Hachi: A Dog’s Tale.

From the IMDB website:

A drama based on the true story of a college professor’s bond with the abandoned dog he takes into his home.

I think that I pretty much cried throughout the whole movie, due to all of the very touching scenes in it.

Many of you have already listed the same movies that are also on my list of sad movies.

Steel Magnolias

I recently saw a film called, “I’m Not Scared”. It’s an Italian film from a few years ago.

It’s about a little boy who discovers that his father is involved with a terrible crime.
 
I got to see It’s a Wonderful Life in theaters last year. Tears broke out near the end.
 
I am another who gets embarrassed crying over a movie…probably because I grew up in a big family and if you got caught shedding a tear over a sad tv show you were teased unmercifully by your siblings!! Therefore, I avoided most Disney pictures, as some poor animal always died in each one.

However, as an adult I got teary watching “Anne of Green Gables”…the scene where dear old Matthew dies in the field.

And the scene in “The Passion of the Christ” that got to me was where Simon of Cyrene was helping Jesus carry the cross…under protest. As they went along you can see him changing, and as they approach the hill Jesus stumbles, and Simon puts his arm around him and lifts him up, and whispers to him “Almost finished.” Jesus gives him this look…oh my, I get a lump in my throat just thinking about it.

No. A Tree Grows in Brooklyn tells the story of a young girl in Depression-era(?) Brooklyn and how she lives. The tree is about the only green thing in her world. Her family is impoverished, at least in part because of her father’s battle with alcoholism. It is very much a tear-jerker.

Definitely Passion of the Christ…the scourging did it for me…I can’t believe none of the females here have not mentioned Ghost…thought that was suppose to be a real tear jerker for women

Nah, “Ghost” was not my cup of tea. But I forgot about “The Notebook”…oh my, that’s one that gets me teary at the end. I think it’s on tv tonight, too!!! James Garner is just awesome in that movie.

Journey For Margaret was another tear jerker. Margaret O’Brien was a wonderful child actress. God Bless, Memaw
