Wrong. The King Follett Discourse was given in General Conference. Joseph was moved to give this conference talk by the death of his friend King Follett, but it was no off-the-cuff graveside sermon. The intro to the sermon says:You are confusing details (KFD being a service for a man who died).
When the prophet gives a talk in general conference, it is official church doctrine.
