I was thinking about the Muslim converts/reverts I know and thinking about the Muslims who became non-Muslims.

Almost 99% of all the converts to Islam always study the deen and try to be the best Muslim.

On the other hand when Muslims leave Islam, they are not religous or don’t even study what they have converted to or they just become a person who just doesn’t care about the afterlife and wants to do whatever they want. Think about it.

The Muslims who leave Islam are usually the ones who want to do all the sinful acts (fornication, alcohol consumption, drugs, etc.)…

I was thinking about the Muslim converts/reverts I know and thinking about the Muslims who became non-Muslims.

This is one of the most biased and meaningless comments I have ever read. What kind of reliable data does the owner of this argument have? People talk, but they suddenly turn mute when it comes to evidence and statistics.

More, one reading this childish comment may think that Muslims are sinless and perfect people like angels, which is not true.

Stigmatising and slandering converts from Islam will lead Muslims nowhere. They shall keep turning around their idol (Cube) forgetting their starting point and failing to reach a conclusion.

Nevertheless, Islam is such a peaceful religion(!) promoting brotherhood that it sanctions the murder of non-Muslims! The racial brotherhood in Islam is contradictorily the mother of religious racism (discrimination of believers).

You know about 60% of people who convert to Islam, end up leaving Islam in the first year. This is a statistic that I learned from Muslims. So I don’t think that “Muslim proselytizers” like you say are claiming that it’s unlikely Christian converts to Islam never go back to Christianity. Especially in the face of the statistic I just shared.

I don’t know the people in your list though–if they are Muslim->Christian or Christian->Muslim->Christian??

So is your question why do people leave Islam in the first place, or why do converts to Islam end up leaving it? There are subtle differences in the answers, I think.

Anyone know where the study in that statement is located?

No, obviously i cannot ask every convert as not all converts from Islam are friends of mine. It’ll be rather rude to ask them impromptu questions like that.

Amy, no worries. I know which apologetic sites are credible and which aren’t. Sometimes the anti-Islamic links reminds me of those from the anti-Catholic sites such as Alpha and Omega or Jack Chick’s. Interestingly, a few years ago i made an investigation on the websites; answering-christianity.com and answering-islam.org. Both shared the same IP address and were registered to the same owner. Oh, also, be careful of such sites. If you have a good AV, it will detect them as malware prone sites. Interesting, isn’t it?

Please do forgive jen-fla and booklover. I don’t think they mean to do this deliberately but perhaps out of sincerity because they feel they have the duty to “expose the dangers” of some Muslim practices and beliefs. Whilst not always agreeing with their methods, some of the stuff they post is pretty convincing.

That statement is wrong! Answering-Islam.org is a legitimate Christian apologetics site that refutes Islam’s claims! The one you mean is answering-Islam.com.

While interviewing converts, the following picture emerged: Most of them have status in society, have strong family connections, and chose Islam after considerable research and study.

There are actually more Muslim converts to Christianity than what the everyday Muslim protagonist would like us to believe. The converts have to keep it a secret because of death threats or bullying such as this article shows:

Nissar Hussein, 43, from Bradford, West Yorkshire, who was born and raised in Britain, converted from Islam to Christianity with his wife, Qubra, in 1996. The report says that he was subjected to a number of attacks and, after being told that his house would be burnt down if he did not repent and return to Islam, reported the threat to the police. It says he was told that such threats were rarely carried out and the police officer told him to “stop being a crusader and move to another place”. A few days later the unoccupied house next door was set on fire.

Christian Solidarity Worldwide, a British human rights organisation whose president is the former Cabinet minister Jonathan Aitken, is calling on the UN and the international community to take action against nations and communities that punish apostasy.

Its report, No Place to Call Home, claims that apostates from Islam are subject to “gross and wideranging human rights abuses”. It adds that in countries such as Britain, with large Muslim populations in a Westernised culture, the demand to maintain a Muslim identity is intense. “When identities are precarious, their enforcement will take an aggressive form.” *

Let us also not forget that in many Muslim countries, even if a Muslim were to convert to Christianity, the Sha’ria courts refuse to change their identity cards to reflect or prove they are Christians, such as in Lina Joy’s case.

Thanks for sharing with us this funny story. It was most likely related by someone who could afford cheap tales.

One: No true Christian can hate Arabs because not all Arabs are Muslim.

Two: I know many people that turn to Islam to live in luxury.

Three: That guy was not a true Christian, so his conversion cannot be considered a real conversion or loss.

Something about this story does not make sense. Interestingly, a search result online came up with Islamic sites narrating the same story. Any authentic news reports on this?

I won’t deny “Christians” involved in religiously-inspired killings, but the number of reports are relatively small compared to the numerous reports of Islamic-related murders. How do you explain that? Those people are not Muslims? They must be Zoroastrians! Islam forbids the killing of innocents? Okay.

According to some Islamic scholars, there are about 6 million Muslims leaving Islam for Christianity a year. Most of them are in Africa and the “Stan.” Who says Arabs are not racist? Just look at the treatment of black Muslims in Dafur by the Arab Sudanese. Or look at the treatment of south Asians in Saudi Arabia. I remember watching a National Geographic documentary on the Hajj. One of the Nigerians got kicked out of the tent occupied by the Arabs. He ended up with the rest of the Asians or something. Isn’t that racism displayed by the superior Arab? This is a religion of oneness.
