Ronyodish post No. 110
for tomshaikh,
The words of Jesus given directly to the Apostles, and words of the Holy Spirit given to the Apostles through Inspiration, have been preserved through the centuries and continues to this day. Apostolic Christians call the words of God to us as Holy Scripture and Holy Tradition.
** Rony, we know all these things. The words of Jesus given to apostles do not make him a God. He received the words just like earlier prophets got them from God. And those prophets remained prophets only. Nobody calls them God. Please see the OT. It is full of prophets.

Similarly, the words of holy spirit given to Jesus and the apostles cannot make the holy spirit into a god. Holy spiirt is an angel. That is a spirit from God. That holy spirit has been bringing messages to all prophets before Jesus. That holy spirit is a creature of god. It is not a god.

So there lies your problem of making God out of a mere messenger of god… That was jesus. Then you people made the messenger angel (the holy spirit) into another god. No doubt Jesus and the holy spirit are very important and quite holy persons. But they are not Gods.

I have just tried to explain a few things about Jesus and the holy spirit as we Muslims understand them.**

tomshaikh,

Whether I live or die, I belong to Jesus Christ. He is my Lord, God, and Savior. He lives in me, and I live in Him. He is my Head, and I am a member of His Body. He gives me His Body and Blood for food and drink. He consoles me, and cares for me. He loves me, and wants me to be with Him forever.

I pray to God always to give me the strength to persevere until the end. Christianity is the will of God. It is the will of God for all people. By the grace of God, I am a Christian forever!

God bless,

Rony

We also love Jesus as much as we love Muhammad and Moses. If you have not read the Quran then it would be good for you to do so now. It won’t harm you to read it. It is just another book from God as there was a previous book called Torah.

Please do not presume anything. Try to read the quran. If you have never read it yourself then try to do so now. After that, you may comment about Muhammad and the Quran. Thanks.**

It amazes me how people cannot see that God brings His Word to all people in their own languages, customs and cultures-yes, Christians believe Jesus wants them to preach the Good News to every one BUT He wants Christians to LIVE the Gospels by spreading peace and love. (Teach by example, not criticism.)
God will ask you: How much love was there in your evangelizing?-Not how many did you convince to agree with you

But first, one must be at peace with one’s self-then the beliefs of others are easier to understand.

Tom, I salute your faith and your compassion
** "Well said. This in fact is Islam.

The good deed is to be peaceful. Not to stir up trouble, nor to persecute any peaceful person for the sake of his religion. That is all. Let him remain a Christian or a Jew or a Hindu or a Budhist.
There is no harm for him or for any one else. Islam wants every one to be peaceful. Leave every one to their ideas.Preach very peacefully but do not force any one to accept ant thing. And also do not force any one to remain on any one faith. Let the people be free to decide
That is the essence of Islam. .**

Sorry but lets read Al-Quran. I am reading bible also and almost finish half way genesis chapter. And my religion say that believe on all prophets of islam. Which includes Jesus pbuh. I was born Muslim by birth. But now i study about my religion and come up that it is right religion. Same thing with you i guess. On one point you have to choose that my faith is right or wrong. So i choose right. thanks for saluting on my faith. I love Jesus and from this site i come to know about christianity. And i been in USA for 11 years almost never thought of converting and believe that jesus is son of god.

they have statues of jesus and mary in church and they bow on knee and do this three thing with their right hand of touching forehead and right and left shoulder.
Hi, Christians(Catholics) do not worship these statues.

The ten commandments.
1 And the Lord spoke all these words: 2 I am the Lord thy God, who brought thee out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage. 3 Thou shalt not have strange gods before me. 4 Thou shalt not make to thyself a graven thing, nor the likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or in the earth beneath, nor of those things that are in the waters under the earth. 5 Thou shalt not adore them, nor serve them: I am the Lord thy God, mighty, jealous, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children, unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me

This is what my bible commentry says
4 “A graven thing, nor the likeness of any thing”… All such images, or likenesses, are forbidden by this commandment, as are made to be adored and served; according to that which immediately follows, thou shalt not adore them, nor serve them. That is, all such as are designed for idols or image-gods, or are worshipped with divine honour. But otherwise images, pictures, or representations, even in the house of God, and in the very sanctuary so far from being forbidden, are expressly authorized by the word of God. See Ex. 25. 15, and etc.; chap. 38. 7; Num. 21. 8, 9; 1 Chron. or Paralip. 28. 18, 19; 2 Chron. or Paralip. 3. 10.
peace,

You have to understand from openmind. It is being 1429 years since Al-Quran came and its Verses is same as it is in a form of book at the time of Caliph Usman. Nothing changed till than. Bible is no more divine form but Al-Quran is in its divine form. Becaussssssssssssseeeeeeeeee Allah/God, Allah/God, Allah/God promises for its safety. Read it before it vanished right after the few hours of judgement day. Warning Form Allah/God!!!

