We will not convert. Islam is a heresy. Please come home to the True Faith. We invite you, in every loving way, to come home. Your home is waiting for you.

It is said that by works you shall know faith. Look around you, no one is killing in the name of the Catholic faith. You cannot say that about Islam. Please come home. We welcome you home.

Love, Melanie
No one is killing in the name of the Catholic faith TODAY. But it has over the years, and I’m not just talking about the “taking up of the cross” (crusades) of the middle east wars, but also the ones fought against the non-christians in Europe. (For an informative book on the matter see: “THE NORTHERN CRUSADES: 2ND EDITION” by Eric Christiansen

I doubt if I have the wherewithals to read that book. So give us a break and tell us what is your thesis on "killing in the name of Christians.

I’m sorry, but with all due respect, I agree with the question. I have NEVER seen ANY Muslim denounce ANY terrorist activity. EVER.

Sorry, but to me, to remain silent is to announce your approval. Since I have never seen ANYONE denounce any terrorist activity as wrong, I construe the silence as approval. It is up to those who believe terrorists to be wrong to speak up.

For now, anyone involved in Islam that has not stood up and said “we disagree with the terrorists” or something similar, by their very silence is giving approval.

I have often thought that, and please forgive me I do not intend to criticize, that one of the flaws of Islam is that there is no central authority, no one to say, FOR CERTAIN, that someone is out of line. Perhaps, if there were such an apparatus in Islam, the sponsors of mass murder would be “excommunicated” or whatever that would be in Islam.

But they are not, because there is no one to pronounce them outside the faith and beyond the bounds of decency. And so they continue…

We cannot fix the murderous heretics, but we can invite those gentle Muslims to come home to the True Faith. We will not convert to your heresy, but we are here, waiting for you, to come home. We welcome you. You possess part of the faith, come home and possess all of it. We want you to join us.
Well let me help you out so you can be informed (I mean that in a nice way). There are many articles written by muslims, INCLUDING those who hold to the Salaf Da’wah - the “version” of Islam as preached and practiced in Saudi Arabia, among other places…which is NOT the same Islam that Osama Bin Laden practices (he follows the Qutubi/Qutb, which the Saudi religious and govt have spoke out against). Here are some links so that people can understand correctly (and these are all from Salafi’s, which most western media call extremist):

calltoislam.com/index.php?option=com_content&task=category&sectionid=8&id=72&Itemid=30 - has many articles against terrorism and suicide bombings.

spubs.com/sps/downloads/pdf/GRV070025.pdf (need adobe reader) This paper is entitled: References to Qutubi Doctrines (that which OBL believes) in Western Press

Here are some links to some of the Salaf Scholors (those who issue fatwas/rulings for or against things):

albani.co.uk/ many good articles on the front page about the Salaf and the errors of the terrorists.

binbaz.co.uk/ there is a good article declaring the verdict against kidnapping and hijacking of planes etc called: “Shaikh Ibn Baz and Shaikh Ibn Jibreen on Hijacking and Kidnapping” under the “manhaj” section.

And here are a few other websites by the Salafi if you’d like to learn more about what they are about:

spubs.com/sps/main.cfm , calltoislam.com/ , salaf.com/ , salafimanhaj.com/index.php , salafiaudio.com/ , allaahuakbar.net/INDEX.HTM

And if I may add one more thing (I know I’m going way overboard here with this, sorry!), it’s a great tv series from the UK called “Mosque.” It follows a number of people who go to these kind of mosques in the UK and talks with them, many who are british converts, about Islam and specifically this “kind” of Islam. Here’s the link to the first part (they have them broken up into 6-8 min clips): youtube.com/watch?v=AWzm4o9ChhE

paarsurrey is incapable of debate and unable to defend his/her own beliefs.

You still haven’t told me why muhammed needed to act like a marauding thug and take 13 year old kids as wives paarsurrey…
13 year old kids? According to Aisha’s own words, she was 6 years old when he married her and 9 years old when he sexually consumated the marriage.

The book talks about the wars fought against the Baltic peoples. The “warror-monks” of that time who fought to convert the non-christians to christianity, as well as some fighting against eastern christians who were trying to convert these peoples themselves.

Also the life of Charlemagne had plenty of battles against non-christian europeans…yes some were defensive, but others were not. Here is the “Oath of Renunciation” that the conquered were ordered to profess:

"1 Forsachistu diobolae?
Forsakest thou [the] devil?

et respondeat:
and (s)he should reply:

Ec forsacho diobolae.
I forsake [the] devil.

2 End allum diobolgeldae?
And all idolatry?

End ec forsacho allum diobolgeldae.
And I forsake all idolatry.

3 End allum dioboles uuercum?
And all [the] devil’s works?

End ec forsacho allum dioboles uuercum ende uuordum, Thunaer ende Uuoden ende Saxnote, ende allum them unholdun the hira genotas sint.
And I forsake all [the] devil’s works and promises, Þunor and Wóden and Seaxneat “sword-friend”, i.e. Tíw] and all those devils who are their followers.

