At 86 years old, I think my tact would be just to let her know that you love her and that you pray for her. Show her your faith by your actions. She does not hear your words.
Well Steve, we have been friends for a long time, and really enjoying our yakking. I have changed her mind about many things Catholic now:thumbsup:

:bigyikes: Really? Is it common practice still? Yet they claim to be “restoring” Christ Church?
No it’s not. You just make promises now not to tell temple secrets. No slittling of throats or promises of killing people.

No, the lds god changed his mind again when pressure from ex-Mormons got too great (they were telling what went on in temples) The same with women vowing to obey husbands. I think that changed too, Also, I think they stopped portraying a Catholic priest as an agent of Satan

In the Jewish Temple, God dwelt within the Holy of Holies. In the Catholic Church our Tabernacle is the Holy of Holies because God dwells there as well. What is in the LDS Holy of Holies?
Encyclopedia of Mormonism:
In ancient times, through divine instruction to Moses, the Holy of Holies was made the center of the tabernacle (Ex. 25-27). It was a fifteen-foot cube formed by hanging veils made of goat hair, ram skins, and other dyed skins. Some were embroidered with figures of cherubim in blue, purple, and scarlet. The Holy of Holies was designated as the repository for a chest called the ark of the covenant. This chest, constructed of gold-plated acacia wood, was the place of the stone tablets inscribed by the hand of God, and the resting place for the mercy seat. Fashioned in one piece of fine gold, this seat, with cherubim engraven above it, formed the visible throne for the presence of God. Once a year, on the day of Atonement, the high priest entered the Holy of Holies and sprinkled sacrificial blood over the mercy seat as expiation for Israel’s sins. Though the ark has disappeared, this ritual was continued in the temples of Zerubbabel and Herod.
A latter-day Holy of Holies has been dedicated in the great temple in Salt Lake City. It is a central chamber adjoining the celestial room. Beyond its sliding doors are six steps to similar doors, symbolic of the veil that guarded the Holy of Holies in ancient times. The sanctuary is of circular design with a domed ceiling. The appointments include inlaid wood, gold leaf, stained glass, and unique lighting. The presiding high priest, the President of the Church, controls access to this sanctuary.
The Holy of Holies is the place where God speaks directly to the prophet. The temple is the House of the Lord, the Holy of Holies is where He gives audience to the Prophet. We hold it with the same reverence the Israelites did.

So many “sacred” things have changed in mormonism. Penalties, polygamy, endowments etc. It would seem that these “unchangeable” commands from “Heavenly Father” of the mormons would not be discarded so easily, and changed so readily. But…I guess that the god of the mormons changes his mind rather easily in order to conform to the world, rather than the mormon world conforming to him.
