So beyond spite, what is your point in posting this? I thought we aleady had an understanding that leadership in both churchs have sinned majorly in the past?

I thought Catholics believed in revelation and the holy ghost even speaking to lay people? The Holy Ghost IS GOD, right? I hope your pope is praying and hearing back from God.

Please try therapy to work through your extreme hatred of Mormons, I don’t think this is the right space for it.

Todd, Todd, Todd…why does anyone who posts truth have to have hatred? You are not to judge…right? I have no hatred. I have a calling to expose false prophets and Churches…I thought you believed in following a calling?

But having sins in the past is not the issue. The issue is a church where the leaders talk to God face to face can come up with all this ungodly stuff.

Just shows how false your “prophets” and “church” really are.
 
Oct 7, 1898 - At general conference Apostle John W Taylor reports that in one rural area, 80% of LDS marriages involve premarital sex.

Aug 9, 1991 - Salt Lake Tribune article, “Of LDS Women, 58% Admit Premarital Sex.”

How much you want to bet in 2010 the number is above 50%? So much for being “saints.”

What would the Catholic number be? To begin with 65% of LDS young women are inactive so their allegiance to the church is rather limited. When they grow up to be women they have the same activity rate. And what do they define as premarital sex? Intercourse? Petting? French kissing?

Tiki, did you play football when younger, and experience a concusion? I ask because your posts are often random and incomplete of thought:
  • How is chastity relevant to this thread? Why didn’t your introduce it properly (writing 101)
  • If you are implying LDS rates are high or low, you should be clear and provide supporting context
  • If you think LDS efforts to teach chastity are failing and ineffective (vs Catholic?), that would have been intersting discourse to read.

Gee, that was a mature statement to make, don’t you think?

I must admit though, it isn’t surprising based on your previous posts. You seem to have developed a pattern in your short time here at CAF. It is also a typical tactic that many mormon posters use. When you can’t refute/discuss attack the poster, and not the content.

Way to go!!

I don’t understand how it is important either. How many of the LDS women were active Mormon when they were teenagers? How many of them were even Mormon? Just a ridiculous statistic unless there is more information about what was being measured.

Please read the posts again. I suggested several ways he could improve his post so a proper discussion could take place. I don’t dispute his facts - but his point is not clear, beyond a sophmoric “mormons are bad” put down.

Yep, you provided your “suggestions”, right after you attacked his intelligence. Which by the way was your opening comment on your post.

Now that is how you get people’s attention, and get them to work with you. 👍

  • Yes, my bad on the typo using your instead of you, glad you are reading diligently 🙂 I need to start typing in word so i can spell check posts.
Are you also going to contribute to the Chastity discussion, or do you agree the red herring “mormon bad” statement was the sole purpose of the post, and mission accomplished?
 
It is fruitless to discuss the acts of unfaithful members of one church or another. Do we judge the efficacy of a medicine based on the fate of those who refuse to take it?

The only things we should discuss about religions are what those religions teach and the validilty of any historical or scientific claims upon which they pin those teachings.

this thread was just an effort to show how far away from God the LDS Church really is. If you look at the short, yet contemporary history of the LDS Church, you just have to shake your head in amazement. And not the good kind of amazement.

When you read their quotes about blacks, about God, about Mary, about Adam, etc. And you see their acts as listed in the OP and on the website provided, no one with blinders off can believe the church is from God.

When you read their doctrine about God and Jesus, no one without blinders can believe they worship the same God.

We need to pray very hard for these people.

I saw the last 1/2 hour or so of a very interesting documentary this weekend called “The Lost Boys”, about teen boys ejected from Colorado City and the FLDS community. I know, “Its NOT the LDS”, but one can’t help but guess there would have been the same exact problems if the LDS had kept their policy of polygyny. Given that birth ratios are usually 50/50 for males/females, they would have faced the same issues with the “everlasting covenant”.

Given that Mormonism arose from Biblical fundamentalism, with a literal understanding of the Ten Commandments, its behavioral code, while strict, is narrower than that of Catholicism. The behavioral code of Catholicism is broad, and forgiving. When we note the past blots on Mormon history, we note that some of these blots are a result of that strict, unforgiving and narrow moral code.

When people believe that their sins cannot be forgiven, they refuse to acknowledge them, and sink deeper into sin.

Just to be clear, STM (a Catholic) started this thread for the express purpose of bashing the LDS faith.

I feel STM is the one that needs prayers :highprayer:

If it wasn’t for STM and a couple other rabid anti-mormon posters, the LDS faith would have a very small footprint on CAF. Inquiring minds will notice LDS members are not starting all these LDS threads, or keeping them alive after any initial questions are answered.

If it were not for the posters to whom you refer, people who are not familiar with the LDS Faith might believe people like you. We are here to clarify, teach, inform, and help. And it is working. Thank you.
