In order to objectively examine and analyse whether or not Muhammad (pbuh) is the Prophet mentioned in the Bible, it is absolutely imperative that Christians really do believe that Almighty God is Omnipotent and Omniscient in the truest sense of these words.

If Christians instead choose to believe that God is fickle-minded enough to change His mind about the mission of Jesus (pbuh) after sending him to the world, then this would mean that even if they discuss the topic for a million years, they will not come any nearer to the answer than when they first started.

Actaully, the imperative is on Muhammad to prove himself to be true, and the evidence is against him and the Islamic apologists who continually oppose Scripture. Anyone can preach and teach ‘One God’. It is another thing altogether to be a Prophet.

… While Muhammad was in Mecca, his god’s Quran preached peace and patience. Once he had power in Medinah, that god demanded war. Talk about changing your mind about the mission!
Say (O Muhammad): People! I am the Messenger of Allah sent to you all… … (Al-Qur’an, 7:158)

And We have not sent you (O Muhammad) but to the whole of mankind as a giver of glad tidings and a warner, but most people have no knowledge. … (Al-Qur’an, 34:28)

BOTH of these verses were revealed in the earlier years of his prophet-hood when Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) was still living in Makkah and before he and his companions emigrated to Madinah.

Therefore, there is really no question at all of God Almighty changing His mind about the mission of Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) to deliver the Message of Islam to the whole of humankind.

To get back on the subject of the thread…
So because Mohammad at one point was a shepherd, he can be associated with this passage from Isaiah? By such simplified logic, any single person who was ever a shepherd could be being referred to in this passage.

By the way, if this refers to Mohammad, and Muslims use this as proof of a prophecy, then they’re just as bad as the Christians who they believe deify Christ…because Isaiah is referring to God.

Here’s the full context:

Behold, the Lord GOD comes with might, and his arm rules for him; behold, his reward is with him, and his recompense before him. He will tend his flock like a shepherd; he will gather the lambs in his arms; he will carry them in his bosom, and gently lead those that are with young. [Isaiah 40:10-11]

So apparently Mohammad is…God?

Some of the best references to Prophet Muhammad are in chapters 11 & 12 of the Book of Revelation, which is interpreted by 'Abdu’l-Baha, while still under house arrest in Akka, 1903.
For Baha’is Muhammad is the first “Woe” meaning woe to unrighteousness, followed by the second “Woe” which was the Báb (1819-1850) the Mahdí and Qai’m (He Who will arise o the Day of Resurrection). The second Woe was followed swiftly by the third Woe, which was Bahá’u’lláh, the Ruler of the Day of Reckoning. The Báb & Bahá’u’lláh are the Twin Trumpet blasts mentioned in the Qur’an (Rodwell tr), Sura 39 - The Troops):
And there shall be a blast on the trumpet, and all who are in the
Heavens and all who are in the Earth shall expire, save those whom God shall
vouchsafe to live. Then shall there be another blast on it, and lo! arising
they shall gaze around them:
And the earth shall shine with the light of her lord, and the Book shall
be set, and the prophets shall be brought up, and the witnesses; and judgment
shall be given between them with equity; and none shall be wronged:

But Revelation chapter 11 mentions Two Witnesses, and Baha’is see these as Prophet Muhammad and Imam Ali, clothed in sack-cloth, meaning traditional laws, who are allowed to die and left “in the street” but stand up again after 3.5 “times” or 43 “months” or 1260 actual years. The Báb appeared in 1260 AH. and Quddus was to Him as Ali was to Muhammad. It is the return of the qualities and the station, not the identity, as John the Baptist was Elijah.

Chapter 12 describes a Woman which is the Law of God given to Muhammad. She is crowned with the 12 star-like Imams, she is clothed with the sun which is the symbol for Persia, and at her feet is the moon, the symbol for the Ottomans. The Child she will bear will become apparent in 1260 AH in Persia, descended from the Imams.
The Ummayad caliphs were always trying to kill the Imams, as Herod tried to kill the chhildren at the time of Jesus.
The Woman and potential Child fled to the wilderness like Hagar, so the Qiblih was removed from Jerusalem to Mecca. And she is Protected by Archangel Michael, who is one of the chief “princes of Persia” (See Daniel) and that is Lord Bahá’u’lláh, who has called the Jews back to their land, finished the time of the gentiles, which was one of the signs of the Advent.