4 Gelobistu in got alamehtigan fadaer?
Believest thou in God [the] Almighty Father?

Ec gelobo in got alamehtigan fadaer.
I believe in God [the] Almighty Father.

5 Gelobistu in Crist godes suno?
Believest thou in Christ, God’s Son?

Ec gelobo in Crist godes suno.
I believe in Christ, God’s Son.

6 Gelobistu in halogan gast?
Believest thou in [the] Holy Ghost?

Ec gelobo in halogan gast?
I believe in [the] Holy Ghost."

One other person who forced conversion and killed and tortured those who continued in their pre-christian religion after being forcibly baptized was St. Olaf Tryggvason. Some of his methods included: Forcing live snakes down peoples throats, putting a bowl of red-hot embers on a person’s stomach until it burst open, cut peoples’ tongues out if they preached against christianity and/or for the ways of their own previous religion, and exhile. And they made him a saint! (This is one of the reasons I haven’t converted to Catholocism)

However, according to Jesus’ own words, we are required to receive His body and blood made present by the power of the Holy Spirit in the Eucharist , and we do this every Sunday at mass.:tiphat:
We are to do it in remembrance. When eating bread and drinking the wine (juice, whatever), we are to remember that Jesus was beaten and crucified for us just as a lamb was killed and “broken” for the Day of Atonement. Jesus being our “Lamb” means that by accepting His sacrifice our sins are forgiven.
The wine (juice) being His blood means for us to remember that by His blood being poured on the earth, we can accept Him anywhere and not just in the “Holy of Holies” or one specific place.
(Why is THIS accepted as literally and not cutting off hands or plucking out eyes?)
WHEN was the last time the Holy Spirit was allowed to move like that in your “church”?

Hope this helps. :tiphat:
EVERYDAY.
At any given time the Holy Spirit moves, countless people can end up dancing for joy (WHEN did that happen at yours?) or can be on our faces or knees in worship.

If we go back to the time of Abraham, JUDAISM AND cHRISTIANITY both follow the lineage of Isaac and the Muslims follow that of Ishmael. Isaac was born of the wife of Abraham and is able to call Abraham, Father. Ishmael was born to Abraham from a slave woman and despite Abraham was the father he was still a slave and called him master. The muslims look at God as a slavemaster not as a father, wouldn’t you be angry too. The Koran also has many historical inaccuracies and a divine text could not have these blatant mistakes. An example is the story of Moses when he was challenged by the magicians of pharoah and after the magicians were showed up, pharoah had them crucified. Crucifixion historically did not come about until the Greek and Roman empire. A big mistake for God to make if the Koran is divinely inspired.

FIRST, I’m not condoning anything of the like, but to be fair I offer the following from roman-emperors.org/aggiefran.htm

An excerpt: “Child brides, whether Byzantines or foreign princesses, were the norm rather than the exception, especially from the late twelfth century. Irene Ducaena, wife of Alexius I Comnenus, was twelve at her marriage, and empress before she was fifteen; the Byzantine princess Theodora, Manuel’s niece, was in her thirteenth year when she married Baldwin III of Jerusalem; and Margaret-Maria of Hungary married Isaac II Angelus at the age of nine.”

There seems to be something wrong with the info in your book….
It confuses Saint Olaf (995-1030) withOlaf Tryggvason (950-1000),

How much do you know of the Vikings? They were very brutal, war like people. IT is seems that Olaf Tryggvason was a confused guy as on one hand he is said to have brought Christianity to Norway, but on the other hand he was a Viking to raided villages…

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Olaf_II_of_Norway
Olaf II Haraldsson (995 – July 29, 1030), king from 1015–1028, (known during his lifetime as the Stout (Olav Digre) and after his canonization as Saint Olaf), was born in the year in which Olaf Tryggvason came to Norway. His mother was Åsta Gudbrandsdatter, and his father was Harald Grenske, great-grandchild of Harald I Fairhair. In modern day Norway he is known as Olav den Hellige or Olaf the Holy as a result of his sainthood.

Do you have any idea how barbaric the Norse people were at that time? One of the biggest problems Europe had was that they were raiding all over Europe, slaughtering entire town, raping and pillaging. At the time the only thing that help Europeans together was the church. When an area was raided, they generally killed all of the monks and other clergy. New monks would move in and take over helping the locals rebuild. If Olaf Tryggvason was brutal after he converted to Christianity it was only because he was brutal before that. It was later generations that were pacified by Christianity.

He may not have forced anyone in the first thirteen years, but he created a lot of wars and conquered many lands in the name of Islam. Even if he didn’t do this, the people who came after him performed these tasks

Married doesn’t mean consummated, and there’s still a big difference between twelve or thirteen and six or nine. AND such marriages were only ever practiced among the wealthiest classes - they were the exception and not the norm. Otherwise there was certainly no reason or advantage in marrying before the age of sexual maturity.

I do not codone child marriage/child rape no matter who does it. None of the people you listed are held up today by huge numbers of people to be a prophet of God. None of them are praised as being the most perfect human to have ever lived. Many Muslims believe that 9 years old the age of consent for girls to marry because of Aisha’s age at the time.

