The OT and NT are revelation. They are synonymous terms.
So when I say your revelation (Koran) corrects prior revelation (OT and NT), what is wrong about that? They are synonyms.

Corrects what? Changes and errors according to their perspective. Divine revelation according to us.
Changes and errors from the original texts. BTW, it’s not my Koran. 😉

Too bizzare? Really? As long as you mean they worship the God of Abraham…
Whatever that story you wrote was supposed to mean–it was unitelligible–teen boys (creepy choice there) ****** in a circle is a sick, sick thing to conjure up. What kind of mind…

Muhammad is not just a false prophet, “it’s” an antiChrist in it’s purest form.

Any time you create a cult, you do so under the context of having some common ground, that originally based upon sound doctrin, are lead to throw them away, replaced with a false one.

The JW for example, their version of scripture is not the same as ours, sure they claim they follow God, but they clearly do not, they follow a demonically written doctrine, that has some assemblence of truth within it, yet the truth is spoiled due to the lies which are printed right along side, the koran, quoran, or how ever that book of lies wants to be called, is exactly the same. Sure, there are some good things to be learned from it, but there are some very bad things it’s also teaching as well. It’s the truths that people are sucked in, it’s the lie they have to embrace in order to remain sucked in.

We test the spirits through their testimony to Jesus Christ, any spirit that denies him is false, and the Muhammad spirit, or what ever inhabited him, is clearly false.

The people themselves, “try” to worship our God, but they are mislead and worship him falsely. It’s the same as those big tent, prosperity churches, they give God a lot of word play, but look into their hearts and it’s all petty greed and vanity. In this case, the Muslims felt left out, so instead of trying to embrace the truth, they embraced what their itchy ears wanted to hear, and even to this day, consider themselves within the elite, of which is pure vanity…

Greetings and peace be with you Nine_Two;

.

Man may look on God through many different ways, but the same God hears all our prayers, we are all created by the same God. We have a duty of care to look after all God’s creation, and that must mean careing for each other, despite all our differences.

Every blessing

Eric
Saying the Muslim god is the same as the Christian God is like saying Zeus and Hades were the same god.

As I said the evidence produced by Muslims on this forum is that their god is a limited being. Mine is omnipotent, clearly different.

So you disagree with the CC on this?

You say that God is a triune god, while the Jews don’t. Does that mean we worship different gods? If not, why not?

Neither was Muhammed. 🙂

I don’t think anyone was talking to Muhammed.
Yes, mohamad is not considered a prophet to Judaism & Christianity, but he is a prophet of allah to muslims.

I was pointing out that God spoke directly to Abraham. God did not send the Angel Gabriel to pass on prophetic calls & messages to Abraham.

So you disagree with the CC on this?
CC makes statements for reasons other then the direct meanings. It is still up to us to discern what is meant by them and not blindly take it at face value. The pope already made his statement on them, it’s clear of his stance, it’s his interpretation of the CC that I follow up, upon, and that’s the bottom line with me in my book. I will not elaborate upon this further, you either know, or do not, and since I do, that is all that matters. If they felt a need to explain it further, they would have, but clearly they did not, so neither should I.

What about Judaism? They also don’t believe that Jesus is God. Does what they do believe about God count for anything? Does what truth the Muslims believe about God count for anything? If individual Muslims worship God but believe false things because this is what they were taught, can that worship really be valueless?
Hello Kalt,
The Catholic Church says no, see the CCC.

Catholics believe in a purification process by which we grow in holiness in order to please the Father, and we believe it is a life long process. If ,when we are ready to move on to the next life and, we have not reached that state of purity of heart, then we believe our purification will continue in a state after death until we are made perfect to be with the Father in heaven.
I believe, and I am sure I’ll get flack for it, God will not deny Muslims or Jews who believe in him,but do not understand Christianity and who have lived holy lives, as they know it according to their conscience, the opportunity of becoming purified in heart and mind according to his desires and precepts , even after they die. With the mercy God has shown them and the grace he gives to believe in the Truth of the New Covenant, they will be able to rejoice in the full happiness of all in heaven.God please enlighten us all. Peace,:)Carlan

I will tell my oldest you did not like his analogy! The mind is 14 but quite brilliant. I do see how it can be taken that way. It is a picture of an absurd religion that claims to be the God of Abraham. We have to evaluate the claims based upon Truth. In this house, poo, pee, farts and burps are the norm just so you know.

A) The Jews don’t worship a limited god, while the Koran specifically limits their gods power (and the posts of Muslims here has attested to that), thus creating a god who is a limited being. It is for the same reason that I don’t think Mormons, or Mandians, or others like them worship the same god as Christians.

The modern Jews simply don’t hold a revelation regarding God’s nature to be true, thus they have a view of God which is lacking but it is the same God.

The Muslim god has more in common with Zeus, or the gnostic demiurge than it does with the Christian God.

Such uncouth expression is not acceptable to me sir, and I do not appreciate it,have respect,:tsktsk:Carlan

I do not believe that Muslims worship the same God as Christians do. My objections to CCC 841 are well known at this point (I think you participated in the thread I started about it if I remember correctly, kalt), so I’m not going to rehash it. It is sufficient to say that I do not recognize a God who cannot beget, who cannot incarnate, who cannot resurrect as any kind of God that I worship. Questions of the Jews I think are pretty well dealt with by the sort of distinction Nine_Two has made (which I wish I had made in my thread!), while Muslims have done something far more insidious by trying to repackage the God of Abraham as the God of Muhammad, giving Him a specific set of “disallowed” (for lack of a better term) characteristics as well as false attributes (God leads astray those he wills and all that…I don’t remember the exact wording; God is the “greatest of deceivers”, etc.) that are not common to Jewish OR Christian understandings of God, but are something else altogether.

Judaism also denies the deity of Jesus.
**kalt, you have to think before you speak. No offense, but either you are ignorantly blind or you are led by an evil spirit because your rejection of the declaration of 1 John 2:22 by your way of posting an invalid case is manifest of your inability to accept biblical teachings.

WHERE in the religion of Judaism does its teachings reject the deity of Jesus???

Can you quote us the relevant jewish scripture here?

LOL Ask any Jew if Jesus is the Son of God, the Messiah. 😃

Jews are waiting for the messiah. They don’t believe that Jesus is the one.

What difference does it make? Muhammed isn’t a prophet. Even if M said that it was God speaking to him, he’s still not a prophet.

Yep, the gnostic approach. Only you and a few in the know have access to this secret meaning.
