Yes, Nancy is quite charitable, much more than I can claim myself, although, mostly I just sound mean, when I’m just trying to cut to the chase. I hope everyone understands that. Us being good examples is going to win more hearts than winning an argument or even worse, character attacks, as I have been witness to and got caught up in once on here. 😊 I’m not perfect, but that doesn’t mean I don’t strive for it. Hey, maybe I’ll make that my catch phrase…
I digress. Good job, Nancy. 👍

Hey we are only human. I myself can take some lessons from Nanc!😛

Just a clarification–it was more like eleven wives–some sisters, some other men’s wives or so the Todd Compton’s book In Sacred Loneliness indicates. 😦 (Of course, it can also be confirmed on the LDS genealogical website.)
Actually, there is speculation, depending on the researcher, that Smith was “sealed for time and all eternity” to upwards of 60 women - some posthumously, and as young as 14.

Boy has this OP strayed!

The “Book of Mormon” is just that! A book on Mormon theology, which has little if anything in common with Christinity in general and Catholism in particular. Indeed it is anti Catholic and anti Christian! It is more of a “cult” than a “Faith.”

It is founded and practiced by those who knew more and knew better than to accept and follow the WORD of God, which is God!

For example they do not believe that Christ is God, that Jesus was crucified on a CROSS, or in the existance of Heaven and Hell as we understand them.

They do not have nor do they use a bible, any bible!

Mormons are not Christians! By denying Jesus they put there very souls at risk. What is the unforgivable sin?

Seems to me that these facts are far more revelant and important than some connection with WalMart!

May the celebration of the Christ Child help us discover love, peace and joy that can only be found in informed obedience of His Holy Word, and most fully filled in His Only Church!

Merry Chrsitmas and God’s continued blessings, may we follow the example of mary, the Mother of God!👍

That is wonderful. God Bless you. But sad to say:( Not all feel that way.
If this person is LDS and hanging out at a Catholic forum, I have to ask, “Why?” The two religions have absolutely nothing in common, especially doctine.

Why do you say they are not christian since the very name of their church is “The church of JESUS CHRIST of latter day saints” ?? They believe in God the father, his son Jesus Christ and the Holy spirit or Holy ghost as they call him. So what makes them not christian ?
“There will be many who come in MY name…” 'Do not add or subtract from this book."

“Beware of false prophets…you will know them by their fruits.”
Just putting that up there because I want to know what the “fruits” of the LDS Church are.
“Dumbfound me”

I guess it goes to the root of the matter, “Who is saved and who is right?”

Which cannot be determined based on denomination alone, however, not all denominations can effectively lead one to “salvation” either, right?

I just read that whole thing. Interesting and scary stuff.
Hi John,i'm glad you had some time to read it and I realy can see the end times are here.History channel had a show about before the flood and plural eves, and calling man gods.As you know the devil sneaks things in slow so you wont notice it and then pulls the rug out from under people, who are not informed.Hold fast to what you believe is true 1th 5:21 2nd th 2:15 2nd Tim 1:13 Heb 4:14 There robbing God and serving satan and cant see the forest through the trees.Mal 3:8 In his love Nancy:thumbsup:

Well, I don’t proclaim to be an expert on the LDS, though I have read quite a bit of their own doctrine and been to their worship services, but I don’t think their belief is that Christ is a “god” nor the Holy Spirit one either, unless you mean by the sense that all men have the potential to be like gods, in their eyes. The problem is that they do not believe in the Trinity at all, because to them, Christ is not God in an earthly form, as Catholics know to be true.

HI, I just had them come to my house this fall and they do believe in a trinity and 3 seperate gods, two from arizona came to our home and told us this.Ask next time you see the ones you know, and let me know. Mabe they are from the old school I wonder if they all teach the same in all their temples? Say if you celebrate Christmas have a wonderfull time. In Christ love Nancy.

Have to agree with Nancy. They teach three separate “personages” in their trinity–not three persons in one God. Elohim is their god with a body of “flesh and bone”. Jesus is “a” god with a body of “flesh and bone”, And the Holy Ghost is a god, without a body. (Reason I know this, is because daughter had converted and theiy teach their children this–“primary” lessons are hung on her refrigerator, plus I have had the “missionaries” canvass the neighborhood and visit many, many times.

Now LDS, is that the one that have the Church of Jesus Christ. OR claim they belong to the Church of Jesus Christ?