CAn you tell us that you condem Muhammad’s marriage to Aisha and that you condem the marriage of any 9 year old.?

In his last 10 years in Medina and his return to Mecca, he (or his people at his command) fought over 80 battles, killing thousans and enslaving thousands.

He also had his ‘faithful’ assassiante men and women who disagreed with him.

Those who were violent after his death were only continuing the path he stared them on.

The one frustrating thing about too many Muslims is that they “claim” that they don’t agree with terrorism only in private. You don’t see ANY public display of that from the Muslim community.
After 9/11, the news showed Muslims in their own countries dancing in the streets. How many Muslim groups in America did you hear about publicly condeming violence and acts of terrorism?

The silence is deafening.
For once - an intelligent response from kujo…savor if folks…not much where that came from.

That was my mistake, not the book’s. The book doesn’t deal with Charlemagne nor Olaf, those were just a couple other examples I was throwing out there. But yes, you are correct on which one was declared a Saint. But still, both had fought with the intention of forcing christianity to be accepted.

You do have a point. All that is good in Islam originally belonged to Judaism and Christianity. Sadly, many of us have forgotten and no longer prostrate. But I will never forsake Christ my God.

CDL
Amen to that. Where do you think Mr Mohamed got the notion of praying 5 times a day if not from the Christian monks that he actually was close to!!!

Hey there. So was Moses evil for declaring the following (in the name of God)?:

“Now kill all the boys. And kill every woman who has slept with a man, but save for yourselves every girl who has never slept with a man. (Numbers 31:17)”

or

10 “When you go near a city to fight against it, then proclaim an offer of peace to it. 11 And it shall be that if they accept your offer of peace, and open to you, then all the people who are found in it shall be placed under tribute to you, and serve you. 12 Now if the city will not make peace with you, but war against you, then you shall besiege it. 13 And when the LORD your God delivers it into your hands, you shall strike every male in it with the edge of the sword. 14 But the women, the little ones, the livestock, and all that is in the city, all its spoil, you shall plunder for yourself; and you shall eat the enemies’ plunder which the LORD your God gives you. 15 Thus you shall do to all the cities which are very far from you, which are not of the cities of these nations.
16 “But of the cities of these peoples which the LORD your God gives you as an inheritance, you shall let nothing that breathes remain alive, 17 but you shall utterly destroy them: the Hittite and the Amorite and the Canaanite and the Perizzite and the Hivite and the Jebusite, just as the LORD your God has commanded you, 18 lest they teach you to do according to all their abominations which they have done for their gods, and you sin against the LORD your God." (Deut 20:10-18)

Well, if Muslims say that Jesus is a “prophet”, I have to ask if they concider Him a “true” prophet or a “false” prophet. If they say “true”, then we’ll have to let them know just what their “true prophet” said about Himself.
Since He’s a “true” prophet, then what He said about Himself is therefore true.

I choose to follow their “prophet”.

I do not codone child marriage/child rape no matter who does it. None of the people you listed are held up today by huge numbers of people to be a prophet of God. I know they’re not held as being prophets, that wasn’t why I posted it. Why do you care if I condem muhammad and aisha’s marriage or not??? I’m not condoning child marriage if that’s what you’re talking about. But I do acknowledge that in times before, “child” marriage was more normal. One can glean from the Talmud as well as all bible scholors that I’ve heard from, that marriage at a young age was the norm back then. I agree that consumation at age 9 seems really young. But I have read about 9 yr olds being married and having children at that age (with their, and their parents approval-in the 21st century). Also, from what I’ve read in hadiths, aisha only had good things to say about muhammed, for whatever it’s worth. But again, I’m not advocating anything of the sort.

Hi
You may continue believing the above, even if it is proved wrong, that is your right, no compulsion. You need not convert if you don’t understand.
Nevertheless I have told you, that to me with reasonable and rational arguments:
  1. Jesus did not die on cross.
2.Since he did not die on Cross so there is no question of his resurrrection from the dead.
3.Since he did not die on Cross so there is no question of his being God or Son of God.
4.He never ascended to heavens, or sat on the right hand of God.
5.He died a natural and respectful death in Siringagr,Kashmir, India where he lived among lost tribes of the House Of Israel.
    This is very reasonable.
    Thanks
I am an Ahmadi – a peaceful faith in Islam bridging gaps between faiths/denominations/religions/agnostics
The West, as I understand, due to certain disinformation has seen only MullahIslam or MullahShariah; the true face of Muhammad’sIslam and PromisedMessiahImamMahdi’sIslam is yet hidden from their eyes, which is truly speaking only peaceful.
GodAllahYHWH is All-Knowing; one should invariably give Claim and Reason on all important issues from one’s Revealed Book; one shouldn’t try putting one’s own words into God’s mouth.
Why do you keep posting the same garbage like a broken record?? For someone who claims that he’s helping to bridge gaps between faiths, your continued insults against our Faith are a complete stumbling block to that!
