Most women don't know the chemical effects of contraception

Not propaganda at all. Many women are thankful for such benefits, especially the first three.
We have all gotten off track of the actual subject of the article which is how women on birth control have chemical side effects. This is definitely true - I believe this data has been out there for awhile as well. I saw a PBS documentary about this like 5 years ago. (the part about how women select mates through scent and how this is altered by synthetic hormones)

As for whether or not birth control pills are safe, here is another good source of information. Dr. Chris Kahlenborn. Link below.

I do think it is important for Catholics to get this information out to women for their consideration. Maybe I am just an egomaniac, but I value my hormones and actually feel pretty defensive about them - perhaps I just to need to lighten up and relax: real, fake what’s the difference.

Catholics aren’t the only ones raising the red flags about hormonal contraceptives. Seems even some liberals are waking up to the problems.

Women on the pill have more to worry about than fancying their partner
A recent study is here to tell you that your birth control, as Elle magazine so eloquently put it, might be making your boyfriend ugly. More specifically, the science suggests that a woman taking the pill when she meets her boyfriend might find him less attractive when she stops taking it, especially if he wasn’t all that hot to begin with.
When we take the pill our sex hormones are suppressed and replaced with synthetic versions, released in a steady stream. Gone are the fluctuations we experience monthly. This means every system related to our hormones is disrupted – our metabolic and endocrine systems and our immune system. This is what leads to the insidious, slow-build side-effects that women can experience.

Is the assumption that all women who have no problem with the idea of contraception start taking it before they meet the man of their life? In my experience of my contemporaries it’s been; meet the man and plan your life together. Not always the case, I know, but there seems to be an assumption here.
Anyway, presumably then there’s the danger of going off your husband/partner/ fiancée when you START taking the pill? Well it hasn’t worked like that for me or those of my close acquaintance who have long marriages. I’m not at all sure how anyone tests this hypothesis…someone’s sense of smell/taste can change due to medication but to test whether a change in feelings towards a spouse - enough to stop loving them - occurs simply from taking a pill would seem to be impossible. Human attraction is a lot more complicated than that - thank goodness! We’re a LITTLE bit more complicated than rams and ewes in our choice of mate!
In my humble experience, being a slave to hormonal ups and downs every month was not pleasant for me or anyone. Unbidden and bewildering mood swings for some women would be ‘disrupted’ very happily!
(If he wasn’t that hot to begin with, it wasn’t a good idea to have a sexual relationship/ marry him was it? )
