Anglican Archbishop Rowan Williams of Canterbury “welcomed the letter as a clear reaffirmation of the potential for further development of existing dialogue and common action between Christians and Muslims and other faith communities,” said an Oct. 11 statement on his Web site.

Watching a BBC duco the other night on this topic… well…similar to this topic about Islam. And how it took some of its most recognisable practices from Christianity. Like no pews, the taking off of shoes when entering a church and even the most recognisable practice of Islam the bowing when praying, all taken from the early church.

This might not be a bad idea, to study areas of agreement between Catholicism and Islam. Obviously, the two religions contain elements which are incompatible, but there may be areas of agreement and mutual cooperation.
