You are trying to find a ‘justification’ for genocide. Is this really what you want to show as an act of an all-loving God?The justification of it is Gods to answer, but I can think of a reason it could be considered required as some things are to serve a higher, righteous purpose. Gold must be heated to be purified; so might a people be prepared by God. Do you care to guess what I think the result of that purification process to a chosen people?
Gold may be heated to proof it, and a people might be tried; but that says nothing about other peoples. What had they done? They had no knowledge that the Israelite God was the only one (and that according to the Israelites, another tribe whom they had no reason to hold in high esteem). Did they deserve death for their ignorance?
