Perhaps in showing solidarity - Christians and Muslims - we are saying that God is NOT present in the killing, but in the praying and loving each other. We are always stronger when we are together in God.
Ok. So we go to the Mosque and sit there and if they say Jesus didn’t die on the Cross, what next?

Perhaps you are misinterpreting their gesture. They came to mass as devout and concerned Muslims to show their compassion about an action a Muslim did against a devout and holy priest. It would be extremely inappropriate, IMO, to invite them to attend RCIA.
Thank you. Can we not take this as what it is?Simply an act of shocked compassion and fellowship? No strings, no demands, simply LOVE and compassion

Yes. Then if they bring it up (let’s say without any malice -most Muslims are peace loving) , those Catholics showing solidarity may ask some questions. Some may be surprised if shocked perhaps.

In any case:

Archbishop Lebrun then turned to the Catholic community of France, especially those who do not often attend Mass.

He appealed to them to visit a church in the coming days, especially on Aug. 15, the Solemnity of the Assumption of Mary, “to affirm that violence will not take root in your hearts, to ask for grace from God; please light a candle in the church, a sign of the Resurrection, to collect yourself and open your hearts to what is most profound; if you can, pray.”
