Mother Teresa an evil person?

Google references are not necessarily reliable sources.
I doubt very much that the Vatican would canonize someone who did bad things.
I will pray for those who feel a need to slander a dead saint for whatever reason.

Seewald: “Were you in the Hitler Youth?”
Ratzinger: “At first we weren’t, but when the compulsory Hitler Youth was introduced in 1941, my brother was obliged to join. I was still too young, but later, as a seminarian, I was registered in the HY. As soon as I was out of the seminary, I never went back. That was difficult, because the tuition reduction, which I really needed, was tied to proof of attendance at the HY. Thank goodness, there was a very understanding mathematics teacher. He himself was a Nazi but an honest man, who said to me, ‘Just go once and get the document, so that we have it …’ When he saw that I simply didn’t want to, he said, ‘I understand, I’ll take care of it,’ and so I was able to stay free of it.”

I felt like you at first, then started reading and checking. Came to see what was happening through witnesses. Like you I had awful problems with it, as I was at that time involved with their Sligo house, but know folk who saw what was happening. For me it was the start of a pulling away from the Catholic Church when they went ahead . Not a ? of being a bad person, but in many ways a mistaken one.
 
I think if one seriously wants to bring charges against Mother Theresa for some immoral action, it must be done one charge at a time. And proof must be presented. Otherwise it’s just slander.
 
In any case, to charge Mother Theresa would now be attacking the Catholic Church as a whole, unwittingly or not. That’s probably not going to fly here, as the truth of the Catholic Church is grounded within a seamless garment framework. The Vatican devil’s advocate did his homework. Mother Theresa is indeed a super Saint.

I have no interest in “pulling away from the Catholic Church” and I do not think people who have done so are following the “truth”. They are simply distancing themselves from Jesus, which is very sad.

In my experience, those who get angry, hurt, upset, or have some other reason to wish to leave the Catholic Church go looking for scandal to justify their position, and they come up with enough purported “evidence” to feel all self-righteous about their choice. I pray for them to get over it.

It seems like your own posts generally reflect that you are unhappy with the Catholic Church and are always accusing it of many bad or unfriendly or unkind things. I’m sorry for whatever experiences you had that cause you to think that way, but hearing other people’s slander about Mother Theresa should not be used as a justification for whatever you yourself decided to do.

Slander is wrong in any event, especially slander of a person who is dead and can’t defend herself, and wouldn’t defend herself even if she was alive.

I’m sorry you think this way - I pray for you and for all misguided people who do the Devil’s work by spreading such tales and calling them “truth”.

Precisely. The Vatican has devil’s advocates, and a process for canonization, because they know that their decisions and their saints are going to be attacked by all sorts of garbage-throwers in the cheap seats. I have great confidence in their process.
