Anyone who has been to one of these Islam “Q & A” things already knows what I’m talking about… If you haven’t, just go to one and you’ll find out for yourself. Already it starts with the attempted guilt trips and how I must be soo intolerant to say things like this. So apparently making yourself aware of the spread of misinformation = “stoning your neighbor” now… that made me LOL

Go back and reread your opening post. If someone came to a Catholic event with that attitude towards what was to be said, would you say “now there’s a guy who is prepared to be fair, agree or disagree with our points”?

I wouldn’t. I doubt you would.

You guys are so paranoid, you’re no different than the paranoid nativists who spread lies and propganda about Catholics in the 1800s.

I’ve read both the Qu’ran and the Bible cover to cover and I say with 100% certainty I was sickened by what I read in the Bible I lost my faith nearly entirely after reading the Old Testament, it’s a vile and disgusting book.

On the other hand nothing in the Qu’ran made me sick, maybe I shook my head and said “that’s over the top and ridiculous”, but when compared to the Bible particularly judges when Jephthah sacrifices his daughter and God apparently accepts it and doesn’t care. Then toss in bashing babies against rocks, countless genocide, adulteress Kings who steal men’s wives and ship them off to their death still being a “friend of God” meanwhile the righteous man who was essentially murdered and had his wife stolen is basically beat and God doesn’t give two cents about him… And one can definitely say the Bible is 100 times more violent and offensive than the Qu’ran.
 
You know, lukewarm, the OLD testament is called OLD for a reason. Try the NEW testament.

  1. The God of the Old Testament is no different than the God of the New Testament. They are inseperable, anything else is heresy in Christianity Catholicism in particular.
  2. IF somehow you did seperate the two would Judaism be much more worth your time preaching against? Seriously read the Qu’ran, there’s really nothing that bad in it (as compared to the Bible, there is plenty I disagree with).
 
Instead of judging before you attend, why not go and see what it is like? Let us not forget the Catholic Church’s teaching on Islam:

*841 The Church’s relationship with the Muslims. "The plan of salvation also includes those who acknowledge the Creator, in the first place amongst whom are the Muslims; these profess to hold the faith of Abraham, and together with us they adore the one, merciful God, mankind’s judge on the last day."330 * From the Catechism of the Catholic Church.

*3. The Church regards with esteem also the Moslems. They adore the one God, living and subsisting in Himself; merciful and all- powerful, the Creator of heaven and earth,(5) who has spoken to men; they take pains to submit wholeheartedly to even His inscrutable decrees, just as Abraham, with whom the faith of Islam takes pleasure in linking itself, submitted to God. Though they do not acknowledge Jesus as God, they revere Him as a prophet. They also honor Mary, His virgin Mother; at times they even call on her with devotion. Finally, they value the moral life and worship God especially through prayer, almsgiving and fasting.

I don’t think you’ve even read the quran, nor understood what I wrote above.

There are plenty of jihadist verses in the Quran - surah 9 for instance. If you want to discuss that with me, let me know. But read it first.

Also, please learn the difference between descriptive and prescriptive verses.

So I’m a liar now? :confused: I have a 4 hour commute each day I read the Qu’ran in a couple days, I already said there is plenty I disagree with did I not? But there’s nothing in the Qu’ran that is even close to the barbarism found within the Bible, that’s a fact sorry you’re too clouded to see something that is undeniable.

Frankly I doubt YOU have ever read the Bible or the Qu’ran in its entirety, I bet you stick to cherry picking a phrase or ten from each to bolster your weak argument.

Here’s a chalenge to you, give me the WORST Surah you have found in the Qu’ran, and I will give you ten MUCH worse from the Bible.
 
Hey everyone I’m new here. I am a Catholic who attends the Holy Mass in the Extraordinary Form. I’ve been reading Catholic Answers for a while. Exoflare, I saw MSA when talking about ‘Muslim Propaganda,’ Do you by any chance go to the University of Missouri Columbia? That’s where I go. I thought I’ve seen something to this effect on campus.