Tom AKA Mohammed
i repeat. Even if the Quran is the exact replica of what Muhammad uttered in Arabic, in his own dialect, with the same vowels, it is not a proof that it is from God. If Allah says in the Quran that he preserves the Quran is not a proof that the Quran is from God because anyone can claim his book is from God…Joseph Smith is no different.

I repeat : the beauty of a book is not a sign of divine origin. A book being preserved is not sign of divine origin. A book claiming to be from God is not a sign of divine origin. The Mormons or any sect or cult can say the same about their book, it is still not from God. The criteria is the words of God revealed in the Bible. Good money comes first, then corrupt money. To know the forged money, you must have the good money. We have the good money, and we can tell what is from God and what opposes Him, even if the author repeated a thousand time that he is inspired and an angel used to pay him visits. If this is not clear, compare what you believe to what the Mormons or Druze or any sect believe and you will see your arguments are the same even though all of you cannot be correct. The criteria is to go back to the words of God in the Bible which will never be changed until everything is accomplished…and i believe what the Bible says, not what Muhammad, Smith, Bahaullah or Ghulam Ahmad say.

I will declare that what ever you said is wrong i donot have to read and see what verses you are talking about. Coz it will be different meaning. I try my best all the time but your way of understand of Al-Quran is wrong. Note: Its not Prophet Muhammad pbuh words but Allah/God words. You all think that you people have upperhand on everybody. All prophets is from MiddleEast and you know how they look like. If you have problem with Prophet Muhammad that how will you follow him. Then you are in big conjecture. MiddleEast is not a Freezing Place. Trying to take out the ego.Thats All
Angelos was Muslim. I am from the Middle East. And Angelos is correct.

the Quran negates that Muhammad performed any miracles, except the miracle of the Quran.

‘Why does God not speak to us? Why does a sign not come to us?’ 2:118

The unbelievers say, ‘Why has a sign not been sent down upon him from his Lord?’ Thou art ONLY a warner, and a guide to every people. S. 13:7

Muhammad’s only function was to warn people, not to do miracles. After all, the statement “Thou art ONLY a warner” would make no sense if a warner could in fact perform miracles.

Naught prevented Us from sending the signs but that the ancients cried lies to them; and We brought Thamood the She-camel visible, but they did her wrong. And We do not send the signs, except to frighten. S. 17:59

clear proof that Muhammad did absolutely no miracles . The passage says that Allah refrained from providing miracles, which would make no sense at all if Muhammad did indeed perform miracles.

Is it not ENOUGH for them that We have revealed to you the Book which is recited to them?

If Muhammad needed to provide a miracle in addition to the Quran then this only serves to falsify his own statement regarding the Quran’s sufficiency.

Second, the Quranic text doesn’t give any data that the moon was split during Muhammad’s time. It is vague and can refer to any incident, whether before, during or after Muhammad’s time. After all, even Muslims like Razi admit that the text may in fact be referring to a future incident, a sign to occur during the Day of Judgment.

So Angelos is correct.

Did God the father tell you about Trinity. NO.
about your Trinity of 3 gods? no. About the correct Trinity that Father, Word/Wisdom and Spirit exist eternally as One God? yes

If you are not convinced, check what the Bible says about the Holy Spirit and the Wisdom of God.
I doubt it. But because Father is mentioned in bible and so is the son. Also because there is mention of holy spirit there, you yourself gave importance to these three things and made them up into god or gods.
god and gods do not exist in Christianity. It is God who revealed that He is the Father who created everything by His Wisdom( called Son) and Spirit. If you believe Allah has no wisdom and no spirit, i cannot comment.
Otherwise God never told you that formula. Please tell me where it is explicitly written in the bible that there are three gods, that the father is a god that Jesus is also a god and that holy spirit is a god and that all three are gods and that all three are again combined into one god.
the Bible says the Father is God , His Wisdom is God, His Holy Spirit is God. Google them and see what the Bible says about the nature of the One God.

** That holy spirit is a creature of god. It is not a god.**

according to the Bible, both OT and NT, the Holy Spirit is God. If a book claims otherwise, it is wrong.

