yes, I am sure that they have their own banking system, just as the Vatican does.

Do they have all of our criminal records? I should hope not … I hope no one has mine…:o

Lol, I can imagine.

I go to become a priest, and before I do, someone looks at my ‘Catholic Records’ saying “Hmm… says here you went to mass 3 times between the ages of 14 through 16”

Or "And you yawned and closed your eyes for a full 30 SECONDS when the Bishop was giving that 2 hour homily back in 99’ "

xD

With love and grace,

LOL! That sounds like a “Lost” script!
No, I meant “criminal records” as in what you’d find down at the police department. :rotfl:

Lol, but can you imagine? “Catholic Criminal Records”? 😃

Oh… I crack myself up… :rotfl:

Let me ask you this? Does the Catholic Church own its own country? Do they not have a lot of money? Do they not weigh in on policy matters around the world? Does the United States not have an ambassador to the Vatican?

I see the fear about who owns what to be interesting…but, as JPII often said “BE NOT AFRAID!”
I don’t see these questions to be equally compared to the question of wether or not Walmart and Walgreens are owned by the Mormon Church.

Those who go to Rome know they are going to a Catholic country. The money the Catholic Church owns has been given to them. The Catholic Church does not secretly own grocery stores or the like and make it’s money through commerce. She gets it from people who tithe, and who give their money through donations and sign it over in their will.

For me it is not about “fear” at all. It’s genuine concern about where my money goes.
“BE NOT AFRAID” is right! We already know who wins the final battle!

Might need to read this book as I am Catholic and my daughter joined the Mormon church a year ago and is raising both of my grandchildren in that church. Although my 5 year old grandson stills goes to Mass with me if Mom lets him stay over on saturday night. I want her to come back so badly, but I don’t want to push her away either so I try not to say much unless she seems to want to discuss her faith a little. So I will continue to pray and pray as long as it takes. Jesus will take of it his way. Thanks for the info.
I will pray for you, your daughter, son-in-law and grandbabies! Keep your grandson close to you and he will seek out the Catholic Church at some point.

Correction: The Church is not free from all error. A quick look at history will show you that. The Church has also apologized for past actions–the crusades, the Inquisition–because they were in error. The infallibility of the Church and Pope is in regards to it’s doctrines on faith and morals.

See paragraphs 890, 891

The Church is a work in progress. The doctrine of the Blessed Virgin Mary’s assumption was announced in the last century, I believe.
not only that, but Jesus Himself mintioned that the Church would not be of 100% purity and will go through many difficulties and struggles. why he even warned us through Simon I believe, that the devil would try and seperate us along the way.

Actually that is not really true. The Leader’s of the Church may make mistakes. The RCC has never denied that. But the Teachings of the Church would never be wrong. How could they, they have never been changed from the time of Jesus.

That is what upsets people the most about the RCC, they think the teachings should change with the times. It will never happen, who would have the authority to change them.

That is what the RCC is here for to keep us true to the teaching’s of the church. There is not one thing in the bible that goes against the teachings of CHrist. How could there be. What is the bible, it is the teachings of the Catholic Church.

No one can back that up. I can’t prove it, just had an idea because of the things that I’ve seen and been told. All the clues seem to lead to that in my mind, but it’s just a theory I’m researching. Who am I to say for certain? :bluelite: <–Guess the blue light makes me special, har har!
Another question though: Is it true that the LDS Church has a large database of personal information about folks from all around the world? Is it just members of the LDS Church, or everyone? I know about the genealogy stuff, but is there more, like say criminal records, addresses, credit history, etc? Just a question. I’ve also heard the LDS church has it’s own banking and mortgage lender system.
I don’t know if that is true, but it is definitely plausible. I know that they do have such a database, but right after 9-11, President Bush hired Darwin Johns to be CIO of the FBI after he had served the last 18 years as CIO of the Mormon Church. His project was a huge failure, though, and they ended up trashing it rather than pour more money into it. I think he lasted about 18 months in that job.

