy came and sowed weeds among the wheat, and went away. So when the plants came up and bore grain, then the weeds appeared also. And the servants of the householder came and said to him, Sir, did you not sow good seed in your field? How then has it weeds?' He said to them, An enemy has done this.’ The servants said to him, Then do you want us to go and gather them?' But he said, No; lest in gathering the weeds you root up the wheat along with them. Let both grow together until the harvest; and at harvest time I will tell the reapers, Gather the weeds first and bind them in bundles to be burned, but gather the wheat into my barn’” (Matt. 13:24-30).

Bottom line if Christianity failed even for one instant Christianity is a lie,and Jesus is a liar.

Posted this a couple days ago thought it proper here also.

One more thought and Question ? Is Jesus so weak He needed to reinvent the wheel 15, 16, 17,or 18 hundred years later ?

God bless

You’re lucky you are saying that HERE, Po18guy. If you so much much as whisper “Mormons are Not Christian” publicly, you get your head handed back to you.

Mormons are not on the “we’ll ruin your life” mode of let’s say, Scientologists, but they ARE ferociously protective of certain assumptions about their faith.

Witness what happened when Al Sharpton said the same thing publicly----Mitt Romney, Glenn Beck, and half the media was tearing him a new rectum within hours. He even had to go on Beck’s show and overexplain himself all over the place.
So you are lucky, believe me. :o
It is the elephant in the Mormon living room. Someone has to point this out, as I see relativism running rampant here, especially if the OP actually is “Catholic”.

What some seem to forget is that Christ’s Church (let’s say Catholic and non) is the one authority on earth who declares the truth about Christ. Man, in the person of Joseph Smith or any other, does not. What should offend, if not concern each and every Catholic - every Christian, is that the LDS organization specifically proselytizes Catholic/Christian nations.

This is not just a matter of competition, it is the eternal loss of souls via a false “prophet”.

By way of full disclosure: You can paint as positive a picture of freemasonry as you want, but it is still shrouded in secrecy. You are on a Catholic site among Catholics, whose Church has examined freemasonry since its inception and found it incompatible with Christianity. I would think that one would be more concerned with eternal salvation than worldly and privileged membership - no matter how “good” the organization appears to the eye.

Please read the quote of St. Paul provided by Rebecca above 🙂

Furthermore, sophistry and word-smithing don’t make that nefarious religious sect any less sectarian or religious. It certainly doesn’t redeem it for all its lies and filthy oaths that can but only pervert the morality and conscience of the hoodwinked fellows who perform those profane and blasphemous rituals. Freemasonry is a man-made religion that is engineered to slip into society and masquerade as “one of the boys.”

“Freemasonry is a unique system of morality…”

A system of morality ? Like, say, Buddhism, or Christianity, or Islam… or any and every religion ?

“Veiled in allegory”

Like all authentic religion.

“And illustrated with symbols.”

Just like a religion.

If it walks like one, talks likes one, and acts like one…

Pax,
Tim

Well here is what it will look like
Wow! I have never seen a “Catholic” so excited about such a development. You sure demonstrate that old “burning in the bosom” Just so we know, would you be so kind as to define “Catholic” for us, since the LDS can and do use lies and deception in the furtherance of their organization? Thank you.

I’m not “painting” a positive picture of freemasonry; I’m just giving the facts.

I understand, acknowlege and respect the fact that the RC forbids membership in Freemasonry for various stated reasons, however the facts are the facts whether you agree with them or not and neither you or I can change them.

You and I will just have to agree to disagree.

Tim, Thanks for your response. I think you and I will have to agree to disagree on this topic.

I was thinking the same thing. Catholics really wouldnt give the idea or it much more than a passing glance.

They simply wouldnt care all that much.

Stormy99,
I didn’t mean the Holy Father, although I’m sure he would be welcomed. I meant some of the other leaders who may have occasion to meet with him from time to time. (Maybe they’d tell him something about their visit.)
**That might be doubtful…I can’t see why they would be one bit interested in the temple. Of course I could be wrong…been wrong many times before.

I know from experience your temples are beautiful, well most of them…like Catholic churches some are some aren’t…but while you can come to my Catholic Church and sit and pray anyway you like because no one would no…the favor is not returned…I never felt the presence of God in the SM…ever…

We’ll just have to see if anyone the Holy Father meets with goes to the dedication…

Catholick345,

If you are being deceitful in your real religious identification or identity in general, please stop.

There are Mormons here on the board who are here in good faith and clear as to who they are and what they believe. I respect that and them.

I don’t respect deceitfulness whatever the motivation.

Thanks 👍

**Sure wish their were some crosses on this LDS temple instead of just Moroni…might make it look more Christian…

Lack of crosses has got to stick out big time in Rome…Make it look really odd ball and that could very well lend itself more to the idea that Mormons arent Christians in the way most of the world thinks of Christian.

I used to be LDS, that is why I called you out on it. 😉 I take it you missed my post earlier in the thread that I used to enjoy the peace and quiet of the celestial room. So that means I used to wear the temple garment.

I will call out anyone who misrepresents or denigrates either Catholic or Mormon teaching and doctrines.

And I disagree with your view that I called you a liar. What I said was that I didnt know if you were aware that you were baring false witness. Which means I gave you the benefit of the doubt that you may have spoken in ignorance of not knowing the facts 🙂

I can see where, though, if I can added an emoticon that may have come thru more clear.
I can accept that. Like I said, I myself should have put the Underpants comment in quotes. I was being sort of ironic.

I see you wwere not calling me a liar per se, but you were simply saying I was declaring something untrue without quite realizing it was untrue. Actually, I knew the truth about the Temple garment, but I was guilty of negligence in not making that clear. Typing too fast tends to rot the brain a little bit. 🙂

OTOH, I did think you were calling me a liar, but I relaize now you were not. For that, my regrets. 🙂

Correct.

Yea my brain often so much faster than my fingers too!!! 😃
Gets me in to trouble all the time… LOL 😉

My apologize as well for not formulating a more clear post. 👍

Im NOTORIOUS for that…makes me come off as a friendly cow let loose in a china shop sometimes. 😊

Friendly, but always bumping into things… 😃

I like your relativism! And, for something that is “not a substitute” for religion, you consistently defend masonry with religious fervor!

Thank you.

When you have strong convictions about something, especially if you are a part of it, it’s only natural to defend in what you believe. Much like those in here who believe that Freemasonry is a religion; I’d expect them to defend their beliefs, otherwise why engage in discussion?

Your posts that I’ve seen are much more fervently mason than Episcopal, that’s all.
