I’m sort of jumping into the middle here, but there are some things that need to be said and as most of you have never been “Mormons” then you don’t know what they believe. I was a very active Mormon for 22 yrs and I can tell you beyond a shadow of a doubt that they are NOT Christians!
When you say we are not Christian, you mean that we do not believe the trinity. We believe in God the father, Jesus Christ his son our Savior, and The holy ghost as being 3 separate individuals. They can not possibly all be one ? Do they just talk to themselves in the scriptures ?? “Forgive them father for they know not what they do “? He is talking to himself ? forgive them myself ?
- To begin with, when they say that “they believe the Bible to be the word of God,” they swallow the rest of the statement that goes like this: …“as far as it is translated correctly.” I would say that pretty much speaks for itself!
This is correct, we do believe the bible to be the word of God, as long as it is translated correctly ! there are new versions of the bible printed all the time by different means. We use the King James Version the same as Catholics do and we believe those words to be the Word of God.
- In all the years that I was a Mormon, they never referred to Jesus as Jesus, but rather as “The Christ.” And don’t listen for any discussion on the blood of Jesus because it just wasn’t there. Maybe it is typed into a book somewhere, but at Church and in speaking to the members, “the Blood” was NEVER discussed!
This I do not believe, I have never even heard of him being called just “The Christ” !!! He is Jesus Christ our Savior, or Jesus, or Christ but not “The Christ”… The blood I do not know what you are refering to other than we recognize the blood that was shed for us when we take the sacrement and drink the water ??
3.In the Bible the Father is spoken of as “Spirit,” while the Mormons believe that He has been seen by men, along with Jesus, as a personage of flesh and bone. Now, Catholic or Protestant, we do NOT believe that the Father has a fleshly body!
Isa. 6: 1, 5
1 In the year that king Uzziah died I **saw **also the Lord sitting upon a throne, high and lifted up, and his train filled the temple.
5 Then said I, Woe is me! for I am undone; because I am a man of unclean lips, and I dwell in the midst of a people of unclean lips: for mine eyes have
seen the King, the Lord of hosts.
Acts 7: 55-56
55 But he, being full of the Holy Ghost, looked up stedfastly into heaven, and
saw the glory of God, and Jesus standing on the right hand of God,
56 And said, Behold, I
see the heavens opened, and the Son of man standing on the right hand of God.
Scripture confirms The seeing of God and his son Jesus Christ. Unless you do not believe the bible to be the word of God ?? I can go on but 4 scrips is sufficient
- I also had a Mormon Bishop tell me once that I could go to Hell for drinking a “drop” of coffee, not just a cup of it. Brothers and Sisters, does sound like our beliefs?
Brothers and Sisters ?? are you still in sacrament ? IF this were true then Your bishop had short comings just as the history of the Popes do, and the priests that molest little boys. Nothing different here.
And what about their beliefs that “God” lives near the planet “kolob” and with wives populates his own worlds? AND that we can go on to become Gods and with a spouse, populate our own worlds? Ladies, beware, only your husband can lead a harem of wives…you get only one husband,…sorry. One of you earlier spoke of this belief and not one of you replied to it. Surely you Catholic’s and or Protestants recognize craziness when you hear it; or are we slipping it under the rug and not seeing it for what it is?
You are taking a very big short cut in explaining the plan of salvation, the pre existence and what lies ahead for all. I have not heard of any plan from the Catholics or “Christians” as to the after life ? what we all just hang around on clouds and eat bon bons for eternity ?? This is a very boring existence to think of FOREVER !! what is the afterlife plan ??
You are an uncorrect example of what a mormon is. Very sad.
