So a Muslim friend (we don’t really talk, we just saw each other a lot a few years ago) shared this video, no one liked it, but I just saw it and I don’t know how to feel about it. First of all, if you see the video, there is a big problem with how it talks about Jesus being our savior and Jesus sacrificing for us. They seem to be misunderstanding the sacrifice concept, specifically, not understanding that that was for us, for our sins, not because God needed that like they say. Not to mention they obviously, like others, try to look for contradictions in the Bible (of course people look for things that are wrong in their scriptures but this was important to make note of). Bear in mind this is from a Muslim source, so it makes sense they would not find what the truth is and just go with what they think (could apply to anyone non-Catholic). So, although were not good friends, I feel the need to explain what we actually believe so he does not just dish out Christianity as some sort of lie (I know many Catholics who have pointed out the fallacies of Islam in different ways, but I doubt I should talk about those). However, I do not have experience discussing with Muslims. I guess I need some advice on what to do/talk about, and particularly how to rebuke the claims in that video and explain what our faith is really about.
Thank you, and happy new year.
