I am still not understanding why God should need or want or have use for money or spoils.
God created the universe and everything it, didn’t He? (Yes. Yes he did.)
Hmm…what are some riches compared to the totality of existence, the cosmos, and infinity beyond the bounds of any human concept? Really, what is it?
Islam has worldly aspirations, no matter how they devide up their spoils or anything else.
I find the whole matter problematic, though…that God should be “One” (and He is!), and yet some of Muhammad’s gains are shared with Him, and that so many things in the Qur’an are specified to be for the sake of God and His messenger, and many of them are things like this (riches) that I can’t for the life of me figure why God would care about at all.
I wonder what Muslims would make of the various stories in the Bible teaching that we are not to make a show of our faith or our charitable giving, that the rich will need to abandon everything to enter heaven, etc. When the poor woman in Luke 21 gave all that she had but it amounted to very little, Jesus said "“Truly I say to you, this poor widow put in more than all of them; for they all out of their surplus put into the offering; but she out of her poverty put in all that she had to live on.”
It was not by decree or to curry favor, but the Lord saw her gift and was pleased, and not because of any “proper” mathematical division of spoils.