The Spirit of God who makes people prophecize, who gives power and solace to all people at the same time is not an omnipotent angel. If you believe angels are omnipotent, you are commiting shirk.

When I have fashioned him (in due proportion) and breathed into him of My Spirit, fall ye down in obeisance unto him. (38:72)"

Did Allah breath angels in humans to create them?

And (remember) her who guarded her chastity: We breathed into her of Our Spirit, and We made her and her son a sign for all peoples. (21:91)"

Did Allah breath an angel into Mary’s body?

Here is the correct understanding:

The Spirit of God has made me, and the breath of the Almighty gives me life.” Job 33:4

The Spirit of God is the creator, not a creature.

Thou wilt not find any people who believe in God and the Last Day, loving those who resist God and His Apostle, even though they were their fathers or their sons, or their brothers, or their kindred. For such He has written Faith in their hearts, and **strengthened them with a Spirit from Himself. ** (Quran)

is an angel omnipotent and omnipresent that he can strengthen all believers ?

beware of attributing to a creature what you attribute to God. This is called shirk, and not the belief that God , His Wisdom and His Spirit are One Creator.

From the Bible about the Spirit:

When you send your Spirit, they are created, and you renew the face of the earth. (Psalm 104:30)"

“Where can I go from your Spirit? Where can I flee from your presence? ( Psalm 139:7)”

In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth. The earth was without form and void, and darkness was over the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God was hovering over the face of the waters." Genesis 1:1-2

So yes, the Bible does say the Holy Spirit is God, the Father is God, and His Word is God.

But when the Helper comes, whom I WILL SEND TO YOU from the Father, the Spirit of truth, who proceeds from the Father, he will bear witness about me. And you also will bear witness, because you have been with me from the beginning." John 15:26-27

Trinity of Father, His Word (Jesus) and the Holy Spirit.

the Father is God (Bible)
the Word is God (Bible)
the Holy Spirit is God (Bible)

the Father created everything by His Word and Spirit. Trinity that is tawhid of God, His Word and His Spirit.

Our shahada is we believe in One Father, His Word ,His Holy Spirit and Jesus is the Word incarnate into the womb of the virgin Mary (see, no biological father has a reason).

** "Well said. This in fact is Islam.

That is the essence of Islam. .
do you mean that the essence of Islam is that a Christian who disbelieves in Muhammad and Quran but does good deeds has no fear?

what about the aya that says Christians are cursed and will go to hell?

I will declare that what ever you said is wrong i donot have to read and see what verses you are talking about. Coz it will be different meaning. I try my best all the time but your way of understand of Al-Quran is wrong. Note: Its not Prophet Muhammad pbuh words but Allah/God words. You all think that you people have upperhand on everybody.
Dear Tomshaikh,

Why don’t you try proving with the help of the Koran that my interpretation is wrong? Repeating for a hundred times that my interpretation is wrong will not make your claims true.
All prophets is from MiddleEast and you know how they look like. If you have problem with Prophet Muhammad that how will you follow him. Then you are in big conjecture. MiddleEast is not a Freezing Place. Trying to take out the ego.Thats All
Yet Jerusalem was considered the city of God’s prophets, not Mecca or Medina! Since your beloved messenger agreed with Jews, his scribes added into the Koran the fantastic night trip to Jerusalem. Going to Jerusalem - supposedly - was the only way out for Mohammad, who desperately needed to convince the Jews and Christians that he was a true messenger like the ones in the Bible.

Peace to all,
Angelos N.B.

So Angelos is correct.
Matthew 12:39
He answered, "A wicked and adulterous generation asks for a miraculous sign! But none will be given it except the sign of the prophet Jonah.

**inJesus please see that Jesus was aksed for miracles and signs. But he said that no sign shall be shown to the wicked people except the sign of Jonas…

That sign was also not shown properly. Jesus did not remain in the belly of the earth for three days and three nights. According to christian. Jesus died in the tomb while Jonas lived in the belly of the fish. Anothe rproblem: After coming out of the belly of the fish, Jonas visited all the people. But Jesus moved quietly and secretly andmet only his special friends. He did not go to those who disbelieved him.
So even one sign was not shown by Jesus. Please see the exact words of the bible. Jesus says that no sign will be shown…**

I have read all your post. I agree to you and believe that christianity is a mysterious religion, full of mysteries.
About Qnome, you have treid to justify it. But surely the Jews should have known it before you if it was there.
planten,

Mysteries of the Faith in Christianity is not the same as the word mysterious. A Mystery is a truth revealed by God which we can know about, but not fully intellectually understand and explain with human terms. A Mystery is believed on the account of God who neither deceives nor is deceived. We believe it because God has revealed it.

