Muslim converts to Catholicism

Has anybody heard of Gorbachev converting into the catholic church?

I was looking for links and I misquoted it is considered that 6 million a year convert to Christianity in Africa. Sorry I had those numbers in my head not sure where they came from. So while it isn’t as spectacular as I had originally thought it is still pretty good. I’m linking a youtube video on the subject. I know that’s odd but I thought you might like this one because it is from a Muslim perspective, and so isn’t just a whitewash.

Recently numbers of Muslims ((19.2%) in the world surpassed those of Roman Catholics (17.4%). Perhaps it would be fairer to compare total number of Christians (33%) to total number of Muslims since they, too, are divided into Sunni and Sufi sects. On the other hand, the percentage of Catholics may be misleading as it may count all those who have been baptized. Some of these are not practising Catholics now. Most Muslims may be practising because of “peer pressure” and fear. What I wonder is: what is the pull to convert to Islam? One gets the idea that most people want to be less controlled by “religion” rather than more so so I ask “why” convert to Islam? It is sad that lack of knowledge about the Catholic faith may contribute to people leaving the Church. (I am a convert but not a prominent one, nor from Islam). Lozza

Because not all of the numbers will make it to the kingdom of God.
 
As to an apperance of the BVM to bring you to conversion:

Reminds me of the story where a man was in a flood. He refused help from the police and the firemen saying “God will save me”. Finally from the roof of his house a helicopter came by and the man rejected the helicopter saying “God will save me”

Well, the man died and appeared before Saint Peter. The man said: God doesn’t love me, he didn’t save me. Saint Peter said: He sent you the police the firemen and finally a helicopter, what did you think he was going to do?

As it goes with most people. They want a miracle like the crossing of the red sea or Ezekial calling fire from heaven when they reject the simple miracles God sends us every day.

Oh yes, she knows what she is doing indeed. Don’t worry, I know that she does! Only, the apparitions and internal locutions are not her only kinds of interventions, that’s what I meant… and still mean! O.K.?

Perhapse in some sample, globally Islam is overtakeing Catholicism and Christianity in general.
I realize that The Blessed Mother told the visionaries from Medjugorgie that “Even the Muslim will convert”. I feel from this happening that it is the end of times as we know it that is coming in the future. I mean, no one knows when but with everything happening now, it all makes sense.

Nope, even if that prophecy were true it shows no sign of happening anytime soon as Islam is growing much faster than Christianity.

Every single generation has seen signs that the end is near.

Oh please…Islam will NEVER prevail. Jesus told us so, THE GATES OF HELL WILL NOT PREVAIL. It is not growing faster, say your source please. Catholicism is the LARGEST Christian religion in the world. So, as much as you’d like this to be true, it isn’t…:rolleyes:
 
I don’t think the numbers really matter. History tells us the early Christians were tortured and/or murdered at a frightening rate, and yet, here we are.

Jesus also said that his kingdom was not of this world so, ultimately, it may matter more HOW we die than whether we live, greater numbers or not.

Unless there is an immediate change in population trends, what I said is exactly true, the Vatican has admitted that Islam has outgrown Catholicism.

I never said it was a good or bad thing, and am not sure why you’d suppose I wanted it to be true.