I looked it up, and as far as I can see the 2 W’s are NOT owned by the LDS church, but we don’t know about members. They couldn’t even be owned by the same person/people because I now remember a fight they’ve been having, since a state (can’t remember which one) wants to ban selling cigarettes by drugstores (including Walgreens) but nothing was said about Walmart, so cigs being a huge source of income for drugstores, and Walmart being a major competitor, they naturally fought it. I don’t know the outcome. Another thought I had: Why would any store owned by LDS allow the sale of cigarettes and liquor? LOL!
😉
What difference does it make who owns the stores. the question remains, ‘Why would anyone join the largest cult in the world, the Mormon Church’? They don’t know who God is. They teach Jesus is the brother of Lucifer. Does that sound Catholic to you?
Mormons call themselves christians but they follow the teachings of Joseph Smith. He died in a gun battle,
All of this can be found on the net. Look it up.

Who benifits from polygamy? perverts!
The Bible teaches one wife, but then Joseph wrote his own book. 😉 He had four or five.

God have mercy,

My understanding is that Wal-Mart is privately owned by the Walton Family. My understanding is that Albertson’s (a grocery store in the West) is owned by the LDS Church.

Jet Blue was owned by a Mormon (don’t know if it still is) but not by the Mormon Church. There are some very good Mormon business men - which one should not confuse with the LDS owning the businesses.
This is off the subject but were the Waltons on TV mormon?

Just a clarification–it was more like eleven wives–some sisters, some other men’s wives or so the Todd Compton’s book In Sacred Loneliness indicates. 😦 (Of course, it can also be confirmed on the LDS genealogical website.)

Here is what kill me, How can anyone consider themself a Christian, and then follow a leader who breaks one of the ten commandments:confused:

To all concerned,I just did a extensive study by an x-mason who did link mormonism with masonism, and it is linked to satanism. In fact Joseph Smith built his church on the bases of the mason steps and symbols, and the belief that the trinity is three Gods all seperate gods and that God impregnated Mary in the flesh as a man and then Mary became pregnant with Christ and thats blasphemy, also that Christ would not go to the celestials but to the trestials if you would only order their Book of Mormonyou wouldn’t want to associate with any of them I know,I just got through with studying with them because my grandaughter joined them in Utah and I wanted to know what they were all about their church is in rev. the seat of satan his throne, where he rules Smith was a Mason and so was his br.Hiram and they did practice phligamy until the U.S.A. said they would take their land and close them up so instead of loosing everything they stopped their practice, but one of them said ‘it could come back’ (they hope) I can say they have a very alluring spirit, and you can be fooled by it.If your smart get the book and dont let strangers in your house God Bless and good luck in your search. P/S There is only one gospel of Jesus Christ and not of man. They profess to love Jesus but serve satan. Nancy

Oh My Nanc:eek: That is really scarey. I could not imagine having anything to do with satan. Even the though of the devil makes me sick. It would be horrible to know that they were working together. I am sure many people, good people have no idea if this is true.

One has to get a reputable book regarding this whole Mormonism thing. And not just their book. Two of my cousins left the Catholic church to become Mormon. Have never seen them to talk about it. It’s all so strange to me. Why would you leave the Eucharist for this? I don’t get it, except to say that something in the family relationships must have gone awry. People are vulnerable and can be taken advantage of.

But I do know you need to read a good theologian who has written on this. Bashing is no good. They may have a totally different outlook on life. And not relate to us at all. I saw several episodes of BIG LOVE. Good grief. You would think the guy was addicted to sex. I didn’t get it. It was stressful to watch. And dividing.

Hi Sauce, They first of all they will not read anything that might be negative. They are taught not to,and you can guess why.The diaries of John D Lee 1848 sold by Juanita Brooks who is the auther, and also look up anti-mormonism these are the people who were once Mormons and found out the hard way, you’ll have to look up alot untill you get the right people because the Mormons have alot of sites, and casting your pearls can be a waist of time, prayers have a better effect.Letting people know what can hurt them is not bashing. For we are our brothers keeper.Thank you for your opinion, and God Bless You;Nancy.

Thanks Nancy. Did anyone see how Mormonism was used in the play “Angels in America” with Al Pacino and Meryl Streep?
It’s on DVD. The subject matter is harsh and somewhat hostile and some of the characters are Mormon and Jewish. It received critical acclaim. They think the playwright is brilliant. But you know, I still find some things to be bereft of deep spirituality. People suffer in a secular vacuum. It doesn’t turn me on.