The word mysterious refers to something which we can not know anything about. That’s not the same thing as a Christian Mystery of Faith.

The word Qnome (the plural of Qnoma/Qnomo) is an Aramaic human term used in calling the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, in Aramaic Christianity. I do not know what the Jews thought of this word, or the Hebrew equivalent of it, and how they used it.
Did God the father tell you about Trinity. NO. He told you that he is the Father. I doubt it. But because Father is mentioned in bible and so is the son. Yes, the Father through His Incarnate Word/Son told us about the Trinity. You can see Matthew 28:19 - “Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit”.

The Incarnate Son/Word of the Father, Our Lord Jesus Christ, told us to pray like this in Matthew 6:9 - “Our Father who art in heaven…”

The Father, Son, and Holy Spirit are not three things. They are three Aqaneem, one God. They are not made up into god or gods. They are God. The Father is God. The Son is God. The Holy Spirit is God. They are not three gods; they are one God. They do not combine together into god, like parts into god. Each is fully God, not a part of God. God told us He is Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. They are not combined into one god, they are God!

No where does the Bible say that there are three gods, because this is blasphemy! There is only one God. Do not accuse the Christians of blasphemy. The Father is not a god, the Father is God! The Son is not a god, the Son is God! The Holy Spirit is not a god, the Holy Spirit is God!
This all man made (manufacture). Don’t mind, we feelthat there was no need for the church to enter into those difficulties of making three gods and then running back into the one god.
You are confused. There are not three gods running back into the one god. There is One God: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
Talking about mysteries, Jesus is a man and a god and a prophet too. That is another mystery. How come like that?
Jesus Christ is the Son of the Father, fully God, who was incarnated (became Man in the womb of the Virgin by the power of the Holy Spirit) for us men and for our salvation. He is the Messiah, the anointed Priest, Prophet, and King. Priest to intercede between the Father and mankind; Prophet to reveal the Father’s will to mankind; King to bring all mankind into the Kingdom of God, the Church, which has no end.
How come a god (Jesus) could die too. That is a mystery. And the God needed to come to this wretched world as a human being. That was never before at any time in the world in any part of the world. Please think about it. Why was that? That could be another mystery. May I take a break now, but no hard feelings. Wish you well in your beliefs which are all mostly a mystery to us.
Our Lord Jesus Christ is the Lamb of God who takes aways the sins of the world. In the Old Testament, the offering of an animal for a sacrifice was used in atonement of a man’s sins. The Son of the Father became Man in order to offer Himself to all mankind as a pure and living Sacrifice to the Father on behalf the sins of all mankind. This is how God redeemed humanity, the Son who is the New Adam undoing what the Old Adam had done.

God created this world as good. Genesis 1:31 tells us “And God saw everything that he had made, and behold, it was very good…” It was by the sin of Adam and Eve, that our human nature was weakened, and the multiplication of sins on earth weakened humanity and all creation. This is why the Son/Word of the Father willingly became Man so as to right what was made wrong by men, to save what was lost. It is the great love of God the Father for us, that He “gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life” (John 3:16).

It is out of Love, my Muslim friend, that the Father sent His Son into the world. It is out of Love, that the Incarnate Son died for us and rose from the dead. It is out of Love, that the Holy Spirit was send to comfort us, sanctify us, and divinize us. God became Man, so that by living in us, we are elevated into Him. He came down to pull us up. On our own power, we can never reach God, that’s why He came down to bring us up. All religions are about us reaching God, but we are sinners and we can never reach God on our own. God knows that, and His mercy is so great that He came down to us to take us up with Him. This is Christianity, my Muslim friend, God coming down as Man to draw all men to Him.

God bless,

Rony

Planten, do you know the Islamic Trinity? The Islamic taudid is made up of 3 parts:

tauhid al-rububiyyah, (unification of lordship)
tauhid al-uluhiyya,(unification of deity)
ibaadah, tauhid al-asma wa sifat. (unification of names and qualities)

these do not exist in Quran. Yet these are words invented by Muslims to explain what is in the Quran.

A quality of Allah is eternity. And His Word is eternal. And His Spirit is eternal. Hence Allah, His Word/Wisdom and Spirit is One eternal God. This is the Trinity.

Matthew 12:39
He answered, "A wicked and adulterous generation asks for a miraculous sign! But none will be given it except the sign of the prophet Jonah.