It should now be apparent how Bahá’u’lláh is the Unifier of the great Faiths, and how Islam is “an intermediate community”.
In the Dead Sea War Scroll, found at Qumran, which describes the contest between the ‘Sons of Light’ and the ‘Sons of Darkness’ in military terms, we find the following passage:
But as for the God of Israel, all that has been and is and shall be throughout the vicissitudes of all time are in His hand. This is the Day which He hath appointed for abasing and humbling the [Prince] of the Dominion of Wickedness. But He will send perpetual help to those who have a share in His redemption through the power of Michael, the mighty, ministering angel; and He will send also an eternal light to light up the children of Israel with joy. They that have cast their lot with God shall enjoy peace and blessing. In this way, the rule of Michael will be exalted among the angels, and the dominion of Israel among all flesh. Righteousness shall flourish in heaven, and all who espouse God’s truth shall rejoice in the knowledge of eternal things. And ye, the sons of His covenant, be of good courage in the trial which God visits upon you, until He gives the sign that He has completed His test. His secret powers will always be with you. (The Dead Sea Scriptures, Theodor H. Gaster)

The previous post confused me until I realized it wasn’t Lothair posting it (I saw the bold text and references to the Bible and thought it was an updated post).

Zaki, what belony you are saying?

If Jesus was foretold in the Books of Isiah, almost 800 years before the birth, How come Mohammed was not foretold who came only 500 years after Jesus?

As for your believing Holy Bible its sad, as for you its a corrupted book but for Christians its the Word of One and Only One God, Who was, Is and Will always be.
Yes I know Jesus (pbuh) was foretold in the book of isiah as the messenger of God—but just because Muhammed (pbuh) was not mentioned in the bible does that mean that he is not a prophet?

Byz Wolf: I didn’t mean to confuse. And I will clarify point, if necessary.

Verily by “perverting” the text is not meant that which these foolish and abject souls have fancied, even as some maintain that Jewish and Christian divines have effaced from the Book such verses as extol and magnify the countenance of Muhammad, and instead thereof have inserted the contrary. How utterly vain and false are these words! Can a man who believeth in a book, and deemeth it to be inspired by God, mutilate it? Moreover, the Pentateuch had been spread over the surface of the earth, and was not confined to Mecca and Medina, so that they could privily corrupt and pervert its text. Nay, rather, by corruption of the text is meant that in which all Muslim divines are engaged today, that is the interpretation of God’s holy Book in accordance with their idle imaginings and vain desires. (Baha’u’llah, The Kitab-i-Iqan, p. 86)

The following interpretation is not DavidMark’s, but from the authorized Interpreter of the Word itself:
And he said, **The LORD came from Sinai, and rose up from Seir unto them; he shined forth from mount Paran, and he came with ten thousands of saints: from his right hand went a fiery law for them. **(Deuteronomy 33:2 KJV)

(Moses) connects Mount Paran explicitly with the Prophetic line when, in His final blessing before His death, He describes the Prophets who will follow Him: “The Lord came from Sinai” (meaning Himself, and rose up from Seir . . . (meaning Jesus Christ); he shined forth from mount Paran (meaning Muhammad), and he came with ten thousands of saints (meaning Bahá’u’lláh)." (George Townshend, Christ and Baha’u’llah, p. 32)

Paran is a mountain in Arabia, and the Paran references are all to Islam; the other Manifestations in this particular prophecy are Moses, Jesus, and Bahá’u’lláh, the Lord of Hosts. Habakkuk 3:3 speaks of the “Holy One from mount Paran.” Genesis 17:20 says: “And as for Ishmael…Behold, I have blessed him, and will make him fruitful, and will multiply him exceedingly; twelve princes shall he beget, and I will make him a great nation.” Muhammad descends from Abraham through Ishmael, and the twelve princes are the twelve Imams. Deuteronomy, 18:18 says: “I will raise them up a Prophet from among their brethren, like unto thee (Moses), and will put my words in his mouth…” This could not refer to the Israelites because it says “brethren,” not “seed.” (Marzieh Gail, Six Lessons on Islam, p. 23)

When Bahá’u’lláh arrived at Akká, through the power of God He was able to hoist His banner. His light at first had been a star; now it became a mighty sun, and the illumination of His Cause expanded from the East to the West. (Abdu’l-Baha, PUP, p. 27)
It is recorded in the Torah: And I will give you the valley of Achor for a door of hope. This valley of Achor is the city of ‘Akká, and whoso hath interpreted this otherwise is of those who know not. (Abdu’l-Baha, SWA, p. 162)

*Seir is a locality near Nazareth in Galilee. (Selections from the Writings of Abdu’l-Baha, p. 171)

To get back on the subject of the thread…
Another way of looking at it is that Muslims have no idea what they are talking about. More on that as this thread continues to take shape. Over the weekend, I’ll be posting the next few examples. Stay tuned!

I think many simply take the quotes from second-hand sources and don’t bother to cross-reference.

That is ***exactly ***what it means!
