“Age to Age” I like. The problem I have with “America” (assuming that it is “My Country 'Tis of Thee,”) is that it doesn’t reference God until the final verse. The other three verses are basically glorifying our country. I think that it’s a beautiful hymn but maybe not so suitable for Mass.
“On Eagles’ Wings” counts as a hymn and not as a responsorial psalm. Thus, whoever had the idea of substituting that song for the actual responsorial psalm was probably not reading the GIRM or RS.

When they told us to whip out the hymnals and sing “Let There Be Peace on Earth,” I was like, “Oh, not this again.”

While I am not good, I have found a work around on this song. I use a suspended C# (instead of C) in the intro and follow the first line of the verse with this chord. It makes hitting the pitch easier. I also use a lot of similar chords in this song. It took me a long time to learn well enough for me to play in public, like a year or two.
Interesting…I’ve never heard of On Eagle’s Wings used as a psalm. Who in the world would use that?? I typically “Shepherd Me, O God” (Haugen), “Psalm of the Good Shepherd” (Landry), or “Shelter Me O God” (Hurd) at funerals.
OCP is…well…OCP. We will never understand why they make the suggestions that they do. I use NPM as a guide.