You are good at twisting the Gospel for your faulty comparisons.First, it is a mystery beyond me why you do not quote the verse where Jesus restricts the similarity between Jonah’s sign and His resurrection to the notion of time:

Matthew 12: 39-40 Who answering said to them: An evil and adulterous generation seeketh a sign: and a sign shall not be given it, but the sign of Jonah the prophet. For as Jonah was in the whale’s belly three days and three nights: so shall the Son of man be in the heart of the earth three days and three nights.

The parallelism Jesus draws between Jonah’s sign and His resurrection is apparent through the repetitive use of the phrase “three days and three nights”. No further similarity is derived by Jesus Himself. Therefore, your expectations and their natural failure result from your vain efforts to stretch the analogy.

If you are such a devout follower of the NT, believe in the following verse too:

John 20:30 Many other signs also did Jesus in the sight of his disciples, which are not written in this book.

Peace to all,
Angelos N.B.

Rony, we know all these things. The words of Jesus given to apostles do not make him a God. He received the words just like earlier prophets got them from God. And those prophets remained prophets only. Nobody calls them God. Please see the OT. It is full of prophets.
planten,

Jesus is the Incarnate Word of the Father. Before His incarnation, He always was eternally the Word of the Father. When He became Man, revealing the will of the Father for all mankind, He was not like the earlier prophets. The earlier prophets were only prophets, not the Incarnate Word of the Father. The earlier prophets received their messages from the Father, through the Word, in the Holy Spirit. Jesus is the Incarnate Word, who came down to directly address the people. Jesus is the Priest, Prophet, and King, that is, the Anointed One, the Revelation of the Father to men. None of the earlier priests, prophets, and kings were like that, rather, they were creatures anointed for a specific mission, not like Jesus Christ, fully God and fully Man.
The Holy Spirit is not one of the created angels, not a created spirit. The Holy Spirit is God. The Holy Spirit spoke by the prophets in the Old Testament, meaning, God spoke by the prophets. The Holy Spirit is God who spoke by creatures (prophets) to creatures (ordinary men).
So there lies your problem of making God out of a mere messenger of god… That was jesus. Then you people made the messenger angel (the holy spirit) into another god. No doubt Jesus and the holy spirit are very important and quite holy persons. But they are not Gods.
Jesus is the Incarnate Word of the Father. He is the Incarnate Speech of the Father. He is the Incarnate Message of the Father. The Father is God, His Word is God, His Spirit is God. One God forever. You can not separate the Father from His Word and Spirit.

The Holy Spirit is the Spirit of the Father. The Holy Spirit is the Spirit of the Son. The Holy Spirit is eternally God. Christians do not make up the teaching of Father, Son, and Holy Spirit as eternally One God, rather, Christians receive this revelation from God Himself. The Father, Son, and Holy Spirit are not Gods, they are One God. The Incarnate Son, Jesus, is holy and very important because He is God. The Holy Spirit is holy and very important because He is God. The Father is holy and very important because He is God.
I have just tried to explain a few things about Jesus and the holy spirit as we Muslims understand them.
We reject the made up Muslim understanding of who Jesus and the Holy Spirit is. We accept the revealed Christian understanding of who Jesus and the Holy Spirit is.

God bless,

Rony

just to add this understanding is in the OT as well. 🙂

planten,

I have the Qur’an, and I sometimes read it. There is nothing special about the Qur’an. It is like other non-inspired religious books, like the Book of Mormon for example. It has both truth and error mixed in it. It is not the revelation of God.

We Christians are warned ahead of time that if someone preaches to us a message in contradiction to the Gospel which we have received, then that message is falsehood. The Muslim religion has both true and false teachings in it. The false teachings are those teachings that contradict the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

Jesus says: “If you love me, you will keep my commandments. And I will pray the Father, and he will give you another Counselor, to be with you for ever, even the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees him nor knows him; you know him, for he dwells with you, and will be in you” (John 14:15-17).

This is the Trinity in this passage: The Father, the Son (Incarnated as Jesus), and the Holy Spirit (Counselor, Spirit of truth). If you love Jesus as you say, you should accept what He says, but instead of accepting what Jesus Himself says to you, you have chosen to accept a man made book (the Qur’an) which teaches in contradiction to the Holy Trinity.

Christians can not accept a book that teaches in contradiction to the Holy Trinity, because that is a betrayal of Jesus Christ. We prefer to accept the teachings of Jesus, who is the Incarnate Son of the Father, rather than a man made book like the Qur’an.

God bless,

Rony
