At least we have evidence for our facts. Mormons only have feelings to validate their facts. That’s not rational.

Just so you know, that’s not a personal attack, that’s just a fact. In my profession it has been a part of my life to review and evaluate evidence and determine facts. I realize that not everyone has that experience and it is common these days to go on “feelings”. As a result, people often confuse feelings with facts. Perhaps it would be helpful to refresh the understanding of facts and evidence.
hum interesting, but the “fact” that we have nothing to go on but feelings in inaccurate.

This is true you have the BOM, the fictional writings of a con man. teancum79 I do not want to be mean, but the teachings of the LDS are so out of line with anything taught in the Bible or by the Jewish rabbis and Early church fathers that you have to deceive yourself to believe them. I do pray that the Holy Spirit opens your heart so that you will see the LDS as the false religion that it is.

no in fact the BoM and the Bible agree on so many points that I have a hard time believe that anyone with a half open mind can’t see it. Many of the Rabbi’s and early church fathers made mistakes that does not take away from the value or divinity of the BoM.

The Bible and the BOM agree because a large part of the BOM was lifted whole from the KJV Bible, what’s so hard about that? The BOM is not “divine”, it is the invention of Joseph Smith. The BOM and the whole body of mormon “scripture” is fraudulent. Even your signature is a quotation from a fraudulent document citing a personage that never existed, taking the name of the Saviour in vain.

How come Smith did not use the Hebrew Name for the king?
YISHEYAH (Book of Isaiah) Chapter 14
4 that thou shalt take up this parable against the king of Babylon

The original Hebrew text of this verse was הילל בן שחר (heilel ben-schahar), meaning “Helel son of Shahar.” Helel

The first problem is that Lucifer is a Latin name put in the Vulgate by St Jerome -

‘Shahar’ is translated into Greek as’Phosphorus’ and into Latin and hence into English as ‘Lucifer’, which were the Greek and Latin names, respectively, for the morning star.

Many of us who are former Mormons were temple-worthy when we were LDS. I was endowed in the Provo temple while at the MTC, married in the Washington, DC temple and attended the Los Angeles temple after I moved to So Cal.

All of this was pre-1990, so my experience included the blood oaths, penalties and all the other nasty stuff removed in 1990-1992.

You underestimate us and the depth of our Mormon knowledge and experience. That is a mistake.

Paul

If refering to me asking about ever entered a Temple is because most Mormons it is my understanding never get to be Temple worthy.

For without being Temple worthy my understanding and someone entering the temple and declaring the family tree one does not see the light so to speak.

I did not say church now so where is the temple you went to?
i’ve been to a few. i’ve visited hawaii and salt lake city temples. i did baptisms for the dead in mesa. I was endowed and sealed in Dallas and did quite few ordinances for the dead there. i was also a veil worker there at the end. i’ve been through some endowments and attended a sealing in houston.

Maybe we need to look at JS for plagiarism then. Many of the mistakes are such big mistakes that is why it would be easier to believe that George Lucas wrote a divinely inspired book in the STAR WARS SERIES. We could all be followers of the Force. and members for the church of Jedi.

Think about which is closer to a biblical look of God the Mormon " god that was once a man that became god" or Lucas’s force " that penetrates, surrounds, and binds the whole universe together" 🤷

May the force be with you.

R And also with you.

if only he bought those gold tablets that it was all written on back with him…

well, in my husband’s ward, only the mothers of the ward got the plant, and non mothers and visitors did not.

In my parish, we all got a free breakfast from the Knights of Colombus:p
Hmmm… that’s interesting… it seems like I remember you got one, in fact it’s planted out in our front yard and thriving… and you didn’t go to mass that morning either to enjoy said breakfast, you went with us. So, are you ridiculing the church because the person who bought the flowers didn’t realize there were going to be so many people there that day? He did apologize and would have loved to have given a plant to all mothers, future mothers, those who want to be mothers, etc… I think this is pretty petty to be jumping in to ridicule the mormon church about.

😦

Hello Jacob, welcome to the forums. I suggest that you are looking for contention and that is what you are finding. I can do the same at any non-Catholic forum, in about 60 seconds.

Perhaps you can find what you do like and report on that instead?

That being said, when someone relates a personal experience with Mormons, it is just that, their experience. The importance it has is what it was to them. Comments on differences are just that, comments. There are many differences between Roman Catholicism and Mormons. If you are going to get offended every time someone points them out, well, you are going to have a miserable experience.

Also, when you tell someone that their experience is not what it was, you are calling them a liar. And most people don’t take kindly to being called liars.
