So to mention any kind of problem with statistical data with Mormons is the same as saying the technology is just not their to accurately convey the size or growth in faith of any religion.
fal,

Okay, you missed my point. My point was that the Mormon church is more interested in making itself look mainstream Christian and so gain new converts than it is in telling the truth about its basic theology.

Maybe tomorrow, i have class in 10 minutes so i can’t stay on the computer.

Your “answer” doesn’t make any sense.
Hi Falisrm,

Not to jump in and I do not intend to be offensive but I could not help myself as to offer the following.

Did a Mormon just say to a Catholic " your answer doesn’t make any sense " This indeed should be cut out, blown up, made in a glossy finish poster and hung on all the burger king’s doors in the southern hemisphere. 🙂 🙂 🙂

Peace,
Carl

Oh it does concern me. I am so worried about it. Everything they teach is a total lie, thats why i’m still waiting for Rebecca to answer my question.

fal, all that I can hope to do is point out what a grave thing it is that Mormonism is claiming. In essence, MOrmonism is claiming there is no GOD, just gods, supermen, who obey the preexisting laws of the cosmos. The real God, the one you ought to worry about, made those laws just as He created you. What point is there in devoting yourself to a religion which denies the ultimate Creator of everything?

You can write in to request to have your name removed if you want, but for me I don’t see the point.
You mean that you don’t mind being “hunted” down by the missionaries, home teachers and/or visiting teachers? I hear that finally getting off the roles will stop that.

No, I’m not Mormon–never have been–but some of my family is and I have a Mormon neighbor as well. And I don’t appreciate those visits from the missionaries (sometimes my Mormon neighbor even tries to hide from them if she’s wearing shorts or drinking cola) and some of my family aren’t too happy with the visiting teachers skulking around.

No one hunts me down… in fact since I’ve stopped showing up at my ward no one has bothered to ask me where I am at all, so I guess that takes care of that.

Have a really close LDS friend and when I read that to her she was a bit offended. Said you could not be both. I also think it is a bit stange, but will keep you in my prayers.

Both my Mormon and Catholic offline friends think it’s weird, but cool. My Mormon/cradle Catholic dad said he admired me for being able to sit through four hours of church every week.

Thanks for the prayers.
tsuzuki, I gotta ask, do you have a temple recommend? Does your bishop know that you are ‘in communion with Rome’? You may have an interesting philosophical stance that allows you to juggle both roles to your satisfaction, but somehow I doubt that LDS church authority would look kindly on that… is that so?

Uh, i was talking about accuracy and clarity about church statistics. And if you wanted to compare who is more accurate and clear about their statistics, the LDS church gets it hands down. They actually know every single person who was baptized into the church and knows every ordinance that has been done. Its still not perfect but thats what you get when everyone is a lay leader.
…And they count those who have already left as part of their membership. LDS statistics cannot be trusted.
