ANY commercial that uses the sound of computer keyboards being typed on…just typing this now is annoying me!

Or how about the ones with the really overexaggerated mouse clicks? Like nails on a chalkboard IMO.

Anything with little kids who sound like they’ve got wads of cotton stuffed up their noses, or kids who try to sing.

The recent Pedigree Healthy Vitality dog food commercial where all you hear is a dog gulping food and slobbering. YUCK!

There are two that really bother me like none other.

The first are the “Chad” commercials from Alltel. Seriously, all cell phone providers have their advantages and disadvantages, so Alltel is hardly perfect. But conjuring up wizards? That has gone too far.

Second, that horrible minvan commercial with the father who has spent three weekends making a treehouse for his son, only to have the boy prefer the air-conditioned confines of the Toyota (with the engine running, no doubt, since you must have it on in order to run the air). “Does (the treehouse) have leather seats?” he snarkly asks his dad, already knowing the answer. The way his father looks so hurt when the boy just dismisses his dad both breaks my heart and makes me furious! How did the son become so indifferent to his father? And this makes me want to buy your minivan, Toyota? Absolutely not!!!

I know, I am overthinking this last one.

That Verizon FiOS “Wow” commercial where the dog, cat and flea are apparently part of the family. Oh, and it’s really mostly the flea that bothers me… He’s ugly and sounds like Ben Stein. I have to change the channel.

Those Friendly’s commercials where the dad is always stupid. The only one I can really remember is the one where the son makes fun of his father, and the mother laughs.

I saw an ad for male and female lubricant in the middle of the day on a Sunday. I said to my husband, “Our children will just never be allowed to watch television.” Seriously, not even baseball or basketball since some of the ads are so inappropriate.

It’s a car insurance commercial.

One person is looking out a window and he/she is talking to the owner. The car is being destroyed i.e, paint falling on it, a vehicle crashing into it.

Question: Why is the person who is seeing this not tell the owner??!!! He/she acts very calmly. How charitable is that??

A local car dealer who uses this girl, who is probably his daughter, to read the lines as she walks by the cars in a tight outfit. Her voice is enough to shatter glass. And her accent is so thick, I have trouble understanding what she is saying.
We have one around here who uses attractive young girls, probably his daughters or nieces, to advertise with him. “Brittney and I want you to come to XYZ motors.” But before they say that, he asks the girl where she goes to school, and she names the school. I think that man is crazy – doesn’t he realize that there are all kinds of perverts out there who might be watching those ads, who might think Brittney is cute, and decide to go wait outside of the school trying to make contact with her!!! That is downright scary to me.

I agree - the guy needs to have his head examined, and so do the girl’s parents - what are they thinking, to allow this?

I saw that one too!! I was watching a L&O marathon on Memorial Day while cleaning the house and that lubricant commercial came on that made me stop in my tracks! I’ve never seen anything so inappropriate.

And I agree-it’s pretty sad when you can’t watch a baseball or basketball game with a child anymore because of all the viagra ads. Are ALL the men in this country impotent or something??

They’re thinking: “My little girl is gonna be on TEE VEE! Maybe we’ll get a reality show outta this.”

I dont know if yall get them there where yall are but here in Texas in the Houston area we get the most annoying Sonic Drive Thru commercials. The two male idiots in the car and then the married couple acting like dorks. Another one is for a lawyer here. Gets on my nerves. Call Jim Adler, the Texas Hammer.
Another one is for the Everest Institution formally ITT Tech. Some of the auto commercials are stupid. Here in Houston, The Hilton Furniture commercial is another one as well as Bi-Rite Furniture. I get tired of hearing Hey Hey Hey Bi- Rite Best Prices. The V8 juice commercials get on my nerves too. As well as that one commercial for ant bait where them idiots do all kinds of things to get rid of the ants even vacuuming them up and then it explodes on them getting ants all over them. That one there has got to take the cake with me. I think it is called Over and Out. Not sure though. Gosh I could go on forever but if I think of anymore I will be sure to let you know.

Oh, yeah, we get them EVERYwhere and if it’s any consolation, I think the radio ads are even worse, like the one about what it would be like to have a java chiller with the girl on the Sonic commercials (the one where she’s trying to tell some office story about a guy named Larry… my son and I are tied in the speed race to see who can hit a different station button faster when that one comes on!)

At least we don’t get to hear her actually DRINKING the java chiller, which, as I mentioned before, is a sound that makes my hairs stand on end!

Yep, we get them here too. The kicker is that we’ve been getting them for years, but Michigan’s first Sonic just opened this month.

Sonic was extra-annoying for a while, because they started advertising heavily about a year before they had any locations in this market*.

"Sonic Drive-Thru: Open Til Midnight Or Later" *Good thing too – 'Cause it’s gonna take me that long to drive to the next state to find one! *

(* Walgreen was annoying for a similar circumstance)

Most of the commercials that annoy me have already been mentioned, but the other night there was a fire at the bottling plant of a brewery (but not the brewery itself, thank heavens) near my hometown which reminded me that TV ads weren’t always so crude. Heree are some commercials I grew up with:

youtube.com/watch?v=yn7b2djfMKY&NR=1

youtube.com/watch?v=CqXLFWIuLNE&feature=related

youtube.com/watch?v=q_9_xVuH7sA&NR=1

Utica Club is gone but the F.X. Matt Co. is still in business, still family-owned. They make brew Sam Adam’s under license plus local microbrews.

Another 1 that I dont like are the infomercials about getting rich quick and how someone went from dust to diamonds the next day. If someone like that wants to keep his money, why is he selling his secret so other may get richer than he is. Oh well… I will just stay meek and humble so that I wont have to worry about who to leave all that money to when I die. lol Chances of me getting rich moneywise are like a snowball in hell anyways. lol

I don’t watch much TV, but the viva viagra commercial sticks in my mind as the most asine thing I’ve seen and heard in a long time. I don’t think prescription drugs ought to be advertised anyway.

I do think that Budwiser commercials where all the guy does is say ‘Dude’ are funny as can be. I still hate the taste of Budweiser though.

When I saw the commercial with all the men smiling and “this is the face of ED” I thought, they must have paid those actors a bundle!

Any commercial where I have to see the inside of someone’s mouth. (dentists, toothpaste, whatever). I always seem to catch them just as I’m taking my first bite of lunch. Ugh.
