But does Sharia Law require non-Muslims to pay the jizya? The tax for not being Muslim? I seem to recall that being in the Quran.

dead sea scrolls?
Hi jjwilkman,

The Dead Sea Scrolls are not original documents of the OT. They are copies of copies of the originals. No original of the OT exists.

Hello HlGomez,

Yes, this is the Islamic viewpoint. Please understand that Islamic beliefs are not meant to insult you. Just as you consider Islam to be a religion of Satan.

Secondly, the Prophet Muhammad never associated with Christians in his life. And he was illiterate, so he wouldn’t have read the Bible.

Muhammad lived right on the fringe of the Christian world, he would have undoubtedly come into contact with Christians. Read here for further information. Muhammad took what he liked of Catholicism, rejected what he didn’t like, and formed his own religion from it.

Hello UnworthySoul,

Shariah requires:
  1. Muslims pay a yearly tax to the Government.
  2. Non-Muslims pay a yearly tax to the Government to live in Muslim lands.
The taxes are the same (2.5%)

Question: Do you pay taxes where you live? What do they cost you?

Hello Unworthysoul,

The Prophet Muhammad lived in Mecca which was several weeks away from Jerusalem by Caravan. There were possibly 1 or 2 Christians in all of the Arabian Penninsula.

The only Christian in Mecca died the same year as The Prophet recieved revelation.

If you still claim that The Prophet Muhammad stole from Christianity, then you would have to bring more proof then simple similarities. Names, places, documents, references, statements and witnesses. Even one will do.

Dear Munawar Can you answer for this ?
Present Qura`n RECITED AND CORRUPTED.

Othman did a great service to Islam by sending out standard copies of the Qur’an to provincial capitals. The need arose from a dispute about the way of reciting the Holy Qur’an. People of Iraq recited it one way and the people of Syria in another way. The matter came up before the Caliph in 30 A.H. “We copy the way of Abu Musa Ashari,” said the Iraqis.

“And we follow the way of Miqdad bin al-Aswad,” declared the Syrians.

Othman put the matter before the Companions. All agreed that the copy prepared in Abu Bakr’s time was the standard one. After Abu Bakr, it had passed into the hands of Omar, and now it was with his daughter, Hafsa. Othman got this copy. Zahid bin Thabit, the trusted scribe of the revelation, was asked to prepare seven copies from it. He was to be helped by three more men, who had the Qur’an by heart.

Zaid himself had the whole Qur’an by heart. He was also one of the scribes of the revelation. First, he wrote out the whole book from memory. Then he read it out to a gathering of Muhajirun and Ansar three times. Then he compared this copy with the one that was with Hafsa. The two copies were exactly alike. Seven more copies were then written out and sent to different parts of the country.

Why not read the link I posted? It’s quite long so there is no way you read it in the time that’s gone by since I posted it. It is full of examples.

Hello Selvaraj,

I dont see a question to answer, but what I will do, is layout simply what transpired when the Quran was compiled:
  1. The Prophet Muhammad receieved revelation; the Quran
  2. His companions memorized and wrote down the Quran throughout his life. 136 Companions memorized the entire Quran. The Prophet approved of their memorization. Meaning he told them that they had memorized correctly, 100%.
  3. After his death (within 3 years), The Quran is compiled into one book, by Zaid bin Thabit. Every line of the Quran requires 2 witnesses before he includes it in the Quran. All verses are accounted for. 6 Qurans are compiled and all Qurans going forward are from this source.
  4. Within 13 years, there is a need to standardize the dialect of the spoken Arabic. There are issues of mispronunciation of the Arabic. Zaid again rewrites the Quran, but is explicit in that he writes it from the Quraishi Dialect of Arabic (think British English versus American English).
He creates 6 Qurans again. They are exact copies of what he wrote 13 years ago. (He should know, he has access to the copy, and he has memorized the book). Of these 6, two Qurans are in existence today. One in Turkey, the other Samarkand, Uzbekistand.

All in all, the 2 existing Qurans were created within 13 years of the Prophets death. They are written and verified by companions who had memorized the Quran in front of the Prophet.

Do you see any issues with the authenticity of the Qurans today as based on these 6 originals?

Hi Unworthysoul,

I skimmed through the article, but I’ve answered this question many times, so I understand the arguements.

My answer still stands true. Provide proof if you really believe that Islam is a bastardized Christianity. I feel it is obvious, that God sent a Prophet to Arabia, describing the same message as all the Prophets before him. This is why you find so many similarities in the two religions.

