Dear Brothers and Sisters,
It seems to me that Mary’s title as “Mother” of the Church is better known, perhaps than her title as “Model” of the Church but more and more I’m beginning to see how the Holy Spirit has inspired the Popes to use this title, and encourage us to see Mary in ever truer ways.
Pope Benedict has said that Mary is not only a mother to the Church but a model in her “Yes” to God. I wonder how many have pondered this beautiful role of Mary as both Mother and Model for the Church. Would anyone care to share some additional thoughts of their own on this title?
It seems to me it can help us to obey Jesus words: “Behold Your Mother” in ways, perhaps, we have not pondered before – taking time with how she is Model for all. I’d be grateful for your sharing your prayerful pondering of this. Thanks.
