Although “hyping” up a major film before release is a tried and true way to generate box office “buzz”, does anyone else feel worn out by now?

We’ve had James Bond go through it’s “hype up”, the last Hunger Games hit cinemas this week and the already super-hyped Star Wars 7 coming in December.

I feel, whilst needed for the films individually, that it’s getting a bit much in all of one hit this season.

Movie advertising and cross advertising(See James Bond in a Heineken commercial) is practically ubiquitous these days.

I am worn out of the hyping of James Bond that is for sure and the new Star Wars is getting on my nerves too. I have just over the past day or so see commercials for Hunger Games. Hollywood is hurting and they are planning on making big bucks with these 3 movies. I think Disney does Star Wars now don’t they, but I don’t know which studios do the other two. They spend a lot of money on advertising that is for sure. I don’t plan on seeing any of these movies over the holidays.

What about the draftkings and fanduel commercials. Don’t even get me started with those

I liked it when movies had to show fake products with similar names instead of the real thing, far too many movies today just big commercials, what really bugs me is when they say “lets take the Honda Pilot to go the store”, instead of what most normal people say “lets take the car to the store”, they make it a point to mention the brand and model.
