**Motorola sponsors LOGO network **

From: OneMillionMoms.com

Motorola is a premiere sponsor of the new homosexual television network LOGO. LOGO is being forced on consumers by cable and satellite companies, against their wishes because it is being bundled with basic network packages.

Some of the offerings on LOGO, supported by Motorola profits:
  • First Comes Love: Scott Thompson and his team make wedding dreams come true for gay and lesbian couples!
  • 16th Annual GLAAD (Gays & Lesbians Against Defamation) Media Awards
  • Coming Soon!: News headlines from the Advocate.com!
  • The Adventures of Priscilla, Queen of the Desert: A funny romp with Australian drag queens.
  • The Evolution Will Be Televised: We trace the emerging visibility of gay Americans.
  • Wigstock: The Movie: Documentary on the ever-glamorous New York drag festival, Wigstock.
Let Motorola know you oppose being force-fed homosexual programs supported by their corporate dollars.

Thanks for posting. I rewrote the letter a bit. Honestly why does a group wish to be identified by their genital activities?

Lisa N

and they wonder why the term queer is used to describe them. What else is it when ya get radical and identify your whole life by who you sleep with?

Hopefully, it will become a joke like it is depicted on Will & Grace… Jack is head of “OUT TV” an all gay network…

They copy things from other shows… for instance… we have the show “PUNKED” where practical jokes are played on celebs… on OUT TV, they call it “PINKED” and pull jokes on gays 😛

Hopefully nobody will watch and it will go away.

I cease to understand why major companies take these steps. How does it help their bottom line to align themselves with 2-3% of the population?

That 2-3% of our population is the most vocal part of our population. It seems that they are mostly well educated and have money to spend (no family obligations I guess.)

Those of us that don’t believe like they do mostly keep silent. So maybe it is partly our fault that the squeeky wheel gets greased.

Kathleen,

I agree, yet it still puzzles me that major coporations would stick their necks out like they do for a mere 2-3% of the population…it is just plain bad for the bottom line.

Another old saying. Any publicity is better then no publicity. How much have you hear about Motorola prior to this? Same with alot of these other companies. Then that 2-3% of our population can becomes 35-40% since the libs don’t want to be seen as close minded. It is simple math in the business world.

Kathleen,

Perhaps, but Allstate just received a harsh lesson…

I call, write and do anything I can to let these companies know how I feel. Another fact of life is one complaint is worth one-hundred others. Businesses will tell you your complaints don’t count. LOL they sure do.

We just have to be louder then the opposition.

One shouldnt be surprised about Starbucks… when the menu calls for a grown adult to utter phrases such as: Mocha, half calf latte grande with whipped cream… what can ya expect? 😃

Starbucks was my favorite place to get a coffee in the morning. Now I just make my own.😛

Ugh! My cell phone is a Motorola! :banghead:
Off to check who made ours. But the way it is going, we are going to have to start making everything ourselves. Shoes, electronics and food. Is there a list anywhere that gives us who we can buy from? It would be nice to have a safe list instead of the negative ones we use now.

I always thought Starbucks coffee smells a lot like skunk. No big loss to me… 🙂

I have DirecTV and LOGO just appeared in my basic channel package a week or two ago. Without warning, in what seems like a sneaky way to do business, DirecTV put this gay network on my television. Of course, I can choose to not watch the station, or, better yet, block it from my TV. That is not the point. Satellite and cable companies should inform their PAYING customers about their plans to do things like this. They inform us when they have new sports packages or entertainment packages available, but they sneak controversial stations into their lineup in the hope of no one noticing and their being able to get away with it without backlash.
LOGO is an MTV-owned station. The other night (8PM or so) I was treated to an Erasure concert. The lead singer was wearing white shorts that looked like a diaper, a white tank top with a corset over it, white stockings, and pumps. He was flaunting his gayness all over the stage. At one point he dedicated a song to all the “F****** Nazi homophobes out there”. I guess if you don’t agree with his choice of sexual lifestyle you are a murderous Nazi.
All of this was on my TV without warning, during peak primetime hours, and without warning to anyone who has children who surf the TV channels.
How ironic that gays want to be a part of mainstream society, but they feel the need to segregate themselves with dedicated TV stations, parades, holidays, and the like.
All guilty parties (cable, satellite, Motorola, and MTV) should hear the displeasure of people who pay for their service and buy their products.

We have the DirecTV basic package, and I saw some ads announcing that this channel was now being carried a little while ago. I just now checked, though, and we don’t get it…thank goodness we’re not being forced to pay for junk. Yes, that’s right, I said it–junk. Guess I’m a homophobe now.
