i read the whole chapter of john 8
the conversation between them was very long , and in most of it he trying to tell them that his father sent him and he doing the acts of his father … etc (with another word he said to them i was sent by God , and never said i’m God himself
42Jesus said to them, “If God were your Father, you would love Me, for I proceeded forth and have come from God, for I have not even come on My own initiative, but He sent Me. 43“Why do you not understand what I am saying?

you trying to support your beliefs in this verse by what jews understood from jesus (pbuh)
the group whom jesus said to them
25So they were saying to Him, “Who are You?” Jesus said to them, “What have I been saying to you from the beginning?

we have the all conversation between jesus and jews , and all what you do is to ignore the converstation itself and focus in understanding of jews for the words of jesus and also ignore that jesus condemned them with misunderstading !

56“Your father Abraham rejoiced to see My day, and he saw it and was glad.”
this verse dosn’t necesserly means that jesus was exist in the time of abraham (pbuh) , most probably it’s the opposite , may be abraham is the one who saw that day or knew about it as a prophecy or even saw it while he is in heavin

isn’t it possible !
You are not putting this into religious context, consider the source of this writing! It is the Apostle John! His disciples St. Ignatius of Antioch and Polycarp all expressed the belief that Jesus Christ was God. Similarly, I AM, must be taken into account what happened to those who were going to arrest him when he said that. They all fell down.

to be more accurate , it think that john expressed the belief that jesus is the son of God not God , big difference because if you wanted to put it in relegious context , then you should equate it with all sons of God whom mentioned in OT

i didnt understood your point in your last statement

Certainly when Christ said He is the Son of God…there is alot of room for reflection…and that is that we are really part of one family, God is our Creator, and He has no favorites.

Jesus is the face of God. A person can never understand Sacred Scriptures if one is approaching it in an adversarial, superior spirit, and not with transcendent understanding that only comes with the Holy Spirit.

I think God giving us His son…was a great message for mankind to stop killing one another, to turn to mutual love and concern for one another’s welfare…in peace.

IT is clear as day the statement I am trying to point out here .

Before Abraham your father came to be I AM
Then they were puzzled, then he explained that he is GOD "I AM " Read this apart again then shoot back to Exodus 3:14 this is very simple fun, and easy to do . Unblock whatever pre conceived notions U may have and go into scripture
