I am really looking forward to seeing this movie! I hope everyone
encourages others to see it. I am trying to get as many people
as possible to go to see it with me! šŸ™‚

Does anyone know what is being said about this movie for children? Those of you who have seen it do you have any comments?

YES! Bella is a great movie. I was able to see it this past
Sunday and it was free, but I already know it is a movie I will
want to see in it’s final version…many times.
The way I found out about it was really fortunate. I don’t subscribe
to the local daily newspaper, but I do occasionally read it online,
especially the Opinion page and Letters to the Editor. I noticed
a small caption saying something like …a movie about faith,
family. Clicked on it and it was about Bella. The daughter-in-
law of a couple who are close to President Bush’s family saw the
movie when it received a Smithsonian Culture Award and her
in-laws (prominent family here and he ran for the State Senate)
set up a fundraiser and after the free showing. I called several
people and we showed up about an hour and a half early…just
in case. The theatre was full but a few scattered seats were
available. A waste. Anyway, it was set up in less than 2 weeks
so there was not that much publicity about it. I was impressed
with all of them, the marketing agent, the producer, and most of
all with Eduardo. He is a very humble person and a very good
looking young man to say the least. I wanted to stay after but
I took my mom (92 yrs. old) and I needed to get her home and
to bed. But I did sign up to help promote the film and I am still
trying to get St. Vincent de Paul to buy out a theatre as a fund
raiser. Someone asked if they would take their kids to see it and
yes, I would. There were kids there and I think the youngest was
about 7 or 8. A doctor and his wife and kids sat next to us and
we all loved it.
I am really praying that many, many people get to see this film.
I think even the most secular person can be uplifted watching it.

I just saw the movie for the 3rd time since February and each time it touches my heart an soul. I pray that everyone will go to see it and take all their PRO-CHOICE friends. It is a great movie for ā€˜us’ believers, but it is really for the mass ā€˜unbelievers’.

Please don’t just tell people about the movie, take them, even if you have to go pay to see it a dozen times. Consider it your donation to Pro Life and Pro Family!

Money is the only thing that will show Hollywood that we need more movies like this and if the only people who go see it are the Pro-Life Christians, the message won’t get out, because, we already have the message. We are called to spread the message!

Here are their websites: www.BellaTheMove.com, www.BellaResources.com, www.BellaNews.com, wwwBellaEmails.com

Please go to these websites, get information and email everyone you know, or don’t know, whoever is on your email lists and tell them to go see the movie and have them send all their friends.
This is too important to worry about what anyone thinks.
I promise they will thank you for it because it’s not just a good Pro-Life movie, it’s good in every way. The only one who won’t like it is the devil!

I checked the website. Does anyone know how we can get Bella to Seattle?

How about Richmond Virginia? I see it is going to be playing in DC but that’s like a 2 to 3 hr drive! šŸ™‚ Hope it comes to Richmond VA. :o

Check out the above link for a ā€œbehind the scenesā€ interview. They elude to their morality being one reason why the makers came together. I am PUMPED about seeing this!!!

To Molly and Esclavo de Cristo,
What they said on Sunday is that if they get a committment of
4000 sold tickets, they will come. I don’t know the particulars
of what theatre or the like but they said that some companies
had been sponsors and bought the tickets. Does anybody who
saw it as a fundraiser know how they did it?
As I said some very influential people here in El Paso brought it
here and held a fundraiser before the movie. Fundraiser was at
5, the movie at 7. The date for the opening of the final ā€œbig
screenā€ version is October 26th. Eduardo was saying that it was
scheduled to open in 4 locations and as of Sunday was in the high30rdies.(?!?) I hope it is the hundreds soon. Let’s help them, with
prayer for starters.

I saw this movie at a screening at a local Catholic Church. It is very good and I plan to see it again if it opens in a local theatre.

It is being marketed the same way as ā€œThe Passion of the Christā€. As a matter of fact I believe it has the same producer.

It will open in theatres in a limited engagement 10/26/07

This thread has grown long so reading all of it would take more time then I have.

From what I have read and heard about this movie it sounds wonderful however, is this movie going to be just a flash in the theater going pan? Will it come and go unnoticed by the general movie going public and only be seen by Catholic Forum members?

I seldom go to the movies and haven’t been to one for a few months, but I cannot recall seeing previews for Bella in the long long list of previews. I haven’t seen any adds on television or in the newspaper.

Will this movie just disappear and be a singleton in the drama section of Blockbuster rentals in a month or two?

I’d love to see a mainstream movie that challenged peoples moral beliefs but how can it compare to who Pamela Anderson is marrying or what Britney is wearing?

I actually hope it hits Blockbuster soon, it’ll be the only way I’ll be able to get my family to view it. I’ll go to Blockbuster to pick up something else and come home with Bella instead because the one I was supposed to get will not be in šŸ˜‰ .

Mijoy2,
The movie has won a very prestigious award, The Toronto Film
Festival’s (the largest in the world) People’s Choice Award. Only
one other award is given there.
The movie was done on a shoestring and, therefore, they’re relying
on grassroots efforts to bring it to the public’s attention. That’s
why you won’t see it in previews (VERY expensive). However, other
movies done in this way have gone on to win Oscars. That in itself
will bring more to see the movie.
"Bella"is a movie that will touch all who see it.

Sounds awesome…finally a decent movie. šŸ‘

Does anyone know how to find out the theatres where"Bella" will
be showing? I’m trying to give information to our Parishs, but can’t
find the info on the website.

they just posted them up at the official bella website!

check it out there at the sidebar where it says ā€œMarket Citiesā€!

I checked this morning and nothing was listed. Tonight when I
clicked on El Paso, it tells me that theatres are added daily,
but nothing yet. One step closer I guess.
Eduardo was on ā€œThe World Overā€ on EWTN tonight. I was
interrupted as I watched it, but I hope to see it later tonight.
I learned a little more about the film tonight, how they dedicated
it to Our Lady of Guadalupe and how it is based on three real
stories. I am more excited than ever to see it on the big screen.

Raymond Arroyo is halirous…I wish every news anchor could make news interesting and entertaining at the same time…

Eduardo was great! Everytime I hear his story, I learn something new! I didn’t know they were housed during the shoot by the Friars of the Renewal in New York! 😃 Amazing stuff!!!

And Leo Severino is scheduled to be on Life on the Rock on October 18!!!
