Oh, I forgot to mention that the Russian in the film was well pronounced, literate when it had to be, colloquial when it had to be, and profane when it fitted.

I also thought it was out of character for Indy to send the old man for help, knowing he was out of his mind, and knowing that the nearest human beings were the ones they were supposed to be hiding from. (Where was the old man supposed to be going, to get help? Was Indy expecting him to do something rational, like get to a phone and call the police, despite the fact that the guy couldn’t even think straight? 🤷 )

Finally saw this, the bride having received the DVD for Christmas. I got two words for it:

  • *]Stink-
    *]-eroo

Sure, there were -]action/-] CGI sequences, but there was wa-ay too much talking in between them. It shoulda’ been called Indiana Jones and the Computer Generated Imagery.
This thread reminds me of the discussions on the harry Potter movies-some loved em, some hated em. The only difference is
    Code:
at least no one tells me I am going to burn in hell for seeing the latest Indiana Jones movie
    .
    Maybe not.
But I expect to get 122 minutes back off my time in Purgatory… 😛

It wasn’t that bad, at least to me. As a long time Indy fan, I was happy to see a new movie and Harrison Ford did very well for his age. There was plenty of action as far I’m concerned and most of the CGI was at the end, except for the ants and monkeys. But what’s so wrong with CGI?🤷 If it works for the story and it’s done well, it’s fine with me.

Of course, we’re all entitled to our opinions, I just wanted to represent the “pro” side of this discussion. It’s not unanimous that it’s a bad movie, there have been worse. There are plenty of us who love it, warts and all.😉

I think the intended audience for the movie was the core fans - it was more of a nostalgia piece than a story, really. It wrapped up the loose ends from the actual story, and gave it a happy ending, but that was about it.

I’m with you! I liked the movie, too. 🙂

Couldn’t stand this movie, and it’s a shame b/c Raiders is one of my favorite movies. This movie was an attempt to cash in on the name just like the Star Wars prequels.

No, you’re going to hell for this one. I’m pretty sure that it’s in the Cathechism.😉
Oh yeah…it’s hidden behind the back cover, paragraph 2866. You’ll need the “secret password”, which only faithful Catholics have knowledge of. 😛

I’m actually so-so about this film. Even so, this one is still decent compared to other bad movies out there. Harrison Ford, despite his age, can still kick it like he did 30 years ago.

Of course it was an attempt to cash in on the name. It doesn’t mean it can’t also be a good movie. 🙂 I liked the Star Wars prequels, too. :o I guess I’m just easy to please! 😛 😉
