Have been looking forward this this! I’m going on Saturday with a group of friends. 👍
Me too! I watched the preview online and almost cried (I am an emotional person)! We are going on Saturday with my in-laws and I can’t wait!!! 🙂

We [my husband and I plus a friend] went to see it last night [as I posted earlier I went to a special pre-screening for church leaders last July so this was my second viewing] …

I really enjoyed it … so did my husband. 🙂

The theater was about 3/4 full [7:15pm showing] so that was a good turn out …

When the film ended there was real applause :dancing:

Please take the opportunity to enjoy this film … take a couple of friends … get agroup from your parish, take your teens … get your youth group to go … You won’t be sorry … 😉

I went down to a showing of it at the Waterfront, near Homestead, at the big movie theater. Although it was in a smaller theater within the building, part of my group was not allowed in because it was full.

I really liked it. Even though I’m not married and, thus, did not go and see the movie to get a few tips on marriage, it still showed me how love can sometimes be strained. It showed me that we are supposed to be servants to the ones we love, no matter how hard it gets. If both husband and wife both serve each other and learn to forgive each other’s shortcomings, a marriage will usually last.

Although some of the scenes were telegraphed; that is, I knew what was going to happen before it actually did, the acting and plot lines were solid. It had strictly evangelical undertones to it, but it still presents a message that serves a purpose to a still growing problem in our country: marriages ending in divorce.

My husband and I went and saw it Saturday night and we both liked it alot!!! 😃
It’s a must-see for married couples, no matter what state your marriage is in. 😉

Excellent movie. My husband, daugher and I saw it Saturday afternoon and we all enjoyed it. I highly recommend it to anyone. It is a refreshing change about what love is suppose to be. I’m so glad it did well at the box office this past weekend. We need more of these types of movies!

My wife and I saw the movie this afternoon at Gulf Coast Mall in Estero FL.

Movie did not disappoint. Great story line, great acting, great wholesome entertainment with a strong Christian message. As mentioned by others on this thread; it has a strong evangelical touch in spots but not offensive at all to Catholics, but may tend to turn off those sensitive to evangelization.

Apparently a success over the weekend;

“Fireproof generated the second-highest average revenue in theaters this past weekend, beaten only by “Eagle Eye,” a thriller that showed in four times as many theaters and cost 160 times as much to make.”

Well any movie about firefighters is gotta be good.😉

Count me in this weekend.
Is this a movie where firefighters know how to cook, or is it located in Alabama?😃 😃 😃 😃

search keywords: firefighter, fish sticks, wife ,dinner

I highly recommend it. My spouse and I saw it as well, The people in our theater clapped and also remained to watch the entire credits…the last line was incredible. TO GOD GIVE THE GLORY!

I have been recommending it to everyone I met today. Just bring a half box of Kleenex along for those of us who are rather sentimental. Great message and I think I am going to order some of the supplemental study materials and hopefully the DVD when it comes out. 👍

:ehh: do you grill? Alabama folks have some good barbque:)

Well that depends Amy (fav name of mine). If someone does all the pre grill stuff I can keep the fire from scorching the meat, but thats about it.

There is a lot of good BBQ in Alabama. It tends to be of the chopped and pulled variety, with sweet sauces.

Like I say, you prolly don’t want me doin anything more complicated then fish sticks, or Chef BoyArdee.

Just go see it…and recommend it to everyone else to go see it after you do!!!:dancing: :yup:

Why is this in the Politics:2008 forum?
It was posted by a “CAF news bot” called “Pro Life News”. That probably means it’s an automated thing. And since, at this time, there are probably more references to abortion and pro-life topics in this forum than in the morality forum (or any other forum), the bot probably put the thread here by mistake.

That’s my theory anyway. :o

Debbie and I went to see it last night. We double dated with my nephew and niece in law. LOL They are in their 20s and married less then a year.

I dunno why they like hanging out with us old folks but they do.

My nephew followed my footsteps and joined the fire department a couple of years ago, so we were mostly interested in seeing the fire trucks and other toys in the movie.

All of us liked the movie. Some of the action sequences as it relates to the fire service are a stretch, after all it is a movie. However the interaction around the fire station with crew members is quite accurate.

Some of the acting by the supporting cast is a little wooden, but the movie never presents itself as academy award material, it wants to be a platform for a message, and serves that purpose well.

It was refreshing to see a movie without a single curse word, and all those southern accents! And not the kind some Hollywood actor is trying to mimic but the real mccoy. It was filmed in Albany, Ga and I have good friend living there.

I’m glad to see it doing well.

If you look at the Box office results, it looks like, last weekend, it did as well or better than most other movies that are in three times as many theaters!
