Mother who has Alheimers / Dementia

I humbly ask for prayers on behalf of my mother who has Alzheimers that the Lord Jesus will help doctors find a cure. Amen
 
I have said a prayer for your mother and a prayer for a speedy cure for this disease.

Praying to St. Dymphna for her! My mother suffered with this for 10 years. It’s a horrible disease!
 
Having lost my mother last March (dementia) and with my MIL now suffering from Alzheimer’s, I can tell you that both can be similar to an age-regression. Sufferers, in a manner of speaking, regress through various prior ages to the point at which they may very well become childlike. I am also not certain that all actually suffer - but those who love them certainly do. It might help you to deal with it if you view it was a test of your love for her.

Merciful Lord of all, grant Heavenly Graces unto the mother of God is My Judge. Graciously strengthen her family to have great patience with her, to love her each day as the renewed blessing she is, and to place all of their faith and trust in You, O Precious Lord. May the doctors, nurses and all medical staff who treat her be filled with Your Holy Spirit, that her condition improve as You order it. Allow her family to thank You constantly for the blessings already received through her, and for those yet to come. I ask this through Christ, our Lord, Who lives and reigns with You and the Holy Spirit, One God for ever and ever. Amen.

God Bless You BeeSweet, ukdal1, Mary ann R, Renato, stove, jnnywren, po18guy, 244Rocket, and SpokBBane now and forever I appreciate all the prayers to Our Lord Jesus Christ and to the Immaculate Heart of Mary. I need to state more about my mother she is 85 and my dad is 86 my mom turns 86, Feb 22, and my father will turn 87 on Feb 11, anyway my mother can still walk and she has been suffering from this Alzheimers disease for nearly 15 years but she still recognizes her children she does forget at times her and my dad been married since 1945 after he came back from Europe after WWII and they have been married for about almost 63 yrs my father will not put her in a nursing home because he said as long as I can take care of her I will. We have been together too long to let her go there she would be lost and of course he would too. And yes po18guy you are right, she is turning childlike but as she took care of us when we were children we will take care of her in her old age. Also my grandmother, her mother died of that disease in 61’ and she had two older sisters who died of that awful disease as well… But I am so thankful the Lord Jesus brought me to this place to interact with other Roman Catholics and again I want to thank you all from the bottom of my heart for praying for my mother! :blessyou: All Wonderful People

I will pray for you also. I pray for caregivers everyday. It is a very difficult job. My family has gone through it so I can relate. God bless you for your efforts and may he give you the strength to handle this.

Daniel ~ I know how you feel, as I helped my mom take care of my dad when he developed Alzheimers. He also had cancer and suffered horribly from that. One of the greatest blessings of my life was to be there for my dad (and my mom) through it all. My prayers are with you. Hang in there.