Munawar

Dear Munawar,
Thanks, means you agreed the present Quran is recited. Because many of my Muslim friends not accepted this.

If you skimmed it then you do not know what arguements are there to answer. Your “answer” is no answer at all. You asked me how Muhammad took from Catholicism. I gave you a link showing you exactly how. You dismissed it after only skimming it and saying you’ve answered that before.

First, if you only skimmed it, then you don’t know what proofs are in there.

Second, even if you did read it and have answered questions like that before, I have not heard your answers. Isn’t that the point of this discussion? To explain to people here? Saying, “Oh, I’ve already answered that stuff elsewhere” does not tell us anything. In fact, it appears to be a way to avoid answering the points raised in the link provided.

You know, I can very easily say back to you what you have said of the Bible. How do you know that is how it happened? What proof do you have other than tradition?

UnworthySoul- Thank you so much for posting that article! It was extremely informative! 👍

Hello Jennie66,

In Islam, women are not treated brutally, in fact they recieve equal rights to a man. You’ll be surpised to hear many American women willingly become Muslim, including many Catholics I know.

I dont mention this to show-off; But simply to show you that your idea of what Islamic treatment of women is.

Muslim males are allowed to marry a non-muslim. Can a Muslim female do the same?

Muhammad was a merchant in the Middle East…he certainly did associate with both Jews and Christians. Muhammad was actually a fairly successful merchant living in a prosperous trade city (Mecca). If you think that he never associated with Christians I…well, that’s just not true. Many other merchants Muhammad would have traded with would have been Jews and Christians. While he may never have read the bible himself, I guarantee it came up at least once in conversation with another merchant.

These statisitics are fairly accurate and, even if you cut the growth/decline rates in half, the US will be predominatly Muslim by the end of this century. The growth of Islam in Spain now is phenomenal. Many Spaniards “re-converting” to Islam. And sending missionaries to Central America where scores of villages now have converted en masse to Islam.

I’m told this is all predicted in the Koran and/or by Muslim mystics from centuries ago.

I do think the real conflict as this century goes on will be between secularism and Islam. Christianity seems to be collapsing despite the so-called renewals we are so often told about. A lot of that is foisted on folks to get them to buy things.

Islam has a strength Christianity does not have - a unity. A mosque is a mosque is a mosque wherever you go in the world. But a church - here in the Bay Area there are 700+ different types of churches with the denominations featuring totally different docxtines. On Baptism, the Trinity, the rapture, marriage. You name it.

I’ve been told a Muslim mystic was asked how the world would know that Islam, not Christianity, is the true faith. The reply - Allah (God) whould split Christinaity again and again and again till no two Christians believe the same thing. That prophecy seems to have come true. 22,000 or so Christian denominations in the world. I know Catholic apologists point this out as a strength of Catholicism against Protestanism - but I see it as a fatal weakness of Christinaity. Is the message of Jesus that confusing, that hard to understand that this disintegration of Christianity was inevitable and seems to be accelerating?

Of course they’re all converting to Islam… it’s pretty well known that the last days will be terrible times and the true faith will be persecuted. I doubt that “true faith” is going to be such a widely accepted majority. Especially not one that treats all non-adherents like they are beneath dirt.

EDIT: Well, I just thought of something. The Anti-Christ will come near the end times claiming to be Christ, and deceive many throughout the world. It just so happens that Muslims also believe that “Christ” will come to earth, but then after that he will spread Islam throughout the world. You don’t suppose…? :hmmm:

Yes, this is the Islamic viewpoint. Please understand that Islamic beliefs are not meant to insult you. Just as you consider Islam to be a religion of Satan.
I’m not the one insulted, but the One who had been raised from the dead. You are just pointly referring to the Son of God as liar. Just because a man named Muhammad “purportedly” received a “revelation” from God says that the bible is corrupted and then you believed right away. Where is your proof? Muhammad?
Secondly, the Prophet Muhammad never associated with Christians in his life. And he was illiterate, so he wouldn’t have read the Bible.
You never read history, I guess. Muhammad may have been illiterate, BUT may have talked with Christian heretics. You don’t get the point? Hearing is the same thing as reading, you still get the message.

And you said he was illiterate, how then was he able to write the Quran? Did he know what he was writing if he was illiterate?

Many people convert to Islam because of their belief that they can marry as many wives as they can. Our present generation is full of adulterers and adulteress so Islam is the best way to go because Christianity, especially Catholicism doesn’t allow divorce nor remarry.
